The combination of FSD (Supervised) being aware of everything that's going on 360° around the Tesla and taking action instantly to avoid dangerous situations, plus a human driver (me) ready to step in when it falters, has proven to be far, far safer than either FSD or a human driver by themselves. All I worry about, whether or not FSD is engaged, is other drivers drying to kill me; and FSD addresses that concern very effectively.
Its Omar with his Elon mode (AKA Nag Free) enabled, I need that version. Thanks Omar! I still wonder how many people that say FSD sucks or will never get to level 3 plus have even used it.

Took delivery of my 2024 Model 3 with FSD yesterday, and while it has taken awhile to calibrate the cameras I should be able to use FSD 12.3.4 today! Absolutely thrilling :)
just a fyi if you’re running the newest software you might not be able to and might be stuck with V11. it sucks but you should know now so you’re not too disappointed if it is running too new of software
My 2020 Y with 12.3.4 does well most of the time but where it really struggles is making a left hand turn where a country road turns and you cannot see what's coming from the right due to trees/bushes. It will literally just bolts across the lanes without slowing or using a turn signal. Had a close call twice due to this. The other issue I am having is again on a country road where we are traveling about 50 mph and are coming around a gentle turn to an intersection with a red light. I can clearly see across the farm fields that the light is red and that there are cars stopped at the light yet the car just barrels around the turn and only aggressively brakes at the last moment. More than once I had to intervene so we did not crash into the car stopped at the light in front of me. It's way better than it used to be but man oh man we have some work to do before RoboTaxi would be a reality in the country.
My dad is the exact baby boomer age, and he actually has high hopes for this. Even if he has to "switch to manual" in case of a circus marching through town or something, he will not be in embarrassingly slow old man mode or dangerously fast old man keeping up with traffic mode. This can handle driving through an unknown city at full speed while navigating just fine. That is a scary proposition for many people even when young and fit!
@@sparkysho-ze7nm Not yet. But if you made the stupid decision to drive drunk, switching on FSD would be almost as smart as that was stupid. The piano may have been drinking but Teslas don't.

