Update : look out for the update after May30th to Workrooms! Lots of the things mentioned in this video will be updated or even removed : 👇🏽 www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/horizon/getting-started-in-horizon-workrooms/upgrades-announcement-workrooms/
I have tried to use it, but the issue for me is the monitors are too small and too far away to do real work when working a your workstation desk, even with the new Quest 3. The conference room only supports 1 monitor and has the best screen distance and screen size. I can say that State Government have no future plans to use VR for conferencing. I will use the web browser to do most of my personal work projects using website apps since I can adjust the size and have multiple screens. Immersed has a better screens but the free version is still does not have a high enough resolution to do real work.
@@evolvingcreativity yeah I was bummed to see the paywalls in immersed. But a agree with the screen resolutions/ size. Everyone’s eye sight varies so being able to adjust it is mandatory at this point. For me it’s still a comfort thing. The only reason I would deal with the comfort issue is to collaborate with people I wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to.
No people don't actually use it because it's simply not there yet. I was just as excited when I first jumped in as you, but it's more of a gimmick right now. Trying to legitimately get work done in there doesn't make too much sense and you get eye strain after a short time. There's just enough latency to make it frustrating when really focused on real work. Let alone they haven't truly updated it at all since launch a couple years ago. No new environments or anything. Like really ask yourself why you would truly choose this over a laptop after the first 15 mins wears off. For me, if they had tons of incredible environments i'd at least have that reason to wanna put on the headset. It would be peaceful to work in places that give all types of unique vibes you could only achieve in VR but no......just 2 basic as hell office spaces that don't look too far off from a real boring ass office space lol. Idk I just wish they pushed this app further to give me a real reason to wanna work in VR.
Yeah I hear you. Comfort and “The Why” are huge hills to get over for this. Once’s it’s a simple as putting on a pair of glasses I think it will make sense, in the same way video conferencing has become almost normal now. This may take 20 years but yeah we’re not quite there yet. With that said… it won’t stop me from trying to use this even if I invite some non vr users to join from desktop. Just for the thrill of it. Hahah. Thanks for watching 🤜🤛
question, I have seen reviews on quest 3, and in some of the videos, people are going around their house while dragging a window of youtube, or doing the dishes? in possibly your next vid? can you try to do that, since in videos it looks so smooth
I watch many channels that review Meta Quest 3 but a few talks about how to use it for working or meeting. Your channel talks this deep, and I appreciate that.
Thanks for watching!! Full disclosure I’ll be covering gaming too but I’m super interested in spatial computing and non gaming entertainment as well. It’s really an exciting device.
I played with my brother in workroom and it was so much fun writing on the dashboard and importing goofy pictures is hilarious. And the fact that we have cartoons avatar made this even better 😂. But for work ... maybe meeting but not as "professional" as AVP . This is packed with features and they made a lot of improvements with the passthrough !
Hahah yeah it’s super fun to goof around in. I feel like that’s the trick. How do you get a group of professionals to take it seriously? The avatars Apple and Meta are working on may help. I’d love to see something this feature rich over on the AVp
IMO the issue is that they’re reproducing the real life experience instead of designing an experience for VR/AR. Sitting around a table and looking at a whiteboard / flat screen isn’t the purpose of the meeting, the purpose is to demo our work and make decisions. It’s just that it’s the solution we’re the most accustomed to for this use case in this environment. We already have a workaround if people can’t gather IRL: video call and screen sharing works really well. The asset of IRL meetings isn’t even the setup but the fact people get familiar with each other in unofficial way (chat during breaks, lunch…). It just look very unimaginative and shortsighted to me to reproduce an existing solution for another problem instead of trying to be innovative 🤷🏻♀️ Can you imagine hours of sprint-planning, or worse days of PI planning, in MR? The nausea would be insane.
Thank you very much for your videos! You motivated me to use my meta quest 3 not only for entertainment but also for productivity. Tested horizont app today and it was amaizing! Keep doing this videos ! You doing it very well !
Great look into workrooms. Ive worked almost everyday in immersed for the last year and a half, so cool to see alternative apps. But being able to move monitors around and having 4-5 monitors is something i couldnt give up.
I’m going to have to revisit it. Did you get a plan for more monitors? I was a bit surprised they put that behind a paywall. But that’s awesome that you’re using it legit and actually getting value.
If you work in Immersed 3 days in a row, you get more screens, without a Paywall. Then I think you lose Pro access if you don't use it for 2-3 days, but you always have access to 3 displays, just like Workrooms. You also have access to more orientations and the ability to the screens where you want. Great video though, and the options in workrooms is definitely cool.
@@AhmazinSKM I JUST noticed it when researching for a future video. I think that’s cool that they gamified the subscription. They get major points for that
What I enjoy the most is the idea of being able to go from sitting in a closed room to being in a huge area or some pretty scenery. Something akin of going to the library to study. Great video!
@@continuouslearner as of late Workrooms doesn’t have many environments to pick from. But there’s are so many apps that do try out this playlist: Quest 3 Productivity ua-cam.com/play/PLYv4OrHZJRdOC1y9rs5GNKAStegKf_JJW.html
Excellent video! Your excitement about all things VR is contagious. I've been into VR since the early 2000s so it's good to be reminded of how revolutionary VR can be.
