It is the so-called economists who infest Treasury who have driven us into this mess while using technical terms and phraseology to hide their incompetence and crooked ways. What Kenyans need are a few individuals who chop up the complex debt situation and bring out the issue in a language ordinary Kenyans can understand. Someone like Wanjigi.

If I were president the first thing i would do is carry out a forensic audit at the treasury. the govt wants to finance housing why don't they do a forensic audit on treasury to find out where every shilling is going. Time and time again the auditor general and controller of budget the only patriotic Kenyans in govt who constantly report the massive looting of govt resources starting with treasury payouts like the recent 67b payments made to non existent pensioners and other ailments with this dept, and god knows what else the treasury is illegally paying out, may be the govt could fund its housing and NSSF programs by just sealing these loopholes and holding civil servants accountable for theft of tax payers money. One can easily come up with over a trillion in illegal payments by treasury enough to fund housing, NSSF and free secondary education. Plus with ongoing cuts in wastage and digitization of services, kenya would be able to offer its citizens services that the govt would not even have to burden Kenyans with taxation. Corruption is the biggest tax on Kenyans. The govt needs to fund a special purpose team ( just like the one they created for pending bills led by Ouko) drawn from the auditor general and controller of budget, audit entire govt depts. No need to waste funds on a different audit firm the auditor general and controller of budget have proven they have the capacity to do the job. The team can hire local audit firms for support like the organization of accountants and such like bodies to carry out a thorough audit of treasury payments and uncover the billions of illegal payments.
Jimmy Wanjigi must be part of the solution. The government should take advantage of its indigenous human resources. We must decide whether to sacrifice a few people to save the Kenyan economy or to sacrifice the country's economy to save a few people from the consequences of their actions or inactions.

@@africanqueenmo You are contradicting yourself. He said he is not asking to be called. In other words, he is not seeking to be called. Or, in brief, hatafuti kazi! That's not the same thing as saying that, he will not heed the Govt's request if he is called upon to assist. But then, and this is my own thinking, he might also be wise and choose not to join hands with a Govt that might only make him dirty. If you are old enough or if you have read about Moi's Dream Team, then you might understand what I am talking. The Dream Team of 4 (or were they 5?) were stars in their own right and joined the Govt, on the behest of, and funding by World Bank. They joined with great energy and expectation, hoping to help turn things around. Within a few short years they left the Govt in a huff, with themselves having been turned around and their CVs completely messed up. Strong systems downgrade even the best of people. If I were Jimmy Wanjigi, I would never think of joining this Govt.
Odious debt? How did the financing countries approve such? Is it true that none of it was used to fund any projects? What then did Uhuru government use in the many projects we see around the country! I am having a hard time understanding this….This information should be audited….
It's not possible to be a first world country with the kind of birthrates we have. Also, how many global patents are we filing each year as Kenyans? Which countries developed without massive oil deposits, or without global patents in physics, biology, chemistry?
@@iamsyourdadi If population growth rate (if which birth rate is just one of the factors) exceeds or strains economic growth rate, then it is a negative. But if it is containable within economic growth, then it is a positive. Birth rate by itself dies not say much about the well being of a population, fir now and in the foreseeable future.
Global patents do not occur in a vacuum. For a country to produce global patents in reasonable numbers, then it must put in money into research and development. Local universities can hardly meet their most basic running costs. Public universities are often on strike like school teachers. In addition to spending most of their time in teaching activities (and very little serious research work) most lecturers also run around from one university to another in an effort to put a few more coins into their pockets. How much funding (be it private or public) goes into funding R&D activities? Zero. What is the output of R&D activities? Zero. The equation is well balanced. Zero = Zero!
@@georgeodhiambo598 You are right here but I would add a few more variables. As long as the universities are not tied to the market, then innovation can never be realized. University operation should also be decoupled from the government
When value of shillings goes low, what bond holders get out will be far less than what they put in (in terms of value) so in essence they will be at loss

You cannot just claim that you won't service part of a debt because some of the money was stolen. Once you get the money, you are it's custodian for better or for worse.
Kweli bosse wanjigi wezi.wote 😂 wakwende
But Hon. Jimmy Wanjigi donated 850/= million ksh during President. WSR campaign in 2022 and he endorsed him @ Kasarani.
Alafu hajapata cs now he's bitter🤣
So what? What Ruto promised and what he is delivering are different. So it is Ruto who has shifted away from his pledges.

The radio show needs to have an ECONOMIST on the show to challenge Wanjigi. If we default on debt the economy is dead.
You don't need an economist to understand the basics , he says whatever we collect is enough to pay debts.
It is the so-called economists who infest Treasury who have driven us into this mess while using technical terms and phraseology to hide their incompetence and crooked ways. What Kenyans need are a few individuals who chop up the complex debt situation and bring out the issue in a language ordinary Kenyans can understand. Someone like Wanjigi.
actually he saying default on the illegal debt...there is a first part of this interview where he explains it
An economist is ANYONE who has an economics degree. And there are many(including yours truly) who have those degrees. But even without those degrees, you can still comprehend the numbers. They are not that difficult.
@@joelgitui9573 I have no problem with that. What I have a problem is his assertion that the ‘solution’ is to simply ‘not pay the debt’ because it is ‘odious debt.’ That would be a veritable death knell for the country’s economy.
Culprits are known and should be made to return and forfeit property.
When will this all make sense to young people and tugege and people supporting ethnic politics
According to Jimmy we are calling for a handshake to make things right pride n ego a side
All debts are legal since it is Parliament that gives a nod
Jimmy Wanjigi must be part of the solution. The government should take advantage of its indigenous human resources. We must decide whether to sacrifice a few people to save the Kenyan economy or to sacrifice the country's economy to save a few people from the consequences of their actions or inactions.
What are you having an issue with? Point out the factual error in his statement. Or are you afraid of the truth?
@@georgeodhiambo598 listen to the video before you ask silly questions
@@africanqueenmo I have listened to it and I am asking you what in his responses are you having an issue with? Are you scared of the truth? What are you afraid of?
@@georgeodhiambo598 Did you hear Jimmy say that he's not asking to be called by government to help resolve the debt crisis issue? I'm saying the government needs his expertise and he must be called to serve in that capacity so what do you imagine that I'm afraid of? What truth?
Ruto is too proud he cant accept he has failed. Things must work. I agree kenyans are sharp and hardworking . Given a chance things can change
Odious debt? How did the financing countries approve such? Is it true that none of it was used to fund any projects? What then did Uhuru government use in the many projects we see around the country! I am having a hard time understanding this….This information should be audited….
Aren't there consequences of failing to pay
I want to hear this from Jimmy so as to gauge his thinking
It's not possible to be a first world country with the kind of birthrates we have. Also, how many global patents are we filing each year as Kenyans? Which countries developed without massive oil deposits, or without global patents in physics, biology, chemistry?
global patents? Zero. My question is about the birth rates. Are you saying our birth rates are a positive or negative? And what is your rationale?
@@georgeodhiambo598 Well birth rate is inversely proportional to education so i think that sorts itself out
@@georgeodhiambo598 You are right here but I would add a few more variables. As long as the universities are not tied to the market, then innovation can never be realized.
University operation should also be decoupled from the government
Tell Kenya govt to buy BTC. It will add it to their reserves eventually. Can we do it now while it's profitable?
Does this mean that they will tax the bond holders?
When value of shillings goes low, what bond holders get out will be far less than what they put in (in terms of value) so in essence they will be at loss
