Great video. It’s good to see Mike. A little background on Mike, for all you young guys, or those that don’t know anything about him…. Mike was a “Caporegime” (which is basically like a Director, in corporate terms) in the Mafia’s Colombo Family. So, he was A Boss (by dictionary definition), but he wasn’t THE Boss of the family. Mike was very highly-respected, and still is by the guys in the Mafia, today. He ran the largest money-making scheme in Mafia history, called the “gas tax scheme,” where he basically siphoned a few cents away from the government taxes on each gallon of gasoline. He left the Mafia to take care of his real family in the early 1990’s. He had an awakening and wanted to put them first, which is not possible when you’re a Made Member in The Mafia secret society brotherhood. He moved himself and his family out to California and didn’t have anything in his or their names and was very careful for many years. His former Boss, Carmine “The Snake” Persico, had a contract on his head for many years, but Persico was in jail, and Michael just ended up outliving most of the guys he dealt with, by being cunning, and things just kind of died down after many years of nothing happening. Michael’s dad (Sonny Franzese) was also like the Babe Ruth of Mobsters, so I personally think his father quietly stepped in, talked to Persico, and asked him to leave Mike alone.

Wow Michael is such a clever man. He really knows how to grow his channel and make people watch considering his age and background. Its pretty respectable to grow channel to such a size at age of 70!
Well the public interest in the mafia has been ongoing for decades. Fact of the matter is that he is the real deal. He is also pretty high up in the mafia hierarchy that he knows so much about the inner workings of it, more than your basic low level grunt or disposable thug would. The other fact of the matter is his alluring presence and way he carries himself, you just want to keep listening. He isn't pushy or abrasive or anything. Just tells it how it is. Great storyteller.
If I recall, this guy is a former capo, not a boss. A capo is a made man who is in charge of a crew. This is different from a boss, which is the highest position and acts as the head, followed by the underboss who acts as second in command. There is also the consigliere who acts as an advisor to the the boss and underboss.
He was a capo, but he was in charge of a really big crew (around 300 made members). So he was kind of a boss in his own right, although he certainly had to listen to the underboss and boss of his family.
I had a buddy obsessed with the mob and Yakuza. He was intelligent, pretty cool guy, took you under his wing if nobody else did, he was half Italian, half Japanese. Dressed well, spoke well, and the few fights he got into he ended it quickly and helped the guy up and told him to get out of his face and never screw with him again... Definitely had the mentality and I don't know where he is today or if his dream of being in something bigger than himself ever came true but he was a very awesome friend.

@@Kamina.D.Fierce i believe he was caught with something about tax for gas. Basically he skimmed some of the fuel tax into his pocket, instead of paying it to the government. Made him a lot of money, but the government quickly caught wind of that.
This guy came to my church years and years ago. Bought a copy of his book. Thought he looked familiar and had to click the vid. Love GTA and respect this guy.
Good to see you here, Pro! I watched him for a long time, and can believably recreate his probable reaction. Something like: "Modders? What's that?" " *background explanation* " "Ah, they cheat. So they bend the game to their own benefit, doing whatever they want. I get it". "They're like in-game mafia". "Let me tell you, mob guys would not cheat in a game during my time. If you got caught cheating in a card game, that could very end badly, trust me on that. Don't know about videogames, wasn't a thing, obviously. But I'll say this. If anything, those cheaters act like today politicians. They do whatever they want, and there's no repercussions whatsoever/nobody goes after them! Crazy!"
The fact that he's able to do this video, and seems as well off as he is, tells me he still has connections and he's just not as "involved" as he used to be. Also, about the device that the government had to point at you to hear your conversations, well they also had (and still do probably) a device to shoot you with that utilized the poison from a cone snail. It's undetectable to feel, and to trace. Made it seem as though you had a heart attack. This guy though, definitely tells a lot of truths that still go on to this day. Just more sophisticated, more in depth, more elaborate, etc.
Sonny was talking crap when he said they look after their own. He didn't give a crap about Tommy and the family didn't do a single thing to help him or care for him. The biker leader Mitch Baker even points that out "that's right we don't ask a guy to do the dirty work and then let them do 15 years hard time" or something like that.