It is indeed an exciting time!! I have mixed feelings of excitement and worry that I won’t be around when this tech truly matures. Thanks for watching! We’ve come along way since the early 2000s. ( I still have an unopened gear VR hahaha)
@@TheConstruct_VR LOL! I know what you mean. I used to feel sad that I'll miss the colonization of Mars but not much I can do about it. 😉 However, I believe we will be there for when VR becomes commonplace. We're getting closer to that Johnny Mnemonic style interface 🙂
Very good video, I can see the attention you’ve put and also the fact you worked as a software engineer it is very important since you’re giving a professional review
Thanks Ryan! Yes I can actually see the practical application of this. I think the struggle will still be getting your entire team comfortable with VR. Perhaps too much time will be wasted getting non VR users into it. 🤷🏽♂️ I’d love to work on a team that uses this!
I'm a French IT engineering teacher, recording my own lessons on my channel with regular softwares and technics. Your presentation is really good and gave me ideas to improve my way of teaching with a more dynamic approach. Keep it up man, you work is really great!
I've always loved workrooms integration on quest. It remembers office space between sessions and is often very accurate. My only use case for it is the personal workspace. . But the latency, audio quality and screen resolution is just not something I can use for my line of work (motion design). What I love is the desk cutout, makes you feel like you sit in a different space without actually doing so, and that it's desk accurate is very important. Alot of working apps does have home enviroments but it's only an environment with a cutout. It's super odd sitting on a couch in VR with a keyboard cutout of your desk. Mismatch is off-putting. My go-to is Virtual Desktop latency, audio quailty and screen resolution beats Immersed, beats workrooms, beats everything. And multiple monitors is just around the corner🤞the only downside is that it's not a workfocused app like the others.
Yes Virtual desktop is the one app to rule them all. Someone in the comments mentioned you can turn up the resolution scale of the machine you’re mirroring. That doesn’t solve everything though. Workrooms is robust. I hope it moves forward and becomes easier and more comfortable to use. I’m going to try the resolution scale thing but for now I’m like you.. Virtual Desktop for the win!
Great video. Really appreciate how you had the multi-camera set up to cover things from all different angles. Lots of useful information as well. Thanks!
👍🏽👍🏽 I’m looking forward to the UI update. I don’t want to get my hopes up but most of this stuff needs to be possible in the general quest OS that would make it so much easier.
man your videos are so simple and break things down so much where I have no more questions. Other channels just gloss over everything and now look very superficial, I am a lot of the times left with more questions.
Hey thanks for the kind words. I’m trying to crest videos I would want to see. I can’t keep up with the rapid fire videos most people post but when I post I try to be intentional and informative. Thanks for watching!
@@TheConstruct_VR those same rapid fire videos are the superficial ones I am talking about, they have all the cool intros and sound bytes but no substance, no depth. Like I can't go back to those videos after watching this video. the jig is kinda up. Just keep doing what you are doing.
Something I discover when working with the monitor is that you can adjust monitor settings in the operating system (windows in my case) like resolution and scale to do some adjustments. Works pretty good.
It comes on handy when you only have your laptop around but want multi screen productivity. This concept will be a game changer when the headsets get smaller and more comfortable to use.
100% agree, I feel like we’re in this technology gap. These headsets (all of them) still feel very much like “what if” devices that haven’t fully matured.
Great job putting that video together, excellent commentary. For me the key is using VR headsets not linked by computer desktop. The meta browser with its three window capacity and pass through to see my keyboard let me work on my Microsoft Apps and Acrobat, linked to virtual drives iCloud, onedrive, and Google Drive. Leave our computers out of it and use VR headsets for both cloud and spatial computing.
Thanks for watching! Yes I think stand alone is the future. I feel like we’re at this half step in the technology at this point. We can see where we want to go but we’re still using coal and steam and haven’t quite figured out petroleum yet. I think we’ll get there. The Apple Vision Pro while overpriced and over engineered for the consumer.. has the right idea… it has to fit on our face and be more powerful than a laptop.
Like a new pair of shoes or bicycle seat, you just have to get used to it on your face. Only adults complain about this not kids, and with adults it's the productivity users not the gamers. Kids and gamers are emotionally driven and would no more let this discomfort slow them down than not skateboarding because you fall down. We productivity users unlike kids and gamers engage in analysis of comparative advantage or disadvantage from sitting at a desk and keyboard. I can now go six hours a day under the hood in two three 3 hour sessions. I open all three windows in Meta Browser and run the same prompts simultaneously on ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. Meta browser bookmarking is fabulous and lets you load up any online app you need, and I emphasize that any app that is now not cloud based is probably antiquated. In the last three months Meta has made Quest 3 mostly functional on airplanes, and I worked for seven hours on my flight from Tokyo to Los Angeles today under the hood logged onto the airplane Wi-Fi. 90 days ago on my flight there it would not do that. The fixes and enhancements are coming fast. VR harnesses cloud computing to spatial computing-and is uniquely well suited to AI applications. This is the future of our knowledge workforce.
I came into workrooms last year and so I've certainly taken a lot of these new features for granted. Spatial audio sourced from the position of your virtual screens is pretty wild. I just wish they had appropriate support for 90° rotated screens 😢
Yeah I hadn’t really sat with the app closely in years. It’s amazing with all of the work they put into these yet simple customizations don’t make it through. I know they can’t please everyone but some of these things seem like they should be simple.
