*Great unit that’s easy to install and use. It’s relatively quiet compared to window units and **Fastly.Cool** , and it cools down our whole living room, side room and bathroom; which is a large space for any unit to cool.*
It's probably my age... but I didn't see ANY ceiling mount or instruction on how to mount on a "sloped ceiling". My fan came already with good instructions on how to assemble it on my workbench.
He just explains it. I wanted him to say, for example, “make sure once you install this, you have at least 5” of clearance between your blade and the lower sloping side of the ceiling.”
Same here, how much clearance do you need
At least 12” of clearance according to this video- ua-cam.com/video/8x3J7I4eTbU/v-deo.html
Thanks man you the best . Saved my one hour of figuring that out
Thank you for this awesome video.
This was super helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for your help!
Thank you!
What keeps it down Rod near the ceiling from spinning around and ripping the wires out?
Thank you brother.
Does the bracket need to be connected to electrical outlet box? Does code require it to be?
where do you get that bracket with the ball and the down rod?
great video, good production, informative
I have a new ceiling fan with a down rod. After it was installed, I was told by a friend that it is not compatible with a sloped ceiling. My question is, is that mounting bracket something that will help with my problem?
Hi. Is there a risk of fire with a fan mounted on a slanted ceiling? My friend mentioned hearing of one catching fire because of that and is nervous to leave them on. That sounds like nonsense to me; I find it hard to believe they would keep putting them on such ceilings. She happens to live in a mobile home park and the houses are fairly new, around 5 yrs now. I suspect she feels it is running up her power bill but in the meantime it's hot here with little to no breezes.
My fan downrod is hitting the side of the canopy and making a tapping noise with a tiny bit of a wobble. How do I get some space between the rod and the canopy housing?
music and walmart music XD Awsome :D
Thanks for the information!! Wasn't sure which way to put the threaded end into ...
How do you cover the ball hanger with something more aestically pleasing to look at?
Spray paint
Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.
what if the slope of the ceiling does not allow canopy to attach without making the fan out of level?
the ceiling slope is around 40 degrees, so what method can I use to remove some of the slope at the mounting point?
I made a small wooden piece to go in between the bracket and truss in the ceiling.
Where is top cover at? He never showed it being installed.
@2:46 buddy stripped them screws💁
There is a slot on the ball and a pin on the socket, as long as they are together your down rod should not turn.
will this downrod fit my Murray feiss footprint 52" in ceiling fan?
I went to Walmart. purchased two metal thin broom handles for 8 dollars and saved 70.00. They wanted 37 dollars plus taxes for one. I cut the ends off with the handle and piece at the end, and ran the wires through it perfectly. Drilled holes match existing pins at both ends. a small drilled hole to start the support screw at the top end of poll. done.
can a flush mount fan be converted n how?
Amanda Garcia yes, just installed one today.
How to make it so it wont rattle
Its really flimsy after ur finish with everything doesn't look right, I finished a whole light section at my job doing down rods on ceiling fans
I have a hugger ceiling fan on a sloped ceiling😮
Not an instructional video at all, unfortunately. You can assume that someone isn't just replacing an existing ceiling fan. What might you have to deal with that is different from a flat ceiling? Will the existing box be adequate? How can you tell? What are the different options to bolster the box? You just showed someone how to assemble the fan.
What the heck... Change the title of the video if it's not about sloped ceilings.
As an electrician with 20 years experience using these types of fans, this is wrong. You can not mount standard ball type fans at that angle. They generally accept up to 30 degrees but more would make the steel cover or "cup" that goes around the base of it to hide the wire, not sit flush and look bad. Additionally, the brackets are not designed for such a high rate of angle which means they would be unstable and potentially dangerous. What is needed is either an angle mount kit OR to just simply install a timber wedge to the ceiling to make it mount level (cheapest easiest method).
Thank you . I just copied your comment and will refer to it while building our house, installing 3 fans on a slanted ceilings.
Relax dude
Well this wasn’t very good
Thank you !