Great video - FSD has made incredible strides and I use it daily in my MYLR (best car ever). We are literally on the cusp of autonomy and its great to part of the process. Just made the jump and purchased FSD (had been subscribing monthly) - well worth the $2K plus tax upgrade price from enhanced autopilot. Keep up the videos!
Just last week, my country Singapore had a terrible car accident. Reckless driving, caused multiple collisions , 2 persons passed away and a few injured. Camera captured the driver drive dangerously by over taking the front car and then swerve back but miscalculate or not sure what happen he knock the other car and he didn’t stop, attempt to run red light and hit the next oncoming vehicle and cause multiple collision.… Imagine all the human carelessness or reckless driving accident can be prevented by autonomous driving.
"by over taking the front car and then swerve back but miscalculate" Only the cops will get this version of FSD. Probably worth it to just become a cop ;-)
In Poland 3-4 thousands of people are dying each year in car accidents. Most of them are just like you said, taking over a slower car or with pedestrians. There are reckless or drunk drivers, but a mistake can happen to anyone, especially if someone is tired after a long day. In a good weather condition FSD is already safer than average driver, just because it doesn't get tired. Still a lot to improve, but in 10 years I expect to do not even watch the road and focus on something else.
23:24 - you can also get auto pilot for free with every Tesla. They used to be little different between it and FSD Beta, that gap has grown dramatically and will continue to widen at an increasing rate.
I feel it handles this kind of city driving very well. I find it really gets taken advantage of and struggles in busy suburbs like around Houston. Lots of 4 lane parkways with heavy traffic. It also has a bad propensity to get in the left lane even when not going any faster than right lane traffic. Which, in this kind of traffic where I live does not make you popular with other drivers. Lots of great progress but I have to disengage a lot to not be that car on the road blocking traffic. It's overall very safe and capable but has some work to go still.
I'm a tesla fan and investor but am tired of seeing FSD videos in San Francisco....we need to see videos all across north America to see its true use cases.
I think Tesla just axed their entire marketing team (which admittedly was pretty small) during the layoffs. Probably won't see any more ads in the near future.
Great Demo. I totally love the FSD. I am currently on V12.3.3. Cant's wait to get the 12.3.5. How come you can do Hands-Free operation? How can we get it?
Nice thoughts. I am now wondering why I or anyone else would hire any other car if visiting USA again. If I'm going to road trip 1000s of miles as have done before, I want an fsd Tesla thankyou very much. No doubt!
Denial? huh? everybody knows teslas can do that. I could give less fucks about it, i just see the quality of the car and the price tag and i'm out especially the teslas build in the US are utter trash... seems like the chinese and German produced cars getting better.
That makes 3 of us! My FSD v12.3.4 requires near constant contact with steering wheel and I get dinged if I take my eyes away from road for more than 2 seconds. What gives? Did you hack the car? Did Elon give you a special promo version? Be transparent, please.
FSD 12.3.4 takes me to work and back on a regular basis. Really don't have to take over until I get to work or home to park it in the parking garage or my home's garage.
What are time to be alive, watching this on Friday, 26 April 2024, witnessing the start of our abundance economy, exponential technology progress and implementation. Folks, we are going to live long! Exponential progress in technology.
This version of FSD looks soo smooth. I dunno what they changed but the difference is monumental even from a few version ago. More training data I guess? Recently saw a graph where they had exponential growth of training data recently. Tough competition for Ford blue cruise, Waymo and cruise.
Just rented a Tesla for a trip from Las Vegas to St. George Utah that had FSD and it was amazing (although it did make one critical mistake which I had to correct) My big question is, why didn't it ask you to put pressure on the steering wheel every minute or so? Mine required you to put some force on the steering wheel it seems like about once a minute, when using FSD.
Nice review of the latest Tesla FSD. BTW, How are you bypassing the blue warning flashing to touch the steering wheel (and not having to touch the steering wheel periodically)? Thanks.
He never responds to this question; but he has a special version of FSD which doesn't require periodic torque on the steering wheel. Search for "Elon mode". You can also respond to the prompt/blue screen by moving one of the two scroll wheels on the steering wheel up or down one notch-I use the left scroll wheel, which is the volume control. And if you wear sunglasses, you won't get the "Pay attention" warning.
@@BigBen621 Yeah. I then realised that he is not touching the wheel with his knee. I scroll the scroll wheels too, but find this rather cumbersome and a nuisance.
@@longlivetheclash _find this rather cumbersome and a nuisance_ I agree. I usually just rest a hand, palm down, on the rim of the wheel, at about the 4:30 (right hand) or 7:30 (left hand) position. I have to rest my hand somewhere, why not there? And the weight of my hand on the slope of the wheel at those points creates enough torque to avoid the nag entirely.
its not as good in PA where i am but it was basically unusable outside of the highway here on v11. Lots of farm, shoddy suburban and poorly marked roads. I intervene about less than 50% of drives but it is far better than the 100% it was prior. Area specific training will get it there😊
This would help elderly people who lives alone, especially those with no kids to still be mobile, get out of the house, doctor’s appointment, hospitals, do basic errands. This technology will only get even more sophisticated in the future.