Man, I love your videos. This one is especially applicable right now as I'm starting to buy headsets for my remote employees. PASSTHROUGH WHITEBOARD?! Yes Please! :) Keep up the great work, and thank you.
Oh my god, this is insane for remote working, I hope this will be used more in the future when VR will go mainstream and eventually replace our smartphones, we need more people in this, already have my Quest 3
Yeah it’s crazy how functional this is. In May they’re going to remove some features, I think they want it be a bit more of a personal workspace. I’m excited to see what they do with it
I don't even work in any sort of setting that requires this sort of app but I Still enjoyed the video and do think that this seems like a very useful app. A couple minutes into it I was already thinking about how I was gonna show this to my girl cause she works for a college and do tons of meetings and collabs and even have quest 3s laying around. Appreciate the video it was very informative 🤙
i'm a video editor and i just bought quest 3 last week, i bought it as gaming upgrade from quest 2 but i ended using it 90% in mixed reality. i watched like 5-6 movies and tons of youtube videos, AND i just realize i can connect my laptop to have a giant monitor while scrolling a giant instagram page on a side and replay whatsapp in the other. but i need to work in mixed reality and not full immersed, virtual desktop is ok but i can't open quest apps over it, the integrated remote desktop app is a must but idk how open more screens, or if that's even possible. need a lot of work on it but i've no regrets buying this little mini avp by meta lol. they really need to improve the ai for hand tracking and passthrough clarity, but let them cook
Yeah let them cook indeed! Try out immersed too. The latest video here on the channel walks Through it. Great to hear you’re getting some use out of it!
This app cool but shame I can't use it without lagging. I use Immersed instead because it provides a USB option to connect your laptop. This also works double duty as it keeps the headset charged. I wish Meta provided this... if anything it should have been the first option they developed lol
Check out the virtual desktop video here on the channel. I upgraded my router now no app has lag. (I’m not suggesting you grab a $200 router) but your network can make a WORLD of difference. But at that point is it worth that much to you? I like immersed and had lag problems at first with that app but I was on some nonsense equipment when I tried. I’m not a huge fan of the pay walls in Immersed.
@@TheConstruct_VR I'm running off 5G and it's quite unstable, upload speeds are always dodgy. Tbh even if I did and it was running fine wirelessly, I would still be connected to keep the headset from dying every 1 hour. Immersed just worked for me, it was the first thing I tried, absolute plug and play. I'm not sure what paywalls you mean, I seem to have access to everything because I use the app consistently. There's some kind of 'streak' system where you get Pro for free if you use it for a few days a week. Also, using BetterDisplay I can bypass the resolution limits etc.
Most definitely shared experiences with 3d models is like one of the most solid real business use cases. I feel like AVP does the models best but lacks the shared experiences
Thanks... Great video. I think the quest is very underrated and has lots of potential in work and schools. If they are smart enough to give a better version with higher resolution and more processing power, more accessories and better pcvr connectivity i would be happy to buy it.
Agreed. Super underrated. Yeah this is why I’m looking forward to the os being on more headsets! The PCVR is pretty solid in my opinion, curious what you’re looking for there. Thanks for watching!
We’ll explained However, AVP seems a bit less cartoonish looking , AVP’s pass through is at a higher quality Meta looks too cartoonish ( for me ) definitely a good job explaining your experience! Respect ✊🏿
Yeah the cartoon avatar stuff is killing the vibe for sure. I look forward to more consumer friendly iterations of the AVP. The superior hardware would really shine in a matured software environment. Thanks for watching!! 👊🏽
I have been jumping between Immersed and Horizon Workrooms. I feel like both have things I like about them, as well as, things I don't like about them. I personally like Immersed moreso, as of late, just because it feels more intuitive and has options I like. I haven't paid for the pro version yet, working with three screens in the free version seems to work fine for my dev work and accomplishing tasks day to day.
Thanks for this update. Sadly, just went in to realize their latest update is a downgrade of the version you showed, stripping out most of the cool features like the whiteboard, multiple rooms... maybe they're planning for another app? Not sure but from the reviews, many previous users are pissed off
Look in horizon worlds there’s A LOT to do with friends. Stay tuned I want to look into some of the mixed reality game board type games and cover them here on the channel
@@TheConstruct_VR Thank you for everything. i created a weekly meeting for my custom workroom, but how do you amplify them on Horizon so that people will know please? (Anyone can come.)
It's a shame that they are going to get rid of a lot of features of the app. I use it to give online classes and the fact that they are going to take out the whiteboard and other features it's going to impact the way I'm using the platform right now 😢
The removal of whiteboard hurts the most. I hope the other updates are good. From the looks of it they want to make it. Ore of a personal computing app.
Depends of work. Example for accounting it is necessary 2 monitor at least but I mostly working with 3. So when I travel it was very complicated to bring 2 monitor with me but with quest 3 the laptop is enough:)
Love it! Yeah someone else was complaining that these videos don’t show example workflows but I think it’s unique to anyone who uses it, it’s the flexibility of being free from actual hardware that makes this useful.
this is so cool. I have messed around with Immersed, but unfortunately I can't work with it because I don't own my own business and my work computer I can't install the agent required for an app like this. Might have to make a special request lol. OR I'd need an app that is only installed on the quest 3 and connected to the laptop via cable. dont think that exists though :(
Yeah the agent install really makes this awkward. I look forward to giants like Apple maybe working something out that is enterprise compatible. Adoption will make or break us on this super cool tech.
