I've decided to buy my first luxury watch and I really love the datejust fluted with jubilee with blue dial. From what I understand this is the entry level watch so I won't even have to wait a long time to get it? Also, it's a great watch that retains its value (not planning to sell it but it's good to know it will maintain it's value in the future).

This was absolutely spot on. I really enjoyed the overview. I’m sure it will help many people with their decisions. Not that I buy watches to make money. I buy what I like to wear and hopefully keep until I pass them along. But I also want to know I’m getting value for money. Good news is - you won’t go too wrong with most any Rolex at retail. 1. the first watch steel gold with black dial does not list for 12.1k, it lists for 14.3k on the Rolex website. 2. people do not buy these watches to sell, they buy them because they like them, so re-sale value means nothing.

Finally got the call yesterday. Not from the original AD who I've been on the list for 1 year but another one with no Purchase History. was only on the list 6 weeks one very happy boy 😂👍🏼
Which would you choose? 39mm Explorer 214270 or 40mm Air King 116900. For value, plus future return.
Both are similar investments but i feel the 39mm will do better long term.

Such a nice watch watch but has always been a slower seller than the other sports professional models unfortunately. Price wise an over list watch and higher than the blue dial 👍🏻

The issue these Grey dealers have is the Rolex Certified Pre Owned. It has completely rocked the Grey dealers. My friend is an established Grey dealer and he says the Certified Pre Owned is big competition. Well reality is if you are going to end up buying used at the over list market price then why use the Grey dealer. Go straight to Rolex AD for the same money

Why do you think Bluesy and DayDate are under-list and not that popular? Too showy? For me they’re some of the most beautiful pieces and I wouldn’t ever sell them unless absolute necessary.

Yes the full steel models are more sought after than the bi-metal counterparts 👌🏻
Interesting video. How have you got new Rolexes and can sell them at list. Here in the USA. The dealers have no stock. And other jewelers are selling their stock at 30% over list.
Certain models are underlist, as soon as they are purchased from the AD lose quite a bit of value 👍
Where are you based? I'm interested in a Submariner but obviosuly it has to work for me especially in the current climate

Hi Damian, if you like the blue dial a good choice would be the DJ41, fluted bezel and Jubilee Bracelet. They do 3 blue dials .. the blue baton, azzurro Roman numeral and the blue motif dial 👍🏻

You should have no problem getting a 36mm datejust in the current market.

I recently picked up a used submariner 16618 yellow gold, blue bezel and dial. Thought it would be a good hold for a flip later on… guess I was wrong?
Yours is the discontinued model and depending on the condition and price you paid is a great long term watch 👍🏻

How about the platinum blue-ice diamond dial day-date. This watch is about $75k with taxes from the AD. Buy or pass ?
Unbelievable watch and over time a great buy. The rrp on platinum models is quite high so would have to hold out for a few years to get a good return.

We have sold 5 blue Sky’s in the last two weeks as the prices are very good in the UK .. £20k which I think is slightly lower than $25k great watch and great value in the current market 💯

I would rather buy a watch on the grey market rather than have to buy a load of watches or jewellery I dont want in the hope to get the watch I want. By the time you count the losses on the junk they dont want, you could have jadcyour watch months or years earlier by getting it on the grey market.

@@thehonestwatchdealer I bought it for two reasons. First it was the first Rolex I’ve bought from an AD and secondly I don’t think I’ll lose anything if I ever sell. Felt like it’s a no brainer to at least be able to say I’m a customer now.

Regarding the Omega comment on discounts….not true at all. I have been to multiple Tudor and Omega boutiques and dealers in last 6+ months, not only have they not been giving discounts, prices have gone up 3 times in last 12 months.
BUY what YOU like!!! If you're buying a watch as an investment you might get burned and you are ruining the watch collecting.
