Mafia 2 is a cinematic action-adventure game that draws inspiration from iconic mafia dramas, immersing players in the alluring and inescapable life of organized crime. Set in the meticulously crafted world of Empire Bay, the game transports players to the 1940s and 50s, where World War II is raging in Europe, and the architecture, cars, music, and fashion echo the period in stunning detail. As time progresses, the game reflects the birth of a new era, with the introduction of hot rod cars and the evolution of fashion and music. Players step into the shoes of Vito Scaletta, a rising star in the criminal underworld who, alongside his trusted friend Joe, works to prove himself to the Mafia. As Vito climbs the family ladder, the stakes grow higher, and the consequences more severe, revealing that the life of a wise guy is not as untouchable as it may seem. Through its compelling characters, immersive storytelling, and meticulous attention to historical detail, Mafia 2 offers an unforgettable journey into the heart of organized crime.

Ex-Mob Boss REACT to Mafia 2 - Ігри
I like how he instantly called Luca's setup. Later on in the game, Leo says that it was a setup and you don't have to pay to get into the family.
I really hoped that scene would come up
If Mafia IV is really in development they need to bring on Michael Franzese as an expert to make the game more realistic in certain points
Wait, really?
I didn't know about rumors of a new Mafia game, honestly...
@@MatsuSenpaii yeh but 2K could pull the plug at any minute so until I see some screenshots or a teaser trailer next year I'm not holding my breath tbh
Michael can INFORM them on the aspects and details of snitching.
Hopefully the main character will be Italian with a similar 'coming up' story to Vito and Tommy. Would hate to see another rambo game like Mafia 3
@@mryagami8448 He never snitched though?
Vito: gets made*
Michael: Wow this *brings back memories*
It's like you put your grandpa to play Cod
If you’ve ever heard him describe when he got made, it’s almost exactly how it’s shown in the game.

Just bought it again. But sadly no freeroam. Shame, it would have been way more successful and could have a massive playerbase
There is free roam my guy it's starts after the credits when you finish the game
Mafia 2 > Mafia 1 > Mafia 3
@@abualofenkasi5634 There’s plenty of games without free roam that have been successful. Not every game needs it.
@@BigC7229 You sure about that?
I'm pretty sure that after the credits the last mission just plays over and over again.
You can load a mission and then just free roam instead of doing the mission, but well...
The DLCs also give an opportunity to free roam.
But honestly, it isn't nearly as much fun as you would imagine. Gets pretty boring because there isn't much to do in the open world.
You know you made a good game when a ex mob boss feels nostalgia from a animated scene

This was the best reaction to mafia 2
He did react to it in the past but it didn't show any of the good parts of the story , this one is so much better
Yeah I think he played up to the gas stamp heist and said it wasn't realistic at all since they just do the job right then and there instead of really planning it like getting blueprints of the building, having someone on the inside, or having intel like guards or security systems. I recently bought Mafia: The Defintive Edition on Steam and what can I say... One hell of a ride. You can't even be mad at Vito for killing Tommy because that's the guy you'll love in Mafia II. That shows you how crooked and hypocritical this business is. I could never imagine being in that circle. I'm glad Michael made it out of there alive. He's a great storyteller.
The graphics are amazing.
I played them near launch or at launch and got it on cd keys for 20 quid all of em somehow
I played the first and second back to back. Played on classic and the race was nearly as awful as the original which I played years ago.
I nearly gave up because I always despised it, so out of place and unnecessary. The rest of mafia I and II is amazing. Both brilliantly written games. I played about half of Mafia III and hated it. Felt like a poorly made Ubisoft clone and aside from the first twist everything was weaksauce bullshit
Bitter end to a magnificent series
@@arthurmorgan2026 This is the 100% comment right there about the Mafia Series. Perfect word for word and glad someone has this to say about Mafia 3 in contrast to one and two.
Yeah kind of shows how most guys will eventually have to face their past.
On the note of Mafia 1, FUCK THAT RACING MISSION ON HARD REALISM DRIVING MODE ON. Was hilarious seeing a friend play it though even after telling him he will have a hard time trying to beat it on those two modes lol.
@@arthurmorgan2026 Lmao I missed out on Mafia 1, but played Mafia 2 recently and played Definitive edition of Mafia 1 few years later.

Franzese back, reacting to my favorite Mafia game, of all games. On my birthday no less. 😂👏🏼
Isaias Happy Birthday and I wish you many more and a happy holiday.