@@TheConstruct_VR some day! I work from home full time and this is the future probably. I wouldn't use it all the time but just for like an hour or something occasionally would be really fun and I'd like to see if it could really boost productivity
I wanted to promote this to my co workers but it is not available in Australia. Also there is no indication of price once it leaves beta. Obviously this is for business use so there will likely be subscription fee. But it does look promising if the price is right, just wondering what the desktop experience is like for those who don't like VR. Can they move to a seat? Do they have white board and screen share.
I know they can share screen or choose to look at the view that best shows the whiteboard. I’m not sure about seat changes and actually adding to the whiteboard. It was kind of hard to do both at once. I’ll give it a shot and let you know. I want to be able to have this as an option at work too!! WebEx is so boring. But getting entire teams to adopt would be hard, so making sure not headset users can get a good experience will be important for sure. There’s a quest for work site I saw that I thought had some prices for teams… looking for it now.
Nope the outside user can only share screen, chat, raise hand etc. at least their screen will be shared in the room. They should add a whiteboard option to at least share that if they can’t collaborate on the workrooms board.
Thanks for watching! I was messing around with my pass through today you can make tweaks to make it a little better but there’s just too much noise and warping in the image to say it’s “good” by any stretch. Im looking forward to better hardware in the future
hi, I wish this was Teams compatible. I guess people waiting until avatars look more realistic so we don´t get distracted by cartoon graphics that to a point make the whole experience feel gimmicky because one knows this is very new and this needs to become socially acceptable and on profesional setting, unlike popular VRchat (a place I don't dare to go). thanks for video!
Yeah it does have some Zoom compatibility but you have to be on a paid plan with Zoom. Teams integration would be epic! I agree the cartoon avatars are really killing this. Because everything is here. I can’t find safe and normal interactions in VR chat often enough to go back in there lol! Thanks for watching!
the idea is there, sadly comfort and battery life are an added premium. i loved watching you play around with it tho, weirdly relaxing. im always scared of video calls tho, i never liked them, i'd rather be there in person
Hahah, glad you enjoyed. I’ve been watching more and more content where people aren’t yelling at me so i totally understand. And I agree with the comfort thing. I hope I see the day where this is as simple as lightweight glasses with a 10 hour battery
Should the movements/key presses of the mouse and keyboard I have connected to the quest get sent to the pc I remotely connected to? For me they don’t, so I can only use the app if I’m sat at the computer. I was hoping to use my computer from a different room.
One thing that put me off Horizon Workrooms (compared to alternatives) was that their support for Windows was sub par compared to what they offered for OSX. I couldn't make extra virtual screens on windows at all for example. I use virtual screens ALOT for work and currently immersed is my go to just because of how flexible it is but it frustrates me that Meta don't have a seriously competative offering by default. I truly believe virtual monitors are the future and as hardware gets smaller (think rayban style glasses able to do this) i'd hope that Meta puts more effort into delivering the best experience instead of relying on third party devs to fill the gaps.
Thanks for making this content. I like it because I can invite my colleague because only I who have vr.. Too bad until now i'm still struggling using whiteboard, but overalls I'm pretty satisfy with this for doing my work
It really is a great app! Sorry you’re having trouble with whiteboard. I haven’t had any issues at least while recording this. Thanks for watching and yes please share with others who aren’t aware of how useful this is! I’m going to start inviting people to it for meetings for sure!
@@TheConstruct_VR Oh! I actually have the Quest Pro controllers which have the removable stylus tips you can attach at the bottom of the controllers! I think their intended purpose was for workrooms specifically, but they don't get much publicity
Yo this is awesome! I've seen in the Air Link UI/Environment in meta quest you can kind of place your pc windows anywhere like vision pro but in a virtual environment, its really weird and hidden but interesting, im going to make a video on it when I get my Quest 3 in the mail. But if you could give it a try that would be awesome. Just connect your PC via air link i believe.
Yep there are desktop view options in quest link for sure. You should make a video on it! Go for it. I’m a fan of wireless though. A subscriber put me on to this GREAT link cable. I’m going to do a short or a video on it soon. Enjoy your quest 3! You’ll love it
@@bduwjww2626I had a problem like that with meta for a bit. They fixed it and gave me $15 store credit (which actually is like a free game because games aren’t that expensive) don’t hesitate to call support!
In the meeting space yeah it’s a bit too small. I feel like I wouldn’t like coding at all inside to be honest. I think the meeting rooms would be better for quick discussions maybe sharing wireframes or figma designs or something but I feel like eye fatigue would crush me if I actually coded inside. Do you code in a virtual space?
Apple Vision as a long way to be come consumer friendly enough to justify. The process of onboarding to a VR environment is hard enough without having to spend so much for a slightly uncomfortable headset.
Yes, that’s possible but unfortunately it’s one of the features that’s going away. There’s a web dashboard or sorts that has chat and files you can export whiteboards as PNGS (or maybe it was JPEGS) and share files there. As of May 30th they’re making some updates, this is a feature that’s getting squashed.