I always thought I was a good driver. Driven trucks, yellow NYC taxis, and vcommuter vans multi million miles. Amazingly I have become much, much better since auto pilot, testing for, and FSD beta approval. And now, version 12.3.4 drives better than I 95+ percent of the time. Perfect? Absolutely not. But, This is only going in One Direction.
@3:11 Did you get some indication that there were no people getting off the bus and heading across the street from the bus? I would have inched up close to that bus to be certain, however I do leave backing up to my cross-traffic detectors. So, I guess my question is, does the Tesla have front cross traffic detectors (for hidden pedestrians)?
Generally, they don't. I like to think I would have been more careful in that situation, but it can be hard to judge how dangerous things are based on a video like this. FSD also has very fast reflexes. But a kid running out in the road without looking in front of a stopped bus is a scary thought.
And it knows that Chuck-fil-a refuses to serve their customers on Sunday so it suggests taking you to Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen instead! That would be a truly valuable example of FSD being a useful agent. If you think about it you can imagine other extensions of FSD that fit this agent model.
Would like to see an option where you can pay a premium for "Transporter" mode in cases of emergency where it will drive a bit more aggressively and take you to your emergency destination like a hospital faster than normal humans would drive.
People think that FSD has to be perfect before it is approved but it doesn't, it only has to show that it is safer than humans, and that's not a tall order, I think it is already there. Just like that joke about the two guys outrunning the bear, we can't outrun a bear says one, the other one says, I only have to outrun you.😄
It seems to be as good as Waymo in the areas Waymo operates (and in many more places besides), so I'd say yes. Full coverage of the U.S. will take time but I think it's ready to go in a lot of cities.
Correct it's been better than a human driver since it was first released. The governments may just want to identify who the blame party is in case of accidents.
I've just seen a video of one with the road situation on the screen instead of on the dash and even a summon from a big car park. Before that was crap, but this actually worked from far away. I must admit it's impressive. Just curious how it behaves in rural areas or with sudden emergency services flying by. What does it do in case traffic lights are out or in those hurricane areas with debris everywhere.
I think Uber and Lyft drivers will be using FSD now to make their lives easier. A price tag of @$99 per month is nothing if you are driving full time or even part time on a Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays.
I remember when calculators came out and people would do a math problem first then use a calculator because they didn’t trust the new tech. Then after about a year people would start using the calculator first or to check their work. Tesla is going through the same thing
Cool! I am not sure but I saw a, Waymo passing by? It was fast! I’m kind of curious to see the screen on the, Tesla, more closer, to see how it reads other self driving cars! :)
Tesla shareholder/bull here, have had FSD since prior to V11. Agree with V12 being really great, but in my experience, it is not as good as WMC is stating here. still makes major mistakes, can't get into the proper lane, misses freeway exits, doesn't creep at red light for right turns sometimes, indecisive when presented with 2 lanes to choose from. I believe freeway is still on V11. Hopefully with the new end to end approach and massive increase in compute power we see freeway FSD get to V12 and these issues get resolved quickly. But yeah IMO WMC overestimates FSD ability at this time.
I wonder what happens in snow conditions when pavement markings are concealed. Are the turn lanes and control lines in memory and being weighted in decision making?
I see people saying if I have to babysit it then it's not worthwhile at all. I would counter to say that 90% of the value I get from fsd is that when visiting dense downtowns or new cities, it ALWAYS picks the right lanes and knows where to go. It's such an enormous load off to not be trying to decipher the gps and figure out what lane is a one way or not or whatever. Radically changed how I view driving
Has any of the naysayers actually drove FSD. Who's that idiot on X who does the safety test with child mannequins? What's his problem? Everyone should be on board with this. It'll save millions of lives.
Uh... so, let's suppose all cars are instantly Teslas.. And let's suppose they save all the lives in all the accidents. That's about 1.3 million lives a year. So, yeah, sure.
FSD is dangerous. It often makes mistakes when you least expect it. Yet, with a supervisor who understands when it's about to crash, it is arguably safer than a human. I'm sure you have seen it rub curbs, hit vehicles (on video in some circumstances), and act quite unpredictable in some scenarios?
@@club6525 I doubt you actually have relevant recent experience with FSD or you wouldn't be making such a statement. Even as we speak, the bad habits (curb rash, too close to road margin, etc) and bad performance behaviors are being fixed in damn-near real-time.
He is Dan O'Dowd, who has a competing self-driving software company and he cheats to create videos that make Tesla's look dangerous. @@essel23fly _Aren't you always worrying about it trying to kill you at any moment though?_
Not in the least.
Excellent video experience with commentary showing all the screens controls steering and pedals..
Nice one!
Its Omar with his Elon mode (AKA Nag Free) enabled, I need that version. Thanks Omar! I still wonder how many people that say FSD sucks or will never get to level 3 plus have even used it.