Got a lot of respect for these guys, all that messy work but still remained dignified and professional about it. Much appreciated getting Michael onboard for this
Facts, today criminals are barbarians and drug addicts. It's bad and need to be put in jails.
@@Amarok-7 Nah g, maybe ur talking about gangs but trust me, the mafia now is way stronger than before
@@limp.4701 look the first two lines of what Grim said. I said criminals now are barbarians. It's nothing like micheal time i would say.

Was not expecting Michael Franzese to be on Gamology at all.
He's been on other react channels why wouldn't he be on this one?
Why not? LOL
He’s been on here like 80 times
This guy is an absolute treasure. A piece of history that you could literally talk to.
A killer ? Seriously
history, yes, treasure, no lol dude probably killed so many people
That's funny, then Michael says "ypu don't have to pay anybody" and in jail Vito finds out he houldn't have paid ,or "Most of *Do you know who you talkin' to* people are low level guys" and Vito woth Joy was realy at the bottom of crime world, not even in family.
so impressive that when he watched that scene he straight up said "sounds like a setup to me..." and later on the game we find out that it was exactly it, this guy knows what he's talking about
It is very funny to see him accurately catch odd tells that he was supposed to, Mafia not having any sign up fee and the fact Henry knew the dope was good... he still has the instincts.
...and he knew about the set up straight away. Old instincts never die
Now imagine if Chris the Cop (I think that's his name) is in the same room with this man.
Imagine Michael, Chris and Camden Pace (the former bank robber) in a video together talking about games surrounding their backgrounds (Michael with mafia, Chris with SWAT/Ready or not, or Camden with Payday).

*This is SURREAL seeing Michael here!*
Michael Franzese is great to listen to. The man has so many great stories to tell.
I love how he instantly realized that something was off with Henry by just watching one cutscene.
Most of us thought nothing of it. Meanwhile Michael was like: “Hold on, you’ve been in the drug business for 5 minutes, and already you’re the expert.”
I like how he notice the fee to be in the family was fishy when that what they say in the game.
Mike needs to run through the whole game on his channel. Some of the criticisms seen are actually explained in different parts of the game, especially the 'pay to be initiated' portion. This felt like a really tasty appetizer for a potential main course which I'm down for all day.
Bruh I started playing this game in 2022 and I'm genuinely impressed how realistic it is for a game that released in 2010, it's like GTA IV but better
Finally, ive been looking forward to, ur invited the real member of that life and discussed it that was epic pls do more Michael Franzese
My dad was real involved in the street life. Dealt with gangs in Northern California. Was a huge meth cook in the Bay Area and was even in a string of bank robberies during the 90s still had a open case with one of em but since everyone else was dead the case went cold. But he always told me stories so I wouldn’t get involved myself. Wanted a better life for me and that’s exactly what he did after prison he completely changed his life around. My mom and him had my lil sister and he did everything possible to take care of us in a legit way.
But man he told me a story when he was younger, like 14 or so. He just started dealing in harder drugs and he branched out of his hometown in Vallejo ca to Fairfield ca. Well when he did that, another local gang didn’t take to kind to him dealing in their territory. They basically kidnapped, took all his new clothes and shoes. Money drugs and then left him in a shirt and boxers out in a corn field in the middle of Butt fuck nowhere. They beat him up pretty damn good to. Man his stories were insane. I could listen to him and all my older family members for hours.
Rest In Peace pops ♥️ god knows how much I miss u
It has it's flaws but I've always loved mafia 2 since it first came out, one of my favourite games, played it so many times.
Imagine this guy back in the 80s being a made guy in the literal mafia knowing in the future he'd be at home reviewing video games
He would whack you or beat you up if you’d say that to him
Man, I can listen to him go on for hours and hours.
Mafia games: **shows made men slapping and abusing each other**
Micheal: That's not very realistic.
Yakuza games: **shows made men framing each other for murder and families dividing into factions trying to kill each other**
Micheal: Yeah, that's pretty realistic
This deadass made me wanna play this game again.. one of my all time favorites… I also enjoyed the ndks
I'm looking forward seeing mr Franzese Future React on Mafia Definitive Edition 1 and Mafia 3
Actually Franzese was part of the promotion for the Mafia 1 remake
Mafia 3 isn't a Mafia game anymore tho.
This guy was a mobster in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Of course they weren't using Thompson's during that time. 😂😂
YES THE MOMENT WE ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
he played mafia 2 in a different video way before
So when are we gonna get a former Yakuza reacting to Yakuza/Like a Dragon?
Thank you to both @Gamology and @Michael Franzese for doing this video. It gives a lot of insight that I doubt anyone will ever know. These videos are informative and awesome to watch!
I would love to see mr.Franzese reacts on certain main events in Mafia 1/Mafia Definitive Edition how much realistic it is,especially beginning of last chapter where we found *spoiler* dead in hallway and lots of other things
I think that he would say that a mass shooting involving 1 guy against a hundred people and where the cops don’t pull up is a bit unrealistic
@@Emory_OrginalG_Tate I agree,if it was reality, they would kill him anytime so Tom wouldn't even know that Salieri know about that job, like kill him after he leaves his house or a *SPOILER* apartment or if they met in that certain place they would just shot him after opening that door
Just finished my Mafia 2 playthrough for this year. Amazing game!

