The price correction is well underway, per recent swiss workers work time reduction and less production which began at mid 2023 carrying on to 2024. However the 2nd market is still getting the most popular pieces, indicating the "Trusted or favored buyers to get time pieces" are still flipping, same thing as backdoor AD sales except for now having a middle man. @@Watchtrader all that’s been said there is if you buy this watch/model to sell you will loose Xyz, but even if I bought that white gold sub to wear, the whole “you lost £10k” is irrelevant tbh.
I’ve got a couple Omegas and a Submariner. I love all of the watches but I’ve been dabbling in Seiko modded watches. I’ve built one for me and one for my wife. Those get worn more than our “expensive” watches. I like the fact that I built them myself and gives me a little more sense of accomplishment wearing it. 🤷♂️
The secondary market still has plenty of room to fall. When the secondary market price is below MSRP normalcy will have returned and the market will be healthy again. I can't wait for the profiteers to feel more pain in the coming year or two as Rolex brings more production online.
@@Watchtrader GMT maybe but not the Daytona. I think it will return to like how it used to be that you could walk in and sign up for a short waiting list and they will get you the watch you want within a reasonable timeframe. I think Rolex understands the current situation is not sustainable long term and that the painful AD experience is leaving a sour taste in the mouths of their next generation of customers. The person with money for a Daytona when they turn 50 isn't going to want one if they felt insulted by the company when they tried to acquire a sub in their 30s or 40s. They'll skip over Rolex and jump into a Patek. If normalcy doesn't return in the next couple years I predict a major decline in the brand over 10 years. That doesn't mean they'll go broke by any measure but I would bet on losing market share to brands like Omega or Breitling.
Christ I long for the day you can walk into an AD and try on a watch, pay for it and walk out with a smile on your face and your new watch instead of dancing to the tune of inflated prices at grey dealers who are only in for a quick buck. Buy low, sell high. Easy money.
Output increased and price increases . These will eventually lead to the downfall of Rolexes . Furthermore more and more consumers are getting fed up with the attitudes and practices of the so called ADs .
Rolex produces 1.2M watches every year, there's nothing exclusive on that and it is only sustainable because there is a huge demand. This will change soon. The real deal is AP and Patek
You guys are the most Rolex centric watch traders around... so boring !! You do realise there are other watch brands on the market too worth discussing. . I know you mainly do it for clickbait but still annoying.
I think Apple has completely substitute for Rolex. I wear my Apple Watch all the time and my Sub I don't wear, I will probably sell it. Once I will able to afford a better watch, I will buy Patek or AP. But I will never buy another Rolex, it doesn't feel luxurious, so Apple Watch is much better as my daily.
@@Watchtrader because everyone has one, it’s like Apple Watch, but it costs 20 times more. Apple produces 38 million watches per year, Rolex produces 1.3 million watches per year, that’s not luxury, that’s not scarcity; that’s just mass production at very inflated prices. Patek produces 70k watches per year, AP around 50k, yes they cost on average 50k usd, but they give that feeling of luxury, it really is scarce….
@dk8797 The numbers are relative. There’s a lot of people in the world and 1.3 million per year is a tiny fraction. Lange’s 5k to Patek’s 70k is like Patek to Rolex yet there are many who would prefer to wear Patek over Lange. Subjective of course. Thanks for sharing
@@Watchtrader well you have to also incorporate few million fake Rolexes that are made every year and they honestly look identical. Wearing a Rolex is like wearing an LV bag, it’s no longer a luxury. I agree that 70k is too much for Patek, but it’s still 20 times less than Rolex. And Lange would never be able to sell 70k watches per years year, and trust me, Richemont would love to see those numbers, they are just not possible for Lange (it’s not due to production limitations, that’s just PR gimmick) 75% of Lange collection is selling 50% off retail prices on secondary market. Rolex is not luxury and no matter how strong the brand is, they are now mass “luxury” brand just like LV

However the 2nd market is still getting the most popular pieces, indicating the "Trusted or favored buyers to get time pieces" are still flipping, same thing as backdoor AD sales except for now having a middle man. Regular enthusiasts who crave, and patient wait, show up and ask to be considered are STILL very much getting Screwed!!!
