I love the vision pro. It led me directly to the quest 3. Had the 2, it was meh at best. The 3 is great. Love the pass through (not even close to vp though).
I tested the vp this weekend. it has its place and honestly, if you are a heavy heavy mac user (computer), this is such a great tool. Even with that, the OLED was so nice, I REALLY debated on purchasing. OLED is great and no screen door, but with the limited rollercoaster of a demo they put you on, I couldn't test what I wanted to see.
The Q3 is more comfortable out of the box. There is still a screen door effect, but it is noticeably less than the q2 or the psvr2. For me, If the VP was half the cost, i'd have it and it may be my go to for multimedia.
Yesterday, I watched the movie Black Widow while sitting on the roof of the Avenger's Tower, smoking a bowl. Tonight, I watched Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (watching the last 3 episodes of S2) while sitting on the edge of a crater on the moon. This thing has a LOT of potential, but I am looking forward to more app development because there's not much on the app store yet. I don't think Apple would release something this big as a one-off. AVP is going to be here for at least a few iterations, pass or fail. I'm very interested in how Apple will evolve the product. Also, Apple is setting the bar with OLEDs. If nothing else, the next generation of VRs from everyone else are going to be at least on the level that the AVP is on now, affordably, and with their own innovations to move the tech forward.

For 3.5k the total lack of VR gaming makes the AVP a non-factor. Quest Pro also doesnt make much sense now that the Quest3 is out.
Not for most, but I returned the Quest 3 in favour of Quest Pro as I much prefer it for PCVR, which is what I mostly do. Better colours, black levels and contrasts, eye tracked foveated rendering, better controllers, haptics and tracking, and the open design is much more comfortable and immersive once you have a top strap.
Quest 3 is a lot better for mobile gaming and mixed reality, but I don't find mobile games or the Quest 3 passthrough good enough to want to use yet.

Quest Pro is at the price of Quest 3 512GB in UK at the moment... Went with Quest Pro as I mainly play PCVR games seated (Space Sims, Car Sims)... Hope I took the right decision... Thanks for the video.
Quest Pro has eye tracking and far better controllers, but worse mobile power. For PC, it's solid.
Quest Pro is great for PCVR.
You should have gone for the Quest 3. The Quest Pro resolution is not good enough. It is even lower than the Quest 2.

I sent the Quest 3 back after two weeks as I prefer the Pro for PCVR. Quest 3 is much better as a mobile headset and for passthrough there is a noticeable improvement, but I don't personally care much for either of those features. For the price you paid, the Quest Pro is a very solid choice for PCVR.

Love my Pro. I just wanted a headset for media and the open design / weight on forehead make using it for hours a pleasure compared to the face weighted closed design of the Quest 3. You can also place the Quest Browser as far or close to you as you wish.
Do you think that the upgrade from the quest 3 to the Vision Pro is worth the price? I am debating between waiting a few years until there is a cheaper Vision Pro type device out but I don't really want there to be lower quality screens or passthrough in exchange for the lower price so I'm not really sure what to do.
I'm glad I live in the UK so I can't be tempted while all the hype is going on!
I would hold off if you can. The Meta Quest is still great for now and it has more on offer for games etc at this point.
The AVP will be less expensive and pass through will only improve as the technology progresses.
The Quest Pro is still a lot more expensive than the Quest 3 and has much worse pass through!
@@rightfromleft the problem is I prefer the use case of “spacial computing “ so I use the quest 3 to replace my monitor / have multiple monitors and watch UA-cam / play flat games I don’t really enjoy the vr video games as much as that use case which the Vision Pro seems to better at and made for

It's not an upgrade. You'll be missing many features of the Quest. If you can afford the Vision Pro, keep the Quest.

I use a QPro but the avp's passthrough has such better latency that it goes from "I feel drunk" to "I can live normally" - if not for the fov and movement blur when indoors, which makes me bump into things and want to fall over.
yes, but the Quest Pro is over a year older than the quest 3 or the avp. This is a long time in a space like XR that's moving so quickly.

If I do a lot of you tube and note taking simultaneously, and need the Ability to read text content , journals , Articles etc, is there a definite preference. Also how many screens, web pages, can You have on the QUEST3. I’m a huge Apple fan, multiple iPads , but the more I look I’m thinking Quest 3 might be the right way for me to go. (At least for now and wit for Vision Pro 2 and more apps. Not sure I’ll save quite as much with Quest 3 as will need a lot of accessories, control pads, Comfort bands Etc. APPRECIATE ANY THOUGHTS, AS IVE NEVER OWNED ANY HEADSET. I THINK APPLE coming out w Vision Pro, may actually also help METAS bottom line, . I want to play Quest games on Vision Pro.
Had a quest 2 and 3 and tried a friend's vision pro. For the extra $3000 for the apple VR headset, you really aren't getting much at all. In fact I would say the apple headset has less overall functionality than the quest 3. 2 small OLED screens are not worth that much and the front screen is just a gimmick that nobody will really use. The quest 2/3 also has a much more open approach to allow more developers to develop for it and so the software library is so much larger than the apple's. Comfort was also vastly better on the quest 3 and doesn't require you to purchase expensive light seals until you find the right one. The controllers are also infinitely better than forced hand tracking. Menus are easier to navigate and more intuitive on the quest 3 too. Then there's the fact that a little scratch on the quest 3's front surface will not ruin any part of the experience so durability is greater. There are numerous 3rd party head strap makers too so you can easily find the perfect fit without being forced to use meta's own brand through serialisation. You don't even have to use Meta's own app store. The only positive I can see about the apple headset is the quality of the screen and pass through.

