Thank you for this. I’m returning my unopened unit and not installing. Saw another video of the drunk opening while driving. Destroyed the hood and windshield
I definitely want the frunk opener. It’s some serious money, but this is cheaper and more integrated than previous solutions I have seen, and waaaaay better than the actuator upgrade kit I bought from Evannex (that tried to bow the hood of the car!). I have found myself using the frunk more than the trunk since I have bought the car, primarily for grocery shopping. It small, has the nice little hooks for your bags, and, frankly, it turns heads when people see you putting groceries where the engine used to go. The ability to open the frunk with a voice command while having a bunch of stuff in my hand will be worth it over the many years I plan to drive this vehicle. Thanks for doing this.
Great video and product demo. I think it’s a great product but still a tad expensive even with the discount. I’d personally be more interested in both the Frunk and Trunk together at the $500 price range.
When I was maybe six I stuck my hand in the rear hatch door jam of my moms minivan(manual close hatch, so she slammed it pretty hard) and it closed all the way on my hand, but surprisingly didn't hurt bad at all.
At that point in time it was through Stats app. I also really like another one that was developed for the Apple Watch called watch for Tesla. I have reviews for both on my channel.
Great video man!! I love your Tesla!! I’m 29 from Memphis, I have cerebral palsy I use a walker and wheelchair, I’m learning how to drive, I’m going to a Special Special program that teach people with disabilities how to drive, I know I will learn to drive with lots of hard, I want a Mercedes eqc or jaguar I pace or Tesla for my first car! I love Electric cars! Do you like hocking loogies? I do it’s a guy thing lol! I like your Flip-flops!
Please post a detailed install video! There are a couple of install videos but they’re not very good. I live in east coast, so will be doing install myself.
Great video as always. On a side note...please, just once, end video with "I'm Casey Kasem, and this is America's Top 40" Lol 😁 JK. Great Voice. I watch videos twice...once just with sound, lol 😁
How was the wiring mess sorted when this was installed? Apparently the manufacturer instructions (that I have not seen) recommends gluing the wires down since the car doesn't have any mounting points in the frunk for securing them.
Great video, I am in Sacramento and a bit closer to the Bay Area than you. Did you drive to the Bay Area or did they come to you? I am close enough and have friends in the Bay Area, just curious. Thank you
Your video makes reference that there's installation services available in the LA area. I checked Hansshow (Larry Li) and he had no information about LA installers. Do you have any further information.
Call Steve Kim. 1-408-883-1999. After I recorded the video it turns out there was some miscommunication with the owner. However, they are working on expanding services.
"Automatic opening and closing frunks and trunks seem to be all the rage lately." "All the rage???" ...I'm not sure these are the things that define a generation.
The company needs to add a reverse feature if it senses resistance. Also, you do know it's illegal in the state of California to hold your phone to shoot video or anything else, while driving right?
I like your channel as it has been very informative. However, I can't justify paying $800 to have the frunk or trunk open and close with installation. I love the feature, but it is so expensive. i1Tesla's idea of switching out the struts and springs, I think that is good enough. This trunk/frunk remote feature by Hansshow is anything, but frugal. I mean, how often do you use the trunk or frunk? If Hansshow has a gizmo that will automatically open up my doors as I walk towards it for $500, then I'll bite because that gets used every day. Btw, did you know another Tesla UA-camr was able to get their viewers a 17%-21% discount code from the same company? Yours and Brian's only give 10%. What gives? 😂😅
Quick question, do you have the FSD or auto drive? Also do you think it's more frugal to lease or purchase? I'm skeptical about purchasing, because I'm not sure about the longevity of the company yet. Or do you think I'm safe buying?
Financially, it's always better to buy appreciating assets and lease depreciating assets. And no matter what Elon Musk says, their vehicles with Full Self Driving will never increase in value, it's still just a car. With that said I bought my Model 3 with cash, stupid I know but I didn't want payments or to pay interest on a loan. As far as longevity goes, Tesla has been in the auto industry for over a decade now and have 100's of thousands of vehicles on the road. But ultimately if you want a new vehicle every few years then lease, but if you keep your cars longer, I'd buy. Personally, I keep my vehicles 6 to 10 years. Either way go get yourself a Tesla, you will love it.
@@gameworkerty what you're forgetting is how valuable is your time, when trying to sell the car? It makes more financial sense that your money work for you, and you not work for your money. Buying depreciating assets doesn't make financial sense. Even more so if the vehicle was financed, because the interest paid has to be factored in as well.
A few months later it stopped latching intermittently. Eventually the motor gave out and had to be replaced. Toward the end it stopped latching more times than not. That’s why I replaced it with Tesla Offer. It’s been at least three months and it works flawlessly.
@@FrugalTeslaGuy That’s unfortunate. I purchased the Hansshow kit by watching your video but didn’t read the description until today :/. I read that they updated it a few times now and I’m hoping it won’t have any issues. Thanks for the review!
Good question. Although I don't know for sure, I do know there was no cutting or splicing of wires so you could technically remove it without anyone ever knowing you did it in the first place.
You do know it's illegal in California to be messing with your phone while driving don't you? Other than that this was an informative video. I'll get this product once they add a reverse feature for safety.
@@MrGoogle87 It plugs directly to the 12 volt battery of the car as a power source. It has nothing to do with the Tesla software and future updates will never impact the performance of the auto frunk.
@@MrGoogle87 The app is sending a basic command to the car. So yes, the software makes that happen but unless Tesla decides they longer want the frunk to be opened from the app, the auto frunk will continue to work without any issues.
Had such a poor experience with hanshaw and their customer service I would not recommend their product either. Same issue with my Model Y, what a waste of my money!

Bad product! Super bad customer service. I got a model Y back lights, it was not working within a month and I wait for two weeks for customer reply. They just offer 80% refund. If you want a fully refund, they will let you ship it back to China and then they will refund full amount to you. Can you believe that as a customer bought this not qualify product and you have to pay for it. Then if you require for replace, they will just send you one of the three parts, which one part of light is broken, they won't ship a new whole lights to you. Funny right! shit compony! If you want to try their products, get ready to pay for them.