It rubs on the wheel lightly

The knee. Got it.
@@jamalhasan2821wow was super confused. Now I can’t unsee. Gonna have to try out the knee tap
My car reminds me to shake the steering every minute! How are you using FSD completely handsfree? This is weird! Also it still makes mistakes in some left or right turns! It is impressive how much it has developed. Stops at all red lights and stop signs, slows down for speed bumps, or pedestrians… it’s almost there! 🤞
The possibility to lock on „FSD only“ would be good for giving the car to anyone else, who is not so approved in driving
Great commentary and drive. Many drivers race through "yellow", and wind up running on red. Understand the desire, but 30-40 seconds won't change my life. I'll wait.
Its like having 5 people in the drivers seat instead of one
Incredible demonstration of 12.3.5. The way your car handled behind that silver VW Golf turning left was surreal, like a human.

@@thestonksmarket1897 congrats hope it you can try it
@@ezrakhuzadi119 this is where I am at now with 2024.8.9 / 11.4.9. This sucks big time.
You have HW4, not gonna be the same as this.
As someone who HATES driving in right side of road countries, FSD is a must . Lives will be saved for sure.
could just say you hate driving as only a handful of places are left drive, and only 2 of those are worth going to.

Can the Tesla read the traffic sign that says slow or stop when they switch it? You know, when there's construction like that.
3:06 autonomous vehicles dominate the scene!
He didn't even notice it.
Had to pause and do a double take. This is just wild! Feels really good to know where the future is headed.
You hit every point!!! Great job!!! Very enjoyable and informative. Thank you
FSD will excellent for elderly that won't able to renew their license
Huge baby boomer group getting too old soon.
Mothers against drunk drivers approved???
FSD has become another set of eyes (another tool) for me. It truly makes my drives safer and I'm definitely less tired after long road trips.
@@sparkysho-ze7nm Not yet. But if you made the stupid decision to drive drunk, switching on FSD would be almost as smart as that was stupid. The piano may have been drinking but Teslas don't.
Thanks

Man, you turn from a normal UA-camr to the world’s greatest salesman !
good for you, if only one person is saved by using FSD because of your video, your your time in this world has been worth it !
the value proposition demonstrated here is actually mind boggling insane. with a little imagination, the possibilities are boundless.
I paused the video at 13:26,. I was already convinced to get a Tesla and I’ve been saving up for a couple of years now, but you just made it in this video to be more true to myself to save up for one. My goal is to save up for one by December. Thank you so much for making this video.❤
Some of the worst drivers I know are convinced they are great drivers and the only issue is the rest of the world does not know how to drive.
Camera captured the driver drive dangerously by over taking the front car and then swerve back but miscalculate or not sure what happen he knock the other car and he didn’t stop, attempt to run red light and hit the next oncoming vehicle and cause multiple collision.…
Imagine all the human carelessness or reckless driving accident can be prevented by autonomous driving.
"by over taking the front car and then swerve back but miscalculate" Only the cops will get this version of FSD. Probably worth it to just become a cop ;-)
Exactly imagine the nanny state world where risk is never allowed.
@@nordlandak6853yea because we want roads to be risky
In Poland 3-4 thousands of people are dying each year in car accidents. Most of them are just like you said, taking over a slower car or with pedestrians. There are reckless or drunk drivers, but a mistake can happen to anyone, especially if someone is tired after a long day. In a good weather condition FSD is already safer than average driver, just because it doesn't get tired. Still a lot to improve, but in 10 years I expect to do not even watch the road and focus on something else.
@@nordlandak6853Otherwise known as Singapore!
Awesome demonstration of just how good it is. Blows my mind how behind the curve people are on this
23:24 - you can also get auto pilot for free with every Tesla. They used to be little different between it and FSD Beta, that gap has grown dramatically and will continue to widen at an increasing rate.
I was unsure which ramp/exit recently and switched on FSD cuz I knew it would know and it picked correctly 👏👏
Hi I’m looking for someone that Would invest in me. Regarding Tesla. Please respond. This is my daughter and I channel.
Nice video! Tesla could use your consulting on the new advertising campaign.
I think Tesla just axed their entire marketing team (which admittedly was pretty small) during the layoffs. Probably won't see any more ads in the near future.
@@LukewarmEnthusiast yes, but they fired them because they sucked. I believe Elon confirmed
Great Demo. I totally love the FSD. I am currently on V12.3.3. Cant's wait to get the 12.3.5. How come you can do Hands-Free operation? How can we get it?
When it's good enough to not require supervision, the world will be changed forever. The Robocab is going to be amazing. 8/8 can't come fast enough!
Nice thoughts. I am now wondering why I or anyone else would hire any other car if visiting USA again.
If I'm going to road trip 1000s of miles as have done before, I want an fsd Tesla thankyou very much. No doubt!
It is amazing how people are in denial. Oh well eventually they will understand.
Denial? huh? everybody knows teslas can do that. I could give less fucks about it, i just see the quality of the car and the price tag and i'm out especially the teslas build in the US are utter trash... seems like the chinese and German produced cars getting better.

