I was the grill guy at a Wendy's in the late 80's. Very similar -yet our sandwich prep station was in line with the grill. I bet you get a trail of drippings on the floor walking those burgers over there.

That was the saddest smash I've ever seen.

dude.. first off you are charring those final 4 patties. You left the line to bring back one dish??? and returned to the line without changing your gloves. i doubt you got permission to record your work, and you never separated the patties from the grill when they were working in section 1. The patties you moved to 2 at the end were moved more to section 3's side instead of section 2. your communication could be better. let them know how many you have to sell, and QC should tell you what to sell? and those patties did not need to be flipped that many times.

At the 1:38 mark is one of the reasons I don't eat at Five Guys anymore. Two slices of cheese in the middle tastes very different than one slice on each burger. And please melt the cheese! Way too often I would get my burger, and the cheese wasn't melted enough. That really impacts taste! And not in a good way. The main reason? Too darn expensive.

I am so sorry you had to experience that. I know not everyone's experience working there is the same - but mine was thoroughly unpleasant. Now - their prices are just ridiculous.

I remember working at Five Guys all throughout college. My manager at the time, Jose, always harassed me because I was always tired, saying "You're never going to get anywhere if you're always so tired" or "You've never going to make more than me". 4 years later, I now make what he makes in 4 years, in one year.... So about being tired, Jose...

These comments crack me up. SO MANY people know how to "do it better", yet NONE have the cojones to invest their own money, identify a site, build it out, wait for building approvals, health dept pre-opening inspections, provision the restaurant, hire and train staff, and open. It's SO EASY, right Karen? Maybe see what the real world in a kitchen is like, then comparing something in a commercial setting to their perfect, sterile homes.

My entire life I was told to go to college so I don't "end up working at McDonald's". After wasting a ton of time and money on college and getting a "real" job sitting in a cubicle surrounded by pre-diabetic sociopaths, I determined I was grossly mislead.

Not one ounce of seasoning. I knew it. It's insane how an establishment charge the same price as a gourmet burger, and not impliment any flavor to them? Was charged $20 for Wendy's lvl burger and fries. Rather go to Wendy's.

Five Guys is hit or miss for me. Sometimes the person grilling the burgers presses them down too much on the flat top, releasing too much moisture and making them dry as hell. I don't press them like that at home and neither should they

I’d go eat at 5 Guys more often but it takes a grip of cash to eat there. Cost me like $30 for a couple burgers, some fries, and a couple sodas. Ridiculous….

The thing I used to like about five guys I used to eat that years ago was they didn’t hire the McDonald’s Burger King Wendy’s type workers like you didn’t get the sense that the workers were drug addicts. You didn’t get the sense that the workers were assholes. get the sense that the workers hated the job. made sure that the customers.Felt it. They were always happy to see you if you came there often they will recognize your face. It was a nice place at the time. I haven’t been there in years.

We all criticize Five guys for their mortgage level prices but in the end its not THAT bad for what you get. I do like it from time to time, just tastes fresher than other stuff. I can see why.

I’m getting Five Guys as soon as it opens. It’s expensive but wow such amazing burgers. Also some guy I was playing GTA V with years ago told me about this place. If he didn’t I would’ve never known about this place.
