- Do you want to install a ceiling fan on a sloped ceiling? Intimidated by making it level? It's SO much easier than you think! Sharing the very basics for a DIY install in this tutorial- plus I'm sharing an exciting project I'm working on (and it's a surprise!).

Do you have a fan in your bedroom?! Have you ever installed one?
I’m an electrical contractor and this ceiling mounting bracket was meant for a lighting fixture. You need to install a ceiling fan support bracket kit to install it. It could fall off the ceiling and injure a person unless you have the correct bracket! Lots of UA-cam videos to show you how to install one.

In looking into fans for sloped ceilings - One problem that might arise is that because the blades are spinning about a sloped ceiling - their is and air pressure difference between the lower side of the ceiling and the higher side of the ceiling. This pressure difference will cause the blades to become "unbalanced" during its rotation and will in the end cause a "wobbly ceiling fan". In the video you did not put the fan at high speed. Does the fan wobble when its rotating at high speeds? this might be minimized by using a longer down rod.

What type is that ? fan, Its not flushmount?
Have you been happy with this fan? I love the style and want to order them. But I see so many mixed reviews, mainly that the light is too dim.
You can dim it or brighten it! This particular fan is at my sister-in-law’s, but we have the same brand in my daughters bedroom and We never turn it up the full brightness :)
Can I assume this will work with ANY ceiling fan as long as the ceiling fan has a drop rod?
I would assume so but haven't tried any other brands!
no it would not, search for an angled mount fan!
Did you have to replace the electrical box?
I kept the outlet box and swapped out the brackets

Unless the junction box you hooked that fan up to is rated for a fan, this is wrong. There are special junction boxes that either brace between two floor joists or you can get what is called a saddle box which mounts directly to a cieling joist. The saddle box is "U" shapped and wraps around the joist. Junction boxes meant for lighting can not support the weight of a moving fan. A normal junction box is simply tacked to the side of one joist with two nails. Over time, those two nails will work themselves loose from the weight and the motion of the fan. You will notice your fan start to wobble after a while and then eventually fall out of the cieling. You mentioned the fan bracket, but the fan bracket attaches to the junction box. This fan has no support. If you did it the correct way I apologize, but I didn't hear you mention anything about junction boxes in your video. With respect, you need to do more research before doing your own diy repairs and more so before you share your incorrect information for potentially millions to see and make the same mistakes.
Also, you cannot hook these up to any sloped ceiling. Steeper pitched ceilings require special brackets. Most fans will tell you upto what angle you can mount the fan. If the pitch of your ceiling is greater than that, you will need to buy a special bracket in order for your fan to be plumb.
Yea I was looking for that to be addressed. Gonna be a bitch to patch back in with the popcorn. I duno why people offer instruction and don't address at the very least the necessities. Hopefully the box was for a fan already but they should definitely clarify for people with zero knowledge attempting to put one up.

horrible video! No mention of electrical box rating for weight of ceiling fan! No mention of the electrical box being mounted such that the swing allowed by the ball is in the same direction as the slope in the ceiling.
You talk too much, just show me what you gotta do.
