I really like that you say how much you'll buy it for as well as the price you'll sell it at 👍 Other dealers never do that. Total transparency, very cool
Exactly, people understand you need to make your margin on the sale
Thank you I appreciate that and so pleased you enjoy the channel😃
Facts, you seem trustworthy mate. All the best
So yeah unbelievable but the flipping is pretty much over
I commend them too for being so open but I was offered no where near 17k for an unworn SD blue dial so bit confused on the pricing here….mine was a 2023 too. Love the channel though 👍🫶
The TT rootbeer GMT is now retailing at £14750 not £14300.
December 23, it was £13600 rrp (!)
Charlie has his finger on the current pulse of Rolex resale market. His transparency is reassuring. If I ever buy from the gray market, I’d hop a plane across the pond and go directly to Charle.
Thanks so much for the support mate! 🙌🏻
Does anyone buy a watch because they like it anymore!? Personally think it’s nice to buy a watch from AD regardless if you could get slightly cheaper second hand! Obviously if thousands cheaper that’s different
Totally agree with you.
It’s not just about the watch it’s the whole experience you get when buying from the AD
Also agree. Price isn't everything.
No, it's harder to get a Rolex in small city. Plus so called waiting listing.
Totally agree, I registered for a DJ41 with the Wimbledon dial, two tone Rolesor, fluted bezel and Oyster bracelet. Got the call from the AD and paid the retail for it! Absolutely love it and it's my dream watch, didn't even think about resale as I bought it for me to enjoy and appreciate, it's my first ever Rolex and I'm chuffed to pieces! 🎉
@@Gattsu1986
Great stuff!
The fact that the watch will always be in your name on the Rolex registry is a nice touch also.
Wear it and enjoy it bud.
So basically spend over £100k at an AD to be eligible to buy a “hot piece” to make 2-3k “profit”.
People don’t buy Rolex’ to make money. They purchase them for the love of the pieces.
@@better_together-w4m No doubting that. But these cunning ADs try to get an inexperienced customer walking in through their doors spend a fortune on other stuff in the hope of getting the piece they want. Those in the know go straight to the likes of Charlie.
@@pjchling8088agree, but most of us have done some research/homework to know what to say Yes to and No to
@@pjchling8088I bought my son a tudor black bay 36 with discount and got a call for a gmt 4 month after.. just got to have luck with the ad
Let me guess- Buy: Pepsi, Daytona. Pass: Everything else
Let me guess, someone doesnt watch the video
I'm convinced that the only reason anyone buys a Rolex, is in the hope of flipping for a profit. So crass.
I find the cliches one million percent irritating. I'm not alone.
Agreed mate, one million percent!
Disagree 2 million percent!
@@Harrythehun Two peas...
Suggestion...save your money and get a special watch....VC or the like....rolex makes too many watches and people just want them because of the name...set yourself apart...
Buy what you like, who wants to be a sheep and wear the same pieces as everybody else eg stainless black Sub, Batgirl, blue dial DJ41? Yawn.
just picked a steel sea dweller last month idk if it's a good buy but i definitely liked it :)
You should always buy what you like. You never lose that way 👍
If you like it, that’s all that matters! That’s what owning a luxury timepiece is all about 🙌🏻💯
Buy what you love!!! Wear it and enjoy it. If you can't afford to lose 20% on a watch when it comes time to move on, don't buy it.
Buy what you love, you will never go wrong 🙌🏻💯
I do love your Sunday night videos, highly entertaining
Really appreciate that mate, so glad you like them! 🙏
Do not buy list is being expanded. Now white and black steele Sky-dwellers are do not buys. Champagne and black bi metal Daytonas joined do not buy list as well. All explorers except Polar were added also. Next probably all smooth bezel DJ 41 will hit the list.
Thanks Charlie for latest updates regarding passing or buying. Always enjoy your thoughts and opinions.👍👍
My pleasure glad you enjoy them 👍🏻
Buy or pass? It’s simple. Buy what you want to wear, and don’t buy what you don’t want. It’s that simple. Stop trying to help a dying flipper market. You should be informing people on the market pricing for what they want to wear, not what flippers can make money on. You’re part of the problem.
Steel Sky Dweller with a Blue dial on Jubilee - Incredibly difficult to obtain at AD. It doesn't matter much between 32x (discontinued) and 33x references if you are looking to buy grey. This particular model should slowly creep back up in price over the coming months and is certainly one to hold for 5yrs+ - It's a VIP watch that Rolex AD's only sell to their heavy spenders.