That’s a heavy looking contraption. My posture will get very bad using this already took me years to fix my posture. Can it be fixed or set to eye level? That price maybe a triple monitors with high refresh rate. What’s the temperature in the goggles I bet it’s crispy as hell.
This looks heavy but it’s not it’s mostly plastic. The after market head strap I’m using looks big but that’s to better distribute the already light weight. It feels like wearing a large hat. Yes you can set the windows to where you need them to keep your ergonomics. I was doing a horrible job on this video. But you can adjust position. Heat never really was a thing. This app isn’t pushing the headset too much. So the headset itself didn’t really heat up like it does on some graphic intense games. I’m the end I feel like it’s better for short sprints of work. I feel like eye strain will hit before anything else does. Thanks for watching.!
@@TheConstruct_VR Thanks I bought one! Im blown away. I was worried cause im 70 pid and max is the sweet spot for me. So far watcig 360 videos pretty neat. Still a little blurry can i connect to pc so i can power with my 4070ti!
Im gonna start using this when Codec avatar is launched, and i can join Teams meetings with the headset. As of now, i dont have the courage to show up in my cartoon avatar on business meetings
no prob on the response .. as you can see I like this stuff 😅 the MX ink makes me hopeful. You MIGHT be able to find an APK but I doubt it will work. The fact that they removed whiteboards the. Added a stylus is just wild to me. The old features with the new stylus would be perfect! I’m keeping an eye on the downgraded version. I haven’t heard a peep from Meta yet. I’ll do a video as soon as there’s something worth mentioning. Thanks for watching
Link in the description! I love it too! There’s one with a fan that I’m looking forward to trying. This one is super comfortable and keeps it from wrapping super tight to your face.
I liked Horizon Workrooms, but I stopped using it after getting tired of having to re-add my extra monitors after taking the headset off my face for few seconds.
Ugh. Yeah that sounds frustrating. I don’t know if I noticed that, I feel like they’re leaving the “Beta” tagged on to the end as an excuse for minor stuff like this. 😆
Too bad, that they 'll remove the whiteboard and a few other really nice features (like breakout room setting). But yeah, great video and workroom works really good for a little tream.
From the video i cant really read the screen. I know reading on my quest 2 is pretty bad. I was blown away by avp but still found it hard to read for over two hours. How does quest 3 compare? Can i do 2-3 hour work sessions using this set up?
Oh man! The quest 3 lenses are 110% better in clarity. The key is the head strap, especially for the AVp and its weight. I’m currently using an attachment the Fluid team put together along with the quest 3 and it’s super comfortable. Check out the latest video on fluid here on the channel and choose the chapter on comfort.

@@lihao4667 this is an older video the passthrough has gotten better since. But here’s the deal.. passthrough looks much better in a recorded video than in headset. Zoom in on this video and you’ll see a better representation of how it looks. In headset your eyes are really close to the displays so it looks more like your looking through a lower res camera. Not as perfect as real eye sight
Tap the hamburger menu on the whiteboard at your desk (bottom left) the whiteboard you’ve been working on has a download icon on it. It will save to your workspace (in the web brwoser) you can save it as a PNG from there
Yeah same. That’s one of the things coming in the update in a couple weeks though. www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/horizon/getting-started-in-horizon-workrooms/upgrades-announcement-workrooms/
What's dissapointing about all this is that Meta is removing the Whiteboard feature in the next update... And it was the coolest feature in the app. Thankfully there are alternatives as Immersed
Yeah I was disappointed to see the update. It seems like they’re aiming it toward more of a personal workspace or something. The updates will be interesting. I covered immersed right after this video actually lol. The whiteboard in immersed is ok. Screen sharing is more useful in my opinion across both apps.
someone in the management of a specific business that is mainly online has to be completely into vr ...to recommend this and actually buy the hardware.... and meta dropped their enterprise version offering and the headset is not perfect and is marketed as a console .....so that's why it's not that commonly being used ...when it could be very useful for people collaborating
They all do. The reason the recordings look better is because your eyes aren’t as close to the pixels so you don’t see the noise. A few things to make it look better in the headset. 1) Use it in a well lit area. 2) go to accessibility options and turn the contrast up or down to your liking. That’s about it!
No not that I know of Virtual Desktops is the closest thing. It actually has a client that installs on your machine as a virtual monitor. Still wireless though.
The keyboard tracking is smoke and mirrors. The selection of keyboards just places a virtual version of the keyboard over yours. So ANY keyboard will work. I’ve been using a Keychron K2 and its nowhere on the list
This was actually a few updates back. It’s just that recordings look better because your eyes aren’t so close to the screen. Are you on version 66? It’s quite a bit better. Is in headset. Also … a little pro tip. Go to the accessibility options and increase the contrast. It helps it look better. This does impact everything not just pass through.