Considering the quest 3 is 7x cheaper than the vision pro, the fact that the two headsets are comparable is really sad. In my opinion if it's going to be expensive it needs to justify the price.
60 minutes seems a bit light. I’m definitely getting more than 60 minutes even on taxing apps

The Vision Pro is just on another level. The only thing the Quest has over it is more games and the price. If you want the absolute best Vr headset on the market the Vision Pro it is but you will have to pay a premium.
It is in some regards, but behind in just as many if not more. For me, I can't see the value of the AVP right now. It's to much and does too little. I do have a Quest 2 and use it regularly. I was waiting for the AVP to see if it would bring something amazing, but I just don't see it. I was inclined then toward the Quest Pro, but have read so many things about the Quest 3 being better than in in many ways that I am not thinking Quest 3. BTW, I am a MacBook owner and user. I spent nearly 5,000 for my MacBook pro (apple Silicon), so I was thinking the AVP would bring some amazing work possibilities (which I currently use my Quest 2 for regularly when I travel, about 6 months a year or so), but the single desktop is unacceptable. I need to have multiple monitors for the work that I do (programming and network design). I just need to have too many windows open simultaneously and have to share a screen on calls about 20 times a week. I could share and application, but then I have to constantly switch those out. It is much easier to have a screen that I use for sharing and put only the apps on that that I want to share. It prevents me from leaking accidentally information which might be proprietary or confidential in nature.
For the price. Quest 3. Just my opinion.
Don’t waste your $500 on something that’s going to sit in a closet. Get vp. The quality experience is huge.

Battery life: how do you extend it on the Vision Pro and how do you do it with the Quest3 and...how much does it cost? Comfort. How much does it cost to have the Quest3 comfortable and how much does the VP cost? My headstrap with extended battery cost only 20$. If you were to have a third party headstrap for the VP with battery, how much would you need to pay? 200? 300? or more? I much prefer the 1,5 hours battery life from my Quest, but can upgrade it for a very reasonable price than a headset that will burn a whole in my hand. Those are things that are easily to overcome and not worth comparing.
The Quest Pro costs in Thailand where I live over 2000$us! It's for me cheaper to fly to the US and buy one there.....

Apple had the opportunity to wow us with anime-level mixed reality with the sensors their headset has, and instead we got more of the same, just nicer.
The quest 3 fisheye on pass through is so, so bad. I would never want to use that.
The LCD vs OLED issue is also a deal breaker for me. My primary use isn’t gaming, it’s consuming media. The picture quality is just so different between them.
Then you have meta UI which I’m totally over. It’s so dated. And that subpar hand tracking on the quest is not good.
For me and my use cases, the VP is leagues ahead of the competition and is getting my money.
Baby at VP price point, you might as well just buy a large screen or an expensive laptop. Don't be stewpid
@@tomharris7689 I have an 85” 4k QLED TV. I used to have a 100” short throw projector and miss the screen size. I'll keep the TV for watching stuff with the family. But when it's just me, I'll be rocking the VP. The OLED screens will look better than my current TV, and the screen size will be enormous, far better than buying another TV or laptop. Besides, a 100” OLED TV costs more than the VP.
And there's always the 14-day return period if it doesn't work out. Apples great with their returns.

I have always wanted a pair of AR/VR glasses or head-mounted device (HMD) but have never owned one until Apple announced the Vision Pro (AVP). In anticipation of its release and watching how the market had come so far, I went with Xreal Air (XRA) glasses because, in reality, the AVP is above my budget. The XRA is good for what it is to calm my desire for a true HMD. When the AVP came out, I went to get a demo, and it blew my mind. There is no comparison between the XRA and AVP. It is night and day. I really wanted the AVP, but I must save for it since I am in the Apple ecosystem. Even the AVP Gen 2 will still be more than the rest of the industry.

I saw one of these for the first time today and had no idea what it was. Not my kind of thing, I still don't have a smartphone, but I learnt a lot from this video so thanks for that.
most VR gamers uses PCVR via WIFI 6/6e routers, so the seen identical textures and graphics quality on Q3 and Q Pro, according PC specs. Q3 has a more resolutin, but it cost more PC power (PC needed better specs with Q3 than Q Pro). Image quality, exept resolution, beter in Q Pro, vibrant colors, local dimming. So if you has Q Pro - stay with it, if you think what to buy, and you didnt need face track and eye track (and foveated rendering) - i think go buy Q3. Apple vision - in my opinion - just tech preview, undeserving to buy.
U just cant compare the AVP to the quest. If you arent gaming the AVP is much much better. a

Tbh, they all kinda suck... 😂 Too heavy & bulky, short battery life, and overall lacking basic immersive/ app development features (each product with its own cons/ pros, however they'reall far from being perfect).
Until these things don't get solved, ppl shouldn't spend their $$$ on it!

Quest Pro is trash. I own one and sold it last year. Meta totally over sold its capabilities. Pass through sucks cant' even view your phone screen.

Great video. Another UA-camr into AR/VR called out Zuckerberg’s untruth about comfort. The UA-camr pointed out both of the Quest were UNWEARABLE in their native straps and its 3rd party straps that make them comfortable. He said out of the box, Apple offered the most comfortable straps.

Unbearable is very harsh, I use a quest 3, and it fits perfectly for me, not the most comfortable, but can wear it with no issues for how much ever I need