Glad to see the profit draining out of these watches. This means flippers are not picking them up and people who actually want the watches to wear can get them now brand new at retail from an authorized dealer.
Good luck with that.
On the polar explorer I’m confused, why pass? As if you got it for 8500 that’s surely better than buying in the grey at just under 10k?
FFS. He offered me £10k, form an unworn 41MM Date just, Wimbledon dial, one on a jubilee , one on an oyster. Both models less than 24 hours from an AD. They must think we are morons. Covid prices have been over for two years. Whey are you buying at piss take prices, and selling at Covid prices. Let me think, as to why..... Shameless.
Can someone help.
I have a GMT2 2016 with B&P
Have someone wanting to give me £1,500 and a Tudor B Bay pink.... Thoughts
Lovely desired watches.....Way too expensive for what you get. Profit margins 1,000% to 10,000%. Without using gold or platinum the cost to manufacture a stainless steel watch from Rolex is near $500 per SKU. Pure 24 carat gold spot price is somewhere around USD$60 per gram. A Rolex with 50 grams of gold and the rest in stainless steel will see the gold value at $3,000 for 24 carat gold. Rolex waters their gold down to make it harder and more resilient to wear and tear. Therefore most gold Rolex watches are really worth only $3,500 but to then ask $35,000 is outrageous.
Just saying.
Rootbeer in Canada goes for 24500-26000 depending on year and condition. It’s a definite yes in Canada. I’m not sure why anyone would sell you the most in demand rolex to loose 1000-3000 pounds when you can sell them yourself in a dozens of watch groups. Batman/girl, mint green dj, sprite, root beer, steel Daytona, Skydweller in blue or green are all easy to sell.
Im 2/3rds into the video and every watch mentioned is a "PASS", WTF LOL!
So what this video is saying is, don't buy a Rolex from an AD 😂😂😂
Will you adjust prices now Rolex have had a price increase? Or does their price increase make no difference to the grey market?
Our current stock always remain the same price online after an increase. Any new stock in we will have to pay a higher price so of course will sell for a higher price.
feed back on the GMT Meteorite being sold these days at around $55000 US? Safe buy or will go below retail?
Very hard to say short term but should be a good one to have in the collection for the long term! 👍
Great video Charlie as usual, full of sensible honest advice to people , I’m glad it was a longer one as well this time , thank you mate and I will see you soon 💥💥👍🏻
Thank you Paul so pleased you enjoy them. Hope to speak soon take care 🙌🏼
I just picked up my first watch ever, a submariner no date
Congratulations mate, incredible model!
Oof two tone Daytonas get no love. I feel like they look cheaper than two tone GMTmasters or Datejusts.
I literally only like two references of the Daytona and Charlie is wearing one of them in this video lol.
You give 6k and sell for 8k 😟🤔 That’s over 33% mark up on luxury goods!
I offered you £16,600 for a watch last year and you wouldn’t budge on the 17k…That’s not good when your margins are so big.
Just saying! I own 2 businesses and that makes no sense to me because you was still trying to sell that watch months later and stock that’s not rotating is profit lost and capital sat.
You could have sold 3-4 watches in that time with the same capital
Hi! So I have just discovered your channel - great content! I have been thinking about buying Rolex Dayjust 41, fluted, jubilee bracelet with blue dial motif. The seller offered me $17,000 for this timepiece. But I watched your video on discontinued watches and I started reconsidering if its really worth it?
I like the watch itself and would like to buy for just wearing it, but I also dont want to overpay. Any piece of advice?
At the current conversion rate that’s £13,400 and is inline with the prices we’re seeing online. Most clients choose the plain dials, however, so it can prove a slower seller in the market!
But we’d always advise that you buy what you like and buy to wear, that way you can never go wrong 🙌🏻💯
This video is not talking about the thing Should You BUY or PASS, this video is asking you to buy his stock.
Crazy how right as this gets uploaded Rolex finally raised their RRPs across the board lol. Good content.
I still say the moment they release the root beer GMT on Jubilee I"ll be all over it lol.
Thanks for watching mate! A Jubilee Root Beer would be such a stunning combination!! 🙌
Why am I seeing the Rolex Sky Dweller 336933 over list, but you're saying it's underlist?? I'm currently on the list for this watch
Is the Submariner 126610LV MK2 Cermit/Starbucks now a pass, or is it still a buy?