Michael if the coolest ex mafia boss I've ever seen.
Man this brings back memories!!
Just started playing this again last weekend.
GTA is so over the top but but it’s a fun way to live vicariously
Now here is something I thought I'd never see; Michael Franzese reacting to a PlayStation 2 classic.
You could hear the admiration in his voice speaking on Al like that. Good times he had really living it.
He definitely needs to react to Mafia 1, 2 and 3. Perhaps GTA 3, 4 and Liberty City Stories aswell
"You catch more files with honey than you do with vinegar"-Michael Franzese
I had a buddy obsessed with the mob and Yakuza. He was intelligent, pretty cool guy, took you under his wing if nobody else did, he was half Italian, half Japanese.
Dressed well, spoke well, and the few fights he got into he ended it quickly and helped the guy up and told him to get out of his face and never screw with him again...
Definitely had the mentality and I don't know where he is today or if his dream of being in something bigger than himself ever came true but he was a very awesome friend.
Sounds like a sociopath but ok
@@bldontmatter5319 Some of the best people are sociopaths.
A sociopath will run into a burning building to save people, a regular person would just call the Fire Department.
@@OkamiNation420 not really sure you know what a sociopath is
@@bldontmatter5319 Not really sure you ever looked at people like human fucken beings.
Some criminals have used video games to speak to other criminals. Just imagine trying to separate an actual conversation about crime from a normal convo in GTA Online. I've also heard of people using counter strike (and other games) to write out messages by shooting walls and spelling out words. The FBI has also had agents in WoW trying to leech data from players.
This is the video I never thought I wanted. Michael talking about Vice City.
YES!!!
If vice city ever gets a remake i hope the mission where you take out diaz gets a stealth option it makes more sense to go in quiet than guns blazing, atleast use a suppressor
Lol
This ain't call of duty bro
@@matthewrock4725 In GTA 5 story mode heists they give you the option of doing it smart or loud and if you look back further san andreas used stealth for a few missions
props for this dude
talking about the real stuff and always talking about gta games
he needs to go help rockstar and give them tips for
missions and do voice overs
This is so cool. His commentary about how it’s actually accurate in some of the situations that play out during the game from being formerly personally involved in the mob. It would be cool if he was an consultant for a future game or even yet a actual voice actor for a character.
They should have him as a consultant in Mafia 4
If Hangar 13 didn't go bankrupt, there would have been a Mafia 4. Would have been fantastic to do a 1960s/1970s/1980s mafia game in NYC from the Mafia team's perspective. @@domingorubies656
1:40 Anyone with some technical knowledge could've known that. Hell, any TV seller could. Old cell phones were literally just fancy walkie talkies. You didn't need to be the FBI to tap into them, anybody with a TV that picked up higher UHF channels could tap into them.
A charming guy, I’d love to see more of his reactions
Check out his channel! He’s got a whole playlist reacting to mob movies and such it’s “Micheal Franzese”.
Has anyone noticed that all the people who took down the deal in the first cutscene have the same face texture as Tommy’s (protagonist or main character) face?
You can really tell how disgusted he is by all the backstabbing in the drug business. His input here is so interesting, thanks for doing this.
It does raise the question: If his mob wasn't in the drug trade what did it actually DO? Or what was it actually involved with? (Shakedowns? Assassinations? Human Trafficking?)
@@Kamina.D.Fierce He talks about that in several other videos.
@@MrReese And? (That doesn't answer my question)
I can't believe Michael is 71 years old!!! He looks like 10 years younger at least.
I guess we could say "crime pays"
Can you have Michael react to the god mode cheaters on GTA Online?
Now why on Earth would He react to that?
Good to see you here, Pro!
I watched him for a long time, and can believably recreate his probable reaction. Something like:
"Modders? What's that?"
" *background explanation* "
"Ah, they cheat.
Crazy!"
We get it dude GTA online bad
What is the point?

The fact that he's able to do this video, and seems as well off as he is, tells me he still has connections and he's just not as "involved" as he used to be.
Also, about the device that the government had to point at you to hear your conversations, well they also had (and still do probably) a device to shoot you with that utilized the poison from a cone snail. It's undetectable to feel, and to trace. Made it seem as though you had a heart attack.
This guy though, definitely tells a lot of truths that still go on to this day. Just more sophisticated, more in depth, more elaborate, etc.
Hey you're that guy that trolls tim pool videos 😂
Yes! This is a good episode!
My mom got this the night it dropped. It was big when it was released. She was in line from 12-4am, man, the memories.
What is next? Serial killer reacting to manhunt?
The old phones you could listen to with a scanner back in the day
Oh, they used the og game footage. I still haven't bought the remastered trilogy, to hell with music licensing.
2:01 Don't worry, tommy knows that very well
15 years hard time
I'd pay top dollar to watch Michael play through GTA III, Vice City, IV, V.
This was awesome. Loved it. Loved his reaction. This is my all time favorite video game.
Lotta insight in this one, knew the drug business was bad but holy cow it started off with a high bar in violence from the get-go
As someone that grew up around this stuff, these videos give me a chuckle.
Hey Miky!!! Did you know notice the voice for the character in GTA Vice City is Roy Liotta?
Love this dude lmao such a genuine person. His UA-cam content is great too
The mafia must’ve seen how el chapo had a whole army 😭
Bro he said shit like this had happened In columbia mexico but not In The united States
4:43 the audio couldn’t have fucked up at a worse point😭
I heard it, then I see this, someone else actually points this stuff up lol.
youre awesome mike...my favorite game ray liotta was the voice of tommy
I like seeing the love many people are showing Ray Liotta R.I.P. Ray
12:08 He was a superhero, he really was 😢
4:42 Thank you, cause I like "wtf" playing this in the background lol
He literally didn't know the saying and it's funny as fuck.
He was 35 during 1986. same as Tommy
The video we didn't ask for but one that was definitely needed great job to mike and gamology!!!!! I played this game so much its great to see an actual mob boss taking a look at this and giving his views
"This is Vice City this is business. " Last words of Lance Vance Dance
Next episode:
Serial killer REACTS to Manhunt
4:43 whoever cut the video knew what he was doing 🤣
Gotta remember this game is heavily inspired by Scarface where you see that level of violence within the US. Obviously wouldn't happen. Not everything.
i think GTA 4 will be a perfect Mob reacts because the game clearly shows about the the commission, mafia, mob, drugs racketeering and all types of mafia business that happened in New york(Liberty city).
I'll never forget how proud I was when I was eleven years old and I realized how loved we Italian Gangsters are. Everyone was crazy over this game and I lived it from a young age on up! 🇮🇹
Listen to that, kids! Criminals, even an ex mafia boss tells you to don't go near drugs!
Stay in school kids. Winner don't use drugs, even those that win in the criminal world
You should react to Only Fools and horses. Miami twice episodes. Beloved UK sitcom, this particular feature length episode involves the two main characters unknowingly getting involved with the Mafia with really funny results.
9:52 Michael: "This is pretty organized."
- Vance running against a wall. 😄
They really got in and out of cars fast back in the day.