Travel mode wasn’t live when I did this walk through. The version that’s currently live is VERY watered down, I would imagine it will work fine with travel mode active
It is… but it’s always in your periphery so you only notice in when you’re looking directly at your hands. I think watching a recording of someone else makes it stand out a bit more
It’s very business focused. There’s an entire dashboard with your meetings on it if you are another workrooms user. Non users have to join via desktop or laptop, mobile isn’t supported. You can pick up invites from your calendar inside workrooms if you’re already a user. I’m not sure if quest home invites to VR work. I didn’t have anyone to test with.
do people use this tho? like meta employees and other work from home office people? the occlusions are not that good honestly. I tried it as soon as I saw this video and I had a hard time with it... I think I can get used to it over time. not sure
That’s kind of my question. I don’t think people are using it and I wonder why… like what would make it more easily adoptable? I don’t use the occlusion either the little window is fine.
Also do you think something like this would be adopted on the AVP if it were more affordable? Curious if we’re just not ready for the tech or the tech is solving a problem that no one has
@@TheConstruct_VR haha. Probably not. this is not exactly what these devices are made for. Imho theyre only good for consuming media, and then quest 3 is obviously has great vr games. But for productivity, it is harder to type, or work with them on. As for typing on AVP the camera is good enough for me to type.
@@TheConstruct_VR right? Ive tried editing videos and photos with AVP and that was fun as long as you pair it with a mouse and keyboard. The whole hand tracking is hard to get into. Brings me back to the days where we have to type on on screen keyboard

It’s really an exciting device.
very true i have to try this on mine
It just look very unimaginative and shortsighted to me to reproduce an existing solution for another problem instead of trying to be innovative 🤷🏻♀️
Can you imagine hours of sprint-planning, or worse days of PI planning, in MR? The nausea would be insane.
Thank you very much for your videos! You motivated me to use my meta quest 3 not only for entertainment but also for productivity.
Tested horizont app today and it was amaizing!
Keep doing this videos ! You doing it very well !
Thank you for the positive feedback! I’ll keep it up! 🤜🤛.
Honestly the best comprehensive reviews about the quest from a small channel. I subscribed. You deserve way more.
Thank you 🤝. And welcome!
I get 4 monitors without a paywall in immersed
If you work in Immersed 3 days in a row, you get more screens, without a Paywall. Then I think you lose Pro access if you don't use it for 2-3 days, but you always have access to 3 displays, just like Workrooms. You also have access to more orientations and the ability to the screens where you want.
Great video though, and the options in workrooms is definitely cool.
@@AhmazinSKM I JUST noticed it when researching for a future video. I think that’s cool that they gamified the subscription. They get major points for that
Thank you so much I really want an Apple Vision Pro but I have quest 3 and your videos make me not have to get it anymore thanks 🤩
Hahaha I want one too! But I think we have to wait before it’s as useful as the quest 3. Glad you’re liking the content! That makes it worth it!
What I enjoy the most is the idea of being able to go from sitting in a closed room to being in a huge area or some pretty scenery. Something akin of going to the library to study. Great video!
Good point! Just simply changing your environment can help the workflow for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@TheConstruct_VR how does one do this? is there a video?
@@continuouslearner as of late Workrooms doesn’t have many environments to pick from. But there’s are so many apps that do try out this playlist:

I had no idea that workrooms had come so far, thanks for sharing! The video quality is still great so keep it up for sure.
It's pathetic as it always been.
@@mdsf01 yep! And with people working on locomotion we’re getting closer to that ready player one vibe too.
That’s awesome. So great to hear this. Thank you!
That's so cool, the fact you can have meetings like that is amazing.
Another excellent video! Thanks so much for this comprehensive look at Horizon Workrooms. Great work!
Thanks Melissa! Onward!
I'm watching this from my immersed work room on a mountain top lol.
Hahah Nice! I can’t get over the pay wall stuff. I know we all need to get paid but perhaps I didn’t give immersed a long enough shot.
Great video. Really appreciate how you had the multi-camera set up to cover things from all different angles. Lots of useful information as well. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
I agree with your concep. I personally purchased the Oculus for this. For being more productive in the university and work.
@@syrus3657 🤜🤛
Good demo, thanks.
Something I discover when working with the monitor is that you can adjust monitor settings in the operating system (windows in my case) like resolution and scale to do some adjustments. Works pretty good.
Ah man! I didn’t think about that. That would make things a bit crispers I’ll have to try it. Thanks for the tip!
Yes Please! :)
Keep up the great work, and thank you.
🤝
I’m bummed we’re losing whiteboards in Horizon Workrooms but I’m eager to see the updates coming end of next month. Thanks for watching!
I’m excited to see what they do with it
This is one of the coolest tech I have ever see, and the review is amazing. I really want to try it right now.
You first who's not show youtube monitor on multitasking mode. Thank you!👏👏👏
👍🏽👊🏽
Your videos are always on point!
Thanks for watching 👊🏽
I don't even work in any sort of setting that requires this sort of app but I Still enjoyed the video and do think that this seems like a very useful app. A couple minutes into it I was already thinking about how I was gonna show this to my girl cause she works for a college and do tons of meetings and collabs and even have quest 3s laying around. Appreciate the video it was very informative 🤙
Fantastic! These types of videos take quite a bit of time so it’s always great to hear that they are helpful! Thanks for watching
That's the best youtube video about Horizon Workspace!