If mafia 4 doesn’t include actual former mafia members then they’re doing themselves a disservice. They need guys like Michael behind the scenes and for voice acting
Mafia 3 was a virtual signaling mess
@@angelofdeath8933 I completely agree. I took it for what it was but I didn’t really enjoy it. Most fun I had was trying to drift around the streets
@@angelofdeath8933 Too much black people in my video games
@@astro.8888 yeah I'm not denying that it was a decent game.. i mean it wasn't trash or anything, its the virtual signaling that turned people off.. that plus the fact it was placed in a bad era.. would have been better off in the 1980"s when the MAFIA was at war with the other familes and the FBI was bringing them down.. This was a good one to react to thanks ! Brought back good memories playing it as a kid
I’m so happy Micheal made another more in depth video about mafia
It's crazy this video just came out and I just finished playing through this game for the 3rd time.
The first Darkness game deals a lot with mafia stuff. It would be interesting to see Michael react to it as well.
Y’know, *before* the spooky-ass tentacle demons come out of the guy’s back. That’s probably where the realism would stop. Unless that was something that *did* happen, and the mob kept it under wraps.
(That was mostly a joke.)
I love this series and I'm so glad to see Mafia getting some love! Amazing
Man he has to react to the whole game cutscenes this shyt is amazing. I want him to see how some of these situations plays out . Curious of his opinion on specifics around the story . As it continues..
Thanks for the vid for everyone involved, ultimately. Take care.
This video needed to be an hour long, even better if it was 2 hours. Seriously I could watch and listen to Franzese react to the entire Mafia trilogy from beginning to end.
these type of people should help create the story for games like this

Expert: "that's realistic!"
It's very interesting to hear this guy talk.
I lived in little Italy and in my town, China town crosses it at the end of the street. Italian Mob life is real out here too, big name around here is the Peloso family. They extort millions by intimidation and have contracts with the City and behave like upstanding citizens as a side gig.
I'd love to see this guy in an HBO remake of his past. he'd pick the cast, and maybe he'd play his father in the series, would be fun for him to recreate his past in a live-action series and for us to watch and see who he was "back in du day." 😄
You don’t realise how boring mob life can be sometimes. Higher ups spend a lot of their time just organising with capos, this isn’t the Sopranos, these are the Five Families, the big shots see almost no action.
Oh can't wait for the Mafia IV.
It'd be awesome to experience new details & gameplay
They did explain the issue that Vito met about paying his "fees" to be made.
When Vito was in prison, he told Leo Galante, the Consigliere of the Vinci Family on how he and Joe was asked to pay an upfront figure by Alberto Clemente's capo, Luca Gorino of the Clemente Family.
Leo and his bodyguard were both mocking Clemente and swore that when he leaves the prison, Leo would personally talk to Frank Vinci and to put him in check for conning recruits into such a ridiculous scam.

@@justineallandevelos6491 yeah but the pavanos knew the peg was arrogant and stupid so they knew he would fall for the trap, his ego couldn't let him avoid a sitdown as he would look weak in his mind.

I saw him react to GTA Vice City and to this. Mafia 2 triggers his memory way more it seems (which makes complete sense of course)
Those Submachine guns are M1928 Thompson Submachines, and the other was a M3A1 "Greese gun". The mob did use such weapons in the 1920's and 1930's. This game looks like it is set in the 1950's.

Dang, you got Michael Franzese on board. Gamology is getting a real heavyweight in on this. Maybe hire Santee from The Arizona Ghostriders to react to RDR 2. (Arizona Ghostriders is a great UA-cam channel that gives brief history lessons about the Old West.)
Mafia IV set in the 80s (Michael's time) has to be a thing, with some parallels to the real Five Families or at least Gotti.