Still a decent buy! Such a sought after and stunning timepiece, currently above retail for us to buy and sell 👍
@@thehonestwatchdealer Thanks, Charlie!
Thanks for being so honest and straight up - a rare thing in today's times.
Thank you I appreciate that 🙌🏼
The green Sky-Dweller would look better in gold, not steel.
That would be such a stunning combination! Imagine it on the new full gold jubilee bracelet 🤩👌🏻
@@thehonestwatchdealer True!
I’d love to see a receipt of you selling a Panda for the amount you’re saying … #fibs
Extremely informative. Thank you
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
For me it’s the Sky-Dweller, Oyster, 42 mm, Oystersteel and white gold with white dial on jubilee bracelet. I’d buy it purely because I love.. who cares if it’s considered entry level. I just love it. It’s definitely on my radar.. 😊
That’s what it’s all about! Buy what you like and you can never go wrong 🙌🏻💯
Don’t buy to flip. Buy to wear period
Buy to wear, you can never go wrong! 🙌🏻
Great video as always. My prediction is that this time next year, the only watches you'll be paying over retail for will be stainless steel GMTs, the most desirable Daytonas, Tiffany OP, Celebration OP and some Subs. Everything else you'll be paying less than retail, with you selling them at retail or slightly below.
Thanks for watching mate, glad you enjoyed! Intriguing prediction, only time will tell 🙌🏻
How I dislike this watch investor sheit. Buy a watch you like and enjoy it.
41mm Wimbledon everose jubilee selling below lists price?
Pass. The answer is pass. Stop buying any watch over RRP.
+1000
Hi , how much should I pay for new black submariner 2024 ? And were can I find follow it’s price ?
You can expect to pay around £12k for a brand new genuinely unworn full set 2024 Submariner Date from the grey market mate! 🙌🏻
I paid 17k USD for the bluesy out the door.
For me the Submariner with date, steel/gold blue dial.
These are the Coolest videos to watch . Great Job Charlie !!👍
Thanks for the support mate, really appreciated 👍🏻
I’ve been waiting for the GRNR for 4 months now. The Guinness I believe it’s called, 6:30 in your video, love it
Such a stunning combination, great choice mate 🙌🏻 Good luck with your purchase, hopefully you’ll get the call soon 👍🏻
@@thehonestwatchdealer yep, it arrived yesterday, collected now and just getting used to it. It really stands out. Worn it all day around Reading.
Have to admit I’m very aware when wearing it out.
Thoughts on the GMT Sprite Jubilee?
Such a stunning model, should be a good one to have in the collection long term 👌🏻
So is the datejust II sought after with the dark blue and azaro blue dial ?
Do you have any knowledge about the grey/used markets outside UK? Specifically in Norway, but also in other areas. When I buy a watch, I'm just happy if it keeps it's value. I'm not into this for profit (we have index funds for that...).
My local Rolex AD didn't want to put me on the list for an Explorer 124170 in March 2024.
Bluesy is £14200 at AD not £13700, would expect LWC to know that!
Thoughts on the 16622 for a first and only Rolex ?
Many thanks - great advice. The Roman Numerals are coming back!
How about the Datejust Oyster, 36 mm, Oystersteel and yellow gold
If looking for a profit on this one, it would be a pass. Although always buy what you will wear and enjoy!
let me save you 16 min, Rolex you should buy: NONE, are you kidding me hahaha LMAO
Rootbeer is coming closer and closer to my budget. That’s going to be another keeper. I like the new Daytona also but that won’t happen in my lifetime. I’m content with my black dial 116520. It’s interesting to see that Rolex is finally catching up with the grey dealers. Back to the good old days when you could get a used ss sport watch 30% below retail.
Had to check this video out, well, for just a few seconds. I’ve never seen those 3 words all together, “watch dealer and honest”. 😂
Just kidding. But no seriously your videos are getting boring. Same, same
A million % sure is quite a bit of %...
I pass on all partly cause I can’t afford them and because they are waaaaaayyyyy too overpriced. Even if I owned one I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it cause I’d be afraid of scratching it or getting held up at gun point for it. I’ll stick with Casio and Seiko 🤙🏻
Hi can you clear this up for me. You said GRNR you sell for about $20.5k no tax US and Rolex AD price is $18.5k US after tax but your still saying buy grey market? Thanks and love your videos!