🤜🤛
i'm a video editor and i just bought quest 3 last week, i bought it as gaming upgrade from quest 2 but i ended using it 90% in mixed reality. i watched like 5-6 movies and tons of youtube videos, AND i just realize i can connect my laptop to have a giant monitor while scrolling a giant instagram page on a side and replay whatsapp in the other. but i need to work in mixed reality and not full immersed, virtual desktop is ok but i can't open quest apps over it, the integrated remote desktop app is a must but idk how open more screens, or if that's even possible. need a lot of work on it but i've no regrets buying this little mini avp by meta lol. they really need to improve the ai for hand tracking and passthrough clarity, but let them cook
Yeah let them cook indeed! Try out immersed too. The latest video here on the channel walks
Through it. Great to hear you’re getting some use out of it!
SUPER helpful video. Pretty impressive features for legit work use cases.
Glad it was helpful! I really think teams would like this type of tech if comfort and ease wasn’t such a hurdle.
Hey bro, just discovered your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to see more. Good luck and thank you
Thanks for the support! 👊🏽 I will pay you back with quality content!
I am a 3d modeler/sculptor it would be really cool to be able to pull 3d models in and let others pick them up to examine them closely.
Most definitely shared experiences with 3d models is like one of the most solid real business use cases. I feel like AVP does the models best but lacks the shared experiences
nice vid. i just ordered an oculus and this helped give me a good idea of an app i'll try. 👍
@@john_mccarthy_hi this app has changed quite a bit since this video. Please check out the other vids the quest is amazing
We’ll explained
However, AVP seems a bit less cartoonish looking , AVP’s pass through is at a higher quality
Meta looks too cartoonish
( for me )
definitely a good job explaining your experience!

Yeah the cartoon avatar stuff is killing the vibe for sure. I look forward to more consumer friendly iterations of the AVP. The superior hardware would really shine in a matured software environment.
Thanks for watching!! 👊🏽
Excellent video! Thanks for showing me this!
Im using right now, it's so smooth.
It is! Someone in the comments said you can increase the resolution scale on the pc or Mac you’re using and it gets sharper in apps like workrooms
100% agree. I think Immersed has the individual in mind a bit more.
Thanks for this update. Sadly, just went in to realize their latest update is a downgrade of the version you showed, stripping out most of the cool features like the whiteboard, multiple rooms... maybe they're planning for another app? Not sure but from the reviews, many previous users are pissed off
Yeah it’s bad I’m editing a video on it as we speak. Keeping my fingers crossed there are better plans, I just updated the title of this video.
congrats for the great content, following from Brazil 🇧🇷

Thanks for watching!
"Uh, guys I gotta quit early again because of my 2 hr battery life. See you again tomorrow bright and early for another two hrs. 😃"

Yeah, unless you use the cable the battery life is shit for working, not enough time.
Very professional overview, well done and well spoken. Good job.
Thanks for watching!
I really liked what you showed for breakouts and presentations. Are there any interactive tools like game boards?
Great video! I wish the quest3 had better cameras for the passthrough
Thanks for watching! I was messing around with my pass through today you can make tweaks to make it a little better but there’s just too much noise and warping in the image to say it’s “good” by any stretch. Im looking forward to better hardware in the future
Great video, really enjoying your content 👍
Thanks man! 🤜🤛 glad you’re here!
hi, I wish this was Teams compatible.
Unfortunately no only Virtual Desktop does that. It is a pain that this is a limitation in both Workrooms and Immersed.
@@TheConstruct_VR Darn it, thanks 👍

Hahah. Right. For the friend par As I was recoding the meeting via laptop part alone I thought the same. 😄
Good luck on the job hunt though 👊🏽
Yes seriously. All of this. I hope the Workooms update next month is the start to a lot of change.
I use a normal whiteboard at home in my room for my own project planning, but maybe I could start doing it in Workrooms!
Give it a shot. I’m not loving the whiteboard in immersed. But the one in Workrooms uses the bottom of the controller so it feels a bit better
@@TheConstruct_VR Oh! I actually have the Quest Pro controllers which have the removable stylus tips you can attach at the bottom of the controllers! I think their intended purpose was for workrooms specifically, but they don't get much publicity

@@TheConstruct_VR I cant lmao. Its actually fixed now. thank you. tried a new account and new card and it works now
you didn't actually try coding work flow with the horizon office. You might find the screen being too small.
Immersed allows you to move monitors closer.
Yeah I’m hip. Did you do a plan to upgrade for more screens? I’m curious of how valuable Immersed is and if it’s worth the plan.
VIVE and Quest > Apple Vision
Apple Vision as a long way to be come consumer friendly enough to justify. The process of onboarding to a VR environment is hard enough without having to spend so much for a slightly uncomfortable headset.
Yeah bro
Totally agree with you
Vive is horrible no offense
I have a question pro and the picture quality is horrible
@@lr7815 quest pro is lower quality than quest 3 . AVP fidelity is top notch (maybe the best??), it’s just not a good all around device.
How about exporting the board and whatever you created? Are you able to use it elsewhere/send ?

Yep I recommend virtual desktop for wireless PCVR
Im gonna start using this when Codec avatar is launched, and i can join Teams meetings with the headset. As of now, i dont have the courage to show up in my cartoon avatar on business meetings

That was kick ass.
Could you make a video covering the changes in the downgraded version in a similar way to this?
