When a fresh and good grade of beef is cooked for a burger 🍔 the flavor of the beef is enough. When you add ketchup, mustered and cheese that's your added flavor.
Same as a Wendy's for the most part, except, the burgers were pressed a lot lighter. We kept them as thick as possible to extend the cooking time, unless we needed to deliberately fast-cook them for a sudden rush. And if they turned into hockey pucks from overcooking, they end up getting completely chopped up and re-boiled up to a fluffier texture, then used as chili meat. (Edit: I say re-boiled because the holding tank ran hot. If the display said 180 they'd be simmering, so we were technically out of compliance there.)
I work in the food industry too and it’s funny how the box of gloves actually makes you touch the gloves all round the outside before putting them on because of how they are packed which pretty much defeats the purpose of putting them on, they need to find a better way of packaging them
Gloves have their place but are generally a waste of time. The time they can take to put on (some types are easier than others) can be saved by using the old tried and true method of having a small bucket of water with sanitizing solution or bleach under the work station. That gloves really don't prevent cross contamination any better really bothers me when workers are forced to constantly use them.

Having watch both McDonald's and Five Guys... The difference... Five Guys is almost like a real restaurant's kitchen. The cook literally has to flip the burgers. It's almost bare bones. McDonald's have more machines and gadgets and systems. There's no flipping burgers. I think Five Guys depend more on the skill of the cooks. McDonald's depend less on worker's skills, but more on systems, machines, "tricks".
Looks amazing. I'd be tempted to pull those burgers off a little sooner but I'm sure you're doing exactly as trained and food safety is no joke for any business like this.
@@kizzlekakes That's actually why I don't eat there, maybe once every couple years. They are usually pink in the center. You don't eat pink ground beef. Only steak you can eat pink or nearly rare. The little "juices" are not worth risking a trip to the hospital with a horrific stomach bug. Save your money and enjoy a good ribeye
@@2jzandys444 Not really the same, but where I work, there was a brief period where the meat that the cooks had was ever so slightly pink even after being completely fully cooked, because the meat they had at the time, for that period of time, had some sort of dye in there. Maybe there's something similar going on there?
@@2jzandys444 You can eat a little pink in your ground beef if it has been kept well and food poisoning rarely necessitates a hospital visit. Also, steak tartare is raw ground beef, but presumably they grind it there so its probably a little safer.

used to do the same thing. this is 100% accurate. I was the only young adult who was older than 18 so they really took advantage of me at that grill
yeah, why i quit. The company relied too much on minors.
My case right now ! Or they make u do BOH cuz ur faster and do ur job , they hire little kids that dontblike to work, sometimes theres 5 girls in the line and nobody cares to get the broom and swip im the only one , why? Cuz im the oldest i guess
Because the top 20% of workers do 80% of the work, it's like that everywhere.
I'm surprised Five Guys doesn't season the burgers. They still taste amazing!
they season the burger meat before they put it on the grill
@@videk9269 no they don’t
Disagree. The lack of seasoning puts five guys behind in n out and shake shack.
When a fresh and good grade of beef is cooked for a burger 🍔 the flavor of the beef is enough. When you add ketchup, mustered and cheese that's your added flavor.
@@calm1047 all they have to do is add a little salt and pepper. Their burgers would be 10 times better
If the display said 180 they'd be simmering, so we were technically out of compliance there.)
lesson here: don't order the Chili con Carne
I like this line POV a lot more than the McD's one thats for sure.
Never mash down on a burger after it's been cooking on the grill. You squeeze all the flavor out of it and make it dry as a bone.
Here in Brazil don't have Five Guys unfortunately. Seems to be really good and looks so fresh the veggies
Yes. All is fresh. Like double patties. Chips fried from fresh, not from frozen ❤️
Awesome job. Didn't hear you communicate with the line on your swings. Great on your co-worker to lend a hand as you were returing to the line. 💯🤟
Yh no hot or meat on the table
Idk what it is about five guys but their burgers are hands down the best.
I love Five Guys, but I can't afford to pay $17 for a bacon cheeseburger very often.
Man now I want a 5 guys burger but I'm on a McDonald's mcdouble budget!
I appreciate your hard work brother, hopefully I'll be blessed to have you make one of my burgers someday :)
I work in the food industry too and it’s funny how the box of gloves actually makes you touch the gloves all round the outside before putting them on because of how they are packed which pretty much defeats the purpose of putting them on, they need to find a better way of packaging them
Yeah, it is kinda annoying but it usually is not a problem because of how clean we keep our hands throughout the day.