Nice work here, Harry. Seems very thorough and thoughtfully presented! 👍
Thanks Rob - I hope Geneva is treating you well 🙏
It's been a grand wristwatch adventure!
Just got my Rootbeer after about 1.5 years of waiting after my previous Rolex purchase.
Congratulations!
Entire lux you market is coming back to its senses. Not paying more than 14k for an AP royal oak 41 in blue
How about buying a watch you want to own and wear? Is that not a thing?
Who said it wasn’t?
@@Watchtrader all that’s been said there is if you buy this watch/model to sell you will loose Xyz, but even if I bought that white gold sub to wear, the whole “you lost £10k” is irrelevant tbh.
I’ve got a couple Omegas and a Submariner. I love all of the watches but I’ve been dabbling in Seiko modded watches. I’ve built one for me and one for my wife. Those get worn more than our “expensive” watches. I like the fact that I built them myself and gives me a little more sense of accomplishment wearing it. 🤷♂️
Love to hear it, thanks for sharing 👌
The secondary market still has plenty of room to fall. When the secondary market price is below MSRP normalcy will have returned and the market will be healthy again. I can't wait for the profiteers to feel more pain in the coming year or two as Rolex brings more production online.
Do you think a steel Daytona or GMT-Master II will have a market value under the retail price in the next year or two?
Easy money.
What do you think about the many watches that you can purchase below retail price from watch dealers?
We need to teach rolex a lesson. Time to boycott !!!
That's my sea dweller
Offering Rolex 1665 sea dweller 1974 double red tropical. All original. One owner 50 years rolex. Hearing offers..!
Nice watch! Please use the sell page on our website to receive an offer. Thank you
I waited for months to get a Deepsea, instead I purchased a Seamaster....screw Rolex
The Seamaster is a beautiful watch. It’s also a better looking watch from one of the best manufacturers in the world. Not a bad idea.
Explorer 124270?
Noted for future 👌
Posh geordie, Mr sit down wee. 😂
Love you guys but this format reading from a script is so dull. Do what you do best and keep it real
Thanks for the feedback
I like it is clear and I love hearing this guy speak
Price adjustment only for big hitter watches on grey but lower end still hanging around retail prices.
Did he just call a two tone GMT ''The Zombie'' lol definitely make it up as he goes along this one.
Google it 🔎
It's been called the Zombie well before this video. Well before.
Datejust price are droping hard !!
The Datejust has seen one of the smallest price changes over the last few years
What would a 2024 unworn Starbucks be?
Overpriced if buying from here !
Buy a Rolex, get robbed😩
If someone has enough money for a Rolex, they can likely buy steroids and get super buffed. Nobody is going to rob a super buffed guy.
3k watches
I would give you £50 for any Rolex that’s cash.
A Rolex is a watch, it isn't cash 🙄
I will still pay £50 cash for a Rolex. The Rolex is a watch. My cash is cash.
@@johnobrien8398 And the 'English' in your original comment was gibberish.
You understood the gibberish didn’t you are you selling watches for cash or for watches. You are very serious.
Output increased and price increases . These will eventually lead to the downfall of Rolexes . Furthermore more and more consumers are getting fed up with the attitudes and practices of the so called ADs .
Rolex has been in business for over 100 years. Is now the time that changes? Thanks for sharing
At sometime Rolex will loose market share as an over rated over priced watch.
Subjective, maybe, maybe not 🤷♂️
yacht master?
Rolex produces 1.2M watches every year, there's nothing exclusive on that and it is only sustainable because there is a huge demand. This will change soon. The real deal is AP and Patek
Interesting take, thanks for sharing
AD's are like real estate agent, very crooked market.
All are sharks
This video is about watches
@@Watchtradersounds a bit fishy to me😂
You guys are the most Rolex centric watch traders around... so boring !!
You do realise there are other watch brands on the market too worth discussing. .
I know you mainly do it for clickbait but still annoying.
Then if you dislike Rolex, you know which channel not to watch. Goodbye.
@@David-yd6ur Oh no, someone needs to keep these guys on their toes.
@@David-yd6ur - I agree. Rolex watches are the best ever. Better than Patek if you think about it
4:15. Not less examples, but fewer examples, grammar mistake.
Interesting take. Why don’t you think Rolex feels luxurious?
You're kidding yourself with that pretzel logic...