@@JasDua I’ll put it on the list! The downgraded version doesn’t have much to offer unfortunately.
no prob on the response .. as you can see I like this stuff 😅 the MX ink makes me hopeful.
Thanks for watching
what strap is that? i love it lol
Link in the description! I love it too! There’s one with a fan that I’m looking forward to trying. This one is super comfortable and keeps it from wrapping super tight to your face.
Great video, thank you
Thanks for watching!
That’s sick! Why did they remove features?
No idea. Putting up a video in a few hours about this debacle. 😄
Yeah I saw. Enjoy what you can until May! lol. This is what happens when things don’t get adopted, no reason to keep it running
This is really cool could use some improvements but this is the future
Updates are coming next month. I’m eager to see what improves. They’re removing some of the coolest features though
@@TheConstruct_VR what are they removing?
@@ModerateDev
”To provide a more streamlined and reliable experience, we’re removing the following features:
Whiteboards
Workroom posters, logos, environments and layouts (including breakout and presentation)
Chat, files and links
Tracked keyboard”
www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/horizon/getting-started-in-horizon-workrooms/upgrades-announcement-workrooms/
@@TheConstruct_VR what the heck
@@ModerateDev right. That was arguable the coolest stuff 😆 I think people will use it individually more than with teams which may be why they’re shifting focus
Can you watch videos from your computer?
Not yet. The Remote Desktop app they built is in Alpha and is really rough right now. They do have Plex on their roadmap though!
I wonder does the pass through quality really as good as it shows in this video
@@lihao4667 this is an older video the passthrough has gotten better since. But here’s the deal.. passthrough looks much better in a recorded video than in headset. Zoom in on this video and you’ll see a better representation of how it looks. In headset your eyes are really close to the displays so it looks more like your looking through a lower res camera. Not as perfect as real eye sight
@@TheConstruct_VR thanks for your reply and explanation really appreciated
Since when can I feel taps on my phone from your video. When you tab something i feel a quick tab vibration
I think that’s with chapters. Every time there’s a new chapter you feel a little rumble.
Great, so I can be unproductive in virtual reality as well. 😂
😂 the most efficient inefficiency ever
How do you save the whiteboard content to be used for external apps on a PC/MAC?
Tap the hamburger menu on the whiteboard at your desk (bottom left) the whiteboard you’ve been working on has a download icon on it. It will save to your workspace (in the web brwoser) you can save it as a PNG from there
Not being able to resize/zoom in on a screen is kind of a deal killer for me.
Yeah same. That’s one of the things coming in the update in a couple weeks though.

@@TheConstruct_VR Oh that's great, checking that link out right now.
this is really usefull!
I think Immersed is much better for working the my PC, both windows and Linux
Excellent. Did you upgrade to the plan for more screens?
someone in the management of a specific business that is mainly online has to be completely into vr ...to recommend this and actually buy the hardware.... and meta dropped their enterprise version offering and the headset is not perfect and is marketed as a console
.....so that's why it's not that commonly being used ...when it could be very useful for people collaborating
Yeah good point. Enterprise use is a delicate environment for sure.
My meta quest 3 looks grainy with cameras, how can I fix it??
They all do. The reason the recordings look better is because your eyes aren’t as close to the pixels so you don’t see the noise.
A few things to make it look better in the headset. 1) Use it in a well lit area. 2) go to accessibility options and turn the contrast up or down to your liking. That’s about it!
Fluid was mentioned 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅raaaaaaaaaaa🦅🦅
Fluid is nice! I walk through some of it in the Spatial Computing video
Just wonder if we can use the quest 3 as monitor through cable connection?
No not that I know of Virtual Desktops is the closest thing. It actually has a client that installs on your machine as a virtual monitor. Still wireless though.
Does it only work with specific keyboards like before?
The keyboard tracking is smoke and mirrors. The selection of keyboards just places a virtual version of the keyboard over yours. So ANY keyboard will work. I’ve been using a Keychron K2 and its nowhere on the list
@@TheConstruct_VR thanks
Why your passthrough quality is soo good?
This was actually a few updates back. It’s just that recordings look better because your eyes aren’t so close to the screen.
Are you on version 66? It’s quite a bit better. Is in headset. Also … a little pro tip. Go to the accessibility options and increase the contrast. It helps it look better. This does impact everything not just pass through.
sick, i gotta try this man thanks for the vid
Aww man sorry to break the news. Watch the latest video on thy is channel. 😥
hi, did you also test this within unstable environment?? such as, airplane, cafe, bus, and car?
Travel mode wasn’t live when I did this walk through. The version that’s currently live is VERY watered down, I would imagine it will work fine with travel mode active
is the warping effect noticeable using it?
It is… but it’s always in your periphery so you only notice in when you’re looking directly at your hands. I think watching a recording of someone else makes it stand out a bit more
Gotcha, thanks. Really considering getting one@@TheConstruct_VR
Can people who part up on quest walk in to a workroom from quest home? Or is it still email invitation only?
@@techtrx yep perhaps it’s not something we need. I think it will be harder to get an entire team to put headsets on and get to work.
@@TheConstruct_VR right?
Ive tried editing videos and photos with AVP and that was fun as long as you pair it with a mouse and keyboard.
The whole hand tracking is hard to get into. Brings me back to the days where we have to type on on screen keyboard