Lol some FG employee on Reddit is trying to tell me that these are smash burgers 🤣🤣
Real burgers made by real people = awesome
Fun fact, my dad owns the company that makes y’all patty presses and smashers . Along with the sinks . All of the Napkin holders and stuff everything stainless steel we do for you guys . It’s really cool seeing a product we make being showcased on UA-cam
And our stickers are on the corner of y’all’s sinks !!! It’s surreal !!
Awesome 👌
whys everything so sharp
Your daddy needs to learn what "sharp edge" means and eliminate them. This sinks suck. Only good for washing your bloody cuts from the sink.
@@SOLDOZER then that sink isn’t from us then. you can email me to see our products never come with sharp edges lol. I understand your frustration but I guarantee if there’s not a southern stainless sticker on it then it didn’t come from us
That will be 600 dollars sir
frr 🤣 quality food tho
That'll be 90 dollars - Five Guys
Respect my man. Quality all the way.
3:22 why do this? it did nothing 🤣
you can see the shit it scraps up at the top of the grill... its not meant to fully clean it
Looks amazing. I'd be tempted to pull those burgers off a little sooner but I'm sure you're doing exactly as trained and food safety is no joke for any business like this.
That’s why I don’t eat there, over cooked and pressing all the juices out of the burger. I need flavor and juice.
Doubt it
@@kizzlekakes That's actually why I don't eat there, maybe once every couple years.
Medium rare burgers are fucking delicious, but ill only order it at a nicer restaurant or if I'm cooking it myself and I know its quality ground beef. Also, steak tartare is raw ground beef, but presumably they grind it there so its probably a little safer.
does anyone know what kind of cheese five guys uses? it's soo perfect for burgers! like i know it's american cheese but is it a specific brand or what?
The thing I used to like about five guys I used to eat that years ago was they didn’t hire the McDonald’s Burger King Wendy’s type workers like you didn’t get the sense that the workers were drug addicts. You didn’t get the sense that the workers were assholes. get the sense that the workers hated the job. made sure that the customers.Felt it. They were always happy to see you if you came there often they will recognize your face. It was a nice place at the time. I haven’t been there in years.
satisfying and makes me hungry
i dont mind paying the price that 5guys charge if they are really worth it, but they are NOT, they are good, but not worth the WAY OVERPRICED that they are!
I would think that $45.00 for a cheeseburger they would at least
have goldleaf mixed in there...
oh i love how clean this place is, makes me wanna work in restaurants again
Didn't think I was going to be so enamored by first person five guys, but this is dope. Might have to pull up for a burger and fries today 👌🏽 great video!
perhaps consider getting a vegan burger elsewhere instead to not do a gei
I'm having PTSD. I was @FG during the pandemic.
Never had 5 guys before but if I get the chance I'll be all over it thanks keep doin what your doing
You guys, are the REAL backbone of the world. All those in the fast food industry. Praise for all your work 🎉.
My work, Jamieson Produce Inc. an onion packing shed in eastern Oregon provides the onions 🧅 to Five Guy's restaurant locations.
Love your videos. Keep up the good work!
You got me hungry
Why is there only one guy working ? where are the other four ?
Gotta say. Store/kitchen is very clean 👌. I worked McDonald's grills back in the mid 1980's during the transition to the clamshell grills. We cleaned the grills the same way back then. Nice to see old traditions hold true 👍 😎🍔
nothing beats a fresh razor on the scraper. That was the best part about grilling
i love your peanuts more then anything on this earth :)
I only counted three guys.
I like the food there, but why does a double quarter pounder w/cheese cost $11? That’s insane
@BFTtheTRUTH I get you, but I can get a double quarter at McD’s for like $4 on sale and $5.50 regularly. Five Guys always been high, but this is redic
@@theshark84724 The thing is McDonalds is garbage quality compared to five guys which actually tastes like a nice restaurant burger and not drive-thru fast food. You get what you pay for and even though Five Guys is expensive, it's not overpriced compared to any burger place of comparable quality that you can easily find across the country.
yeah mcdonald's meat is shit compared to five guys
In Texas where i live a double bacon is $16 lol. Pretty sure its more than doubled. Got priced out of my favorite burgers
@@theshark84724 mcD’s add about 40% filler to their beef… lookup what that filler is 😮
Bro show the part where you charge a dude $27 for a burger and fries. That's my favorite part!
Crazy dude, i love the food but i went in the other day and got a “little burger” and small fry……21$
