      Even 4070 Ti is ~25% faster than vanilla 4070.
      4080 Super is like 50% faster than 4070. Plus, it offers +4GB of VRAM. It is a very decent upgrade IMO.
      Taking into account the fact that 5080 will cost at least 20% more than 4080 Super, I'd say 4070->4080S is a fine upgrade.

    Enjoy your massive GPU upgrade with the 4080. Having the dual encoders will be beneficial especially live streaming etc and the extra vram is mo, an essential thing these days for modern game titles in UE5 and with frame generation being needed in some titles in early access it’s a very good option to get a vg GPU. Even though the RTX 50-series are due shortly, early details are advising they will be more expensive than the 40-series and not really much more performative in games.

      nah, adapter is fine, i know youve probably heard about the recepticals burning/melting on new GPU's and thats probably what prompted you to say this, but the adapter is fine, recepticals melting was a user issue where people who didnt know how to install a GPU plugged in the cable wrong and so the pins were only contacting a little bit, creating high current and heating up the pins.

    Congrats! It's a small world, actually. About a month ago I bought a prebuilt with an RTX 4060, but a few days ago I decided that area needed improvement, especially since I game at 1440p. So a couple days ago I ordered an RTX 4070, and I was so anxious to get it before I go back to work on Thursday that I paid for overnight shipping lol. I installed it today, and so far it works fine, but it's funny how even if you have experience working with PCs, it never ceases to be a learning experience. I plugged it into the PCI Express slot and screwed in the bracket, then I noticed I forgot to peel the plastic off the backplate. Then when I was on the manufacturer's website registering it for warranty, it asked not only for the serial number, which was on the box, but also a three-digit code -- and where was that code? On the card, next to the serial number. Instead of opening up the case and disconnecting everything, I just shined a flashlight into the side panel, and luckily I was able to see the code and jot it down. Anyway, I sure am happy with the extra performance this has given me, and the 12 GB of VRAM versus 8 GB on the 4060 is nice.

    ALWAYS turn off power when changing hardware. Its very important. You might easily destroy your components if not powered off.
    Besides, on the right side of your Mainboard, right under the RAM, theres a button to release the GPU from the PCIE Bracket.
    That was made for builds with big air coolers like in yours. The red LED on the GPU Power Connector is there to show you that it receives power and is a good sign. However, its only supposed to light up when you PC is in STAND BY mode.
    That other guy in the comments that told you to get an AIO Cooler has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. Your Noctua Air cooler is one of the most efficient CPU coolers on the market. An AIO will have no benefits at all compared to your current cooler. The only real difference of an AIO is how it looks. Trust me, you can do researching on that if you dont believe it. If youre ok with that, sure, go for an AIO. I am using one myself since im okay with the cooling power. But still, it will definitely not lower your CPU temperatures.
    Everyone starts as a noob in the PC enthusiast and DIY community. We all do mistakes and thats ok. I hope you will have lots of fun with that new 4080.
    Cheers

      @@SandRock9984If the 3 case fans on the right side are the same model as the others, then they are blowing the air out. This would mean your CPU cooler barely gets any fresh air and that would also explain the hot temps. So if thats true you should flip those 3 fans. Regarding the temps problem, i advise you to do the following changes in BIOS Firmware settings:
      Go to Advanced Mode in Bios (F7)
      -> Ai Tweaker -> Precision Boost Overdrive -> Precision Boost overdrive -> set to AMD Eco mode -> and then 1 lane lower, theres another option called AMD eco mode too and set it to 105w of power
      Then, about 3 lanes lower theres a setting for curve optimizer. Set to all cores, set Sign to negative and set the magnitude to 15.
      These settings will lower your CPU performance by approximately 10-20% but since you have such a powerful GPU it isnt gonna be a very impactful loss of FPS. I did all of these settings on my old ryzen 7700X because i hat very high temps too and the loss of performance didnt affect my gaming experience much. It lowered the temps by over 15 degrees Celcius. Luckily my new 9800X3D runs much cooler. If youre really going for an AIO in the future then dont use a radiator smaller than 360mm.
      When you’re done, click exit, save changes and reset. This should definitely lower the temps. If not, im pretty sure the CPU cooler isnt installed properly.
      Also, the corners of the ryzen chip dont really matter that much. Most of the heat is distributed in the middle. So make sure to flip those fans and try these Bios settings. If you need more help let me know

    • @SandRock9984
      @SandRock9984  Місяць тому

      @Caimcos those side fans were pre installed in the case and I actually tested it with a feather and it's blowing air inside the case. Also i made a stupid move on my noctua fans, i connected it to a low noise adapter which limited and lower the RPM of the fans which resulted in high temps. When I rem9ved it and directly h9oked it to the motherboard it's running n8ce now!

    By any means i dont want to be rude but for the future i highly reccomend a clean driver installation, once you change a gpu, or when you try a driver update. DDU is a great tool for that and maybe at this point the custom installation option inside nvidia installer for performing a clean install. Also applying a psu cable that may not be completely compatible to your psu is actually one of the most dangerous things someone can do to the pc. i dont know what kind of cpu you are using but this cooler in this case may steal all the airlfow, atleast your gpu has dedicated fans wich is a smart move. • @karlos1060
      @karlos1060 29 днів тому +1

      Not much difference between a 4070 non super as he had and a 4080 super. 66,66% at 4K more FPS on a 4080 super compared to a 4070. Test with 25 games done and that is the average. What are you expecting from the 5080? Double the 4090? It will probably get close to a 4090 maybe a little faster or slower.
      MSRP is most likely going to be 1300€. So if he paid a 1000€ for this gpu and the 4090 is about 25% faster at 4k 24% faster at 4K and 12% at 1080p and 18% at 1440p then the deal is a good solid one.
      I have the same gpu bought it almost 1 year ago at launch. If he paid more then 1K$ then it can be a bad deal.

      I don't think so. The 50 series, while the specs are "next generation" doesn't necessarily mean your current games are going to look or play any better, unless you're coming from something like a 10 or 20 series Nvidia card! Also, a 5090 will be at least $2300 USD, and a 5080 around $1600-$1800 USD. NOT worth it. Those cards are for other uses other than gaming, they're for AI production and rendering, other types of professional functions.

      @@WebbTech1 I mean, regardless if you will get 50 series or not, this 4080 will be cheaper by then. Going to a 4080 from a 4070 feels more like a sidegrade at that point. Leaked benchmarks shows 5080 FASTER than a 4090 as well. That is like buying a smartphone, a week before the next gen smartphone comes out.. Would anyone do that?

      @WebbTech1 Місяць тому

      @@Reason4Termination I'm not spending $2300 for a 5090 just to say I have the "latest and greatest" when personally my current 4080 at 1440p maxed settings (for gaming) is everything I need to experience. Of course the 5090 is designed to be faster than the 4090....and...like I said, THAT is important depedning on what one intends to do with it. I have no friends I need to impress with a 2k plus 5090! Also, 4080 or 4090 prices are not going to immediately plummet. I've been doing and seeing this for a long time, brotha!

      @@WebbTech1 And I have been here a long time as well. Back when nvidia drivers were called detonator, unlocking coolbits through registry, and even further back when there was software rendering. And one should watch when the next gen arrives before planning any purchase. HIs 4070 could keep up until the next 50 series arrived.. and it was just a few days worth of wait. It was obvious he was not keeping up to date with the GPU news. Hence, the remark.
      It is not about "impressing people", where did I mention that? If that is the first thing that comes in to your mind, then you should get your priorities straight my friend