Love this. You the man! Keep up the great content.
Thanks for the support mate, it’s really appreciated 🙌🏻
Why pass on a black dial, smooth bezel jubilee ? I’ve had mine 4 years and today I was offered £500 less than I paid
what anout a 2024 steel date black submariner? Is it a pass?
Such an iconic timepiece! Still a good buy, currently above retail for us to buy and sell 👍
Pass all unless its 30% discount.
Thank you Charlie. So much great advice!! Keep up your excellent work sir!
Appreciate the support mate! Thank you 👍
Can you provide thoughts on the Deepsea James Cameron? (Black/blue dial) I’m looking to invest and unsure what the market is like on that model? Cheers
Watches aren’t investments - buy it because you like it - no other reason.
The JC is a very popular model and we sell lots at LWC. You should always buy what you like 👍🏻
My advice would be not to invest in things you aren’t knowledgeable about. Great watch to buy and wear though.
You may find your prices are out of date for precious metal models since the Rolex price increase on 1 June! The Oysterflex Daytonas for instance have increased by over £1000!
great video again! thank you very much. I was wondering is it not possible to start a discord? I would get in right away! Until the next video, keep up the good work with your videos
Really appreciate the support mate! Great idea with a discord, we’ll look into it 👍🏻
@@thehonestwatchdealer You're welcome, I follow more watch youtubers and many already have a discord. exchanging ideas, opinions about watches, questions that people may have. there are many possibilities. look forward to it!🫡
Supply and demand. Simple as that. 😊
Ref the white/black dial SD. Every Tom dick and harry ( and usually undesirables) have the blue and green dial. Yet to see a white face in jubilee. I’d say that’s a very rare watch.
I have the same daytona diamond dial but on a oysterflex, was this a buy?
Congrats on acquiring such a stunning timepiece! Most clients we deal with want a plain dial in the Oysterflex range, however, that model still trades for around retail 👍
Is there anyway u can review women watch.
Love your transparency, Charlie !!!
Thanks for the support mate, much appreciated 👍
I have the two tone in white dial. I get more compliments on this than my Hulk 😭
It’s a stunning configuration, a really eye catching model 🙌🏻
Excellent video Charlie, as always. Thanks for the update on Rolex, it's a lot more than anyone else does on UA-cam.
Thank you for watching, much appreciated 👌🏻
So many other watch brands... Rolex is dead, overhyped and a slave to its own model.. they cant take any risks or innovate... Their own fan base gatekeepers make sure of that time and time again
Market updates are the best 💯! A way to improve your channel is by having two video uploads a week, such as a midweek video on Wednesday!
Charlie can you bring back the old school vest and button down shirt for some nostalgia during one of the videos!??? :)
Opinions on the fluted bezele jubille Datejust 41 in Black?
I have the two tone variant, and I love it🤷🏻♂️👍
A very classy looking model 👌🏻
He basically says he will buy it and mark it up 20%. Basically use that as a negotiating tool.
Best episode
Glad you enjoyed it mate, much appreciated 👌🏻
You calculate a high profit in your watches . Good luck to find guys sell you the watches .
So what’s stopping anyone from selling on their own if he’s always reselling them for profit off your selling price?
I started collecting Rolex watches first one in 1986 have got 8 Rolex today my fav is Silver Daytona got it 2011 . Stopped wearing them over this last year to many guys getting mugged for there Rolex
Where do you live mate England? Get your watches insured and try to enjoy them you only live once don’t let scum ruin it. But I do get your concerns I try to be sensible but can happen anywhere

Gutted mate I got my grandchild who was six months at the time. A 36 mm date just with an oyster bracelet black face stainless steel. We paid in 2020 we asked for a 2019 model don’t really know if it is to be honest I’ve never check that. So basically he’s four years of age now and he’s getting it when he’s 18. It’s on a box that spins round all the time. We paid £5650. Have I messed up? Seeing that the top faces the black doesn’t come into it. Absolutely gutted. Mate keep this videos coming because the fantastic. God bless you mate
Glad you’re enjoying the content mate, it’s much appreciated! 👍🏻
If you’re gifting it to your Grandchild market value and market popularity isn’t important! If you like it and your Grandchild will wear it and enjoy it and it holds sentimental value, that’s all that matters 🙌🏻
Never thought there was so much to buying a watch!
