Kenya has got a lot to learn from the crisis of Ghana. No to comprehensive free education. No to unjustifiable tax exemptions and subsidies. No to excessive domestic borrowing. No to excessive borrowing generally. No to wasteful and unnecessary mega projects which we cannot fund organically. No to the poor culture of domestic savings. No to corruption and nepotism. It's looks like Ruto is very much on the right track. He did his homework.

We are talking about reducing the rate of borrowing until the public debt burden will be put under control, and reconsidering the purpose and priorities of borrowing. Tax exemptions are not kenyas problem. Neither is taxes per se'. The problem in Kenya is only one-the government itself. Until the uchafu in government, the rot, the corruption and corruption friendly systems are removed, we are going nowhere.