What version do you have where you don’t receive a prompt from the car to keep your hands on the wheel?
I have the same question
That makes 3 of us! My FSD v12.3.4 requires near constant contact with steering wheel and I get dinged if I take my eyes away from road for more than 2 seconds.
What gives? Did you hack the car? Did Elon give you a special promo version?
Be transparent, please.
Omar, your videos must be watched by everyone! Your videos need to be the “go to” videos by Tesla!

Do you have to touch the steering wheel every few minutes??
Finally with commenting and real time street audio. I love it. Please more like this! And great FSD drive by the way.
This video that everyone should share for those who doubt or are unfamiliar with Tesla FSD
I'm just hear to laugh out loud at the thought of Dan O'Dowd having an apoplectic fit while he's watching this. Nicely narrated, Omar!
This is the best you have presented. Great job.
I own a model Y, I really wish Europe would allow FSD software stack that you guys get
No worries yall will get it soon! 😊
@@longlivetheclash _find this rather cumbersome and a nuisance_
I agree.
@@BigBen621 I’ll try this mate. Thanks for the tip. This FSD is pretty damn impressive!
its not as good in PA where i am but it was basically unusable outside of the highway here on v11. Lots of farm, shoddy suburban and poorly marked roads.
I intervene about less than 50% of drives but it is far better than the 100% it was prior. Area specific training will get it there😊
Would be great if it could try to dodge some of the numerous PA potholes.
I wonder how much longer it will take before you can say 'take me to chik-fil-a's drive thru' and it leads you all the way into the lane.
Pretty soon I’m guessing!😊
And Grokk berates you about your diet on the way.
Would like to see an option where you can pay a premium for "Transporter" mode in cases of emergency where it will drive a bit more aggressively and take you to your emergency destination like a hospital faster than normal humans would drive.
“Go get me chick fil a and bring it back”
An outstanding drive and commentary. Thank you.
@@catbert7 yup, they should apply for S.F. !
Correct it's been better than a human driver since it was first released. The governments may just want to identify who the blame party is in case of accidents.
@@begcoins The legal issues around accidents are mostly worked out by the likes of Waymo.

Yes freeway is still v11
FSD works best in S.F. area. Probably where the most videos came from.

@@geirmyrvagnes8718 Me too.
If you read the comments, his claims are easily refuted and it is frequently pointed out that he is overriding safety features and ignoring other defects that he himself has probably created in an effort to mislead the public. He's a joke. Everyone points and laughs at him.
@@club6525 Even if it worked consistently as well as it sometimes works, it still falls well short of the title of this video and the tone of this channel, and any reasonable basic requirements we should have of a driver.

I find the yellow light to be different for me. Three times now I crossed a last second yellow and it braked slightly and decided to re-accelerate and run a legal yellow.
