I found this out the hard way. I was texting my sister(in russian) and i would not use the proper punctuation and she would not answer my question. As i learned a question can also be a statment. Great video.

Yes, the first thing I learned when I started in this journey of Russian language is that Russian is easy because there are only three tenses (I think it was you who said that :) ) and the sentence is flexible. But Russian is really difficult. There are so much in Russian language. Reflexive verbs, perfective, imperfective, uni directional, multi-directional and cases. Not to mention phrases that don't have exact translations.
    Thank you for the refresher.

Hi Daria ! You are a wonderful teacher that makes the learning of Russian language relatively easy. You have developed the right mantra to build a rapport with your students or learners of the Russian language. Your attractive voice and charming look, enhanced by your excellent delivery of speech, punctuated by occasional pleasanteries, add to the magic of your personal style of teaching. I would not have taken to learning Russian if I had not blundered upon your channel.

This one wasn't so difficult for me, as a person whose first language is also flexible and depends on intonation for questions, I guess.
Any portuguese speaker here? Does anyone agree?

Yes! I was thinking about this the whole class!
Sim! Estava pensando nisso durante a aula toda.
A questão da entonação, o fato de ser flexível...muitas similaridades com o português (e claro que adorei esse detalhe, facilita pra gente, né? Hahahaha)

So, a little confusing... what is the technical difference between putting a stress on a letter (to say it normal), and going "up" on a letter (to make it a question)? It seems like stressing & going "up" are indistinguishable.

Awesome! I have never seen a lesson about intonation in questions. Now, I'm wondering if practicing saying the questions can help improve pronunciation. Since the stress is focused on more when asking a question, I think that after some practice, it could be easier to pronounce the question as a statement. The intonation in a question is similar to a stronger stress, more or less. Do you think that it's a possibility (to help with pronunciation)?

    • @RealRussianClub
      @RealRussianClub  6 років тому +3

saying anything will help improve your pronunciation :) so it's a good idea. but I wouldn't say that the intonation in a question is similar to a stronger stress

Thanks Daria . I am feeling a lot better . Must have right amount of oxygen going to 🧠 brain. I didn’t know you lectured in Russian history. The Anzac landings on the Dardanelles in 1915 are hugely recognised here . Unfortunately they went badly because of gross incompetence by British officers. It would have swayed Russian history if the straits could have been forced. The arguments started as soon as the last bullet was fired . Lolxxx

after an obsessive amount of Russian music listening and writing, word order flexibility became the normal to me, so l suggest all to do that, read and write like no tomorrow and you will become a god... ok you wont but do it anyway
by the way you look great! and thanks for the lesson, до скорого

in songs and poems authors tend to put words in "unnatural" positions in the sentence, so be careful :D

In russian you can deny using to affirmative words.
      -Ты сделал домашнее задание?
      - да, конечно!
Depending on intonation it can have either affirmative or negative meaning

You are really the best teacher I have ever listened to, i am Arabic and I am not fluent in English. Excuse me if you make some writing mistakes.
أنتي حقا افضل استاذة استمعت لها في الحقيقه انا عربيه ولا اجيد اللغه الانجليزيه جيدا انا ما زلت اتعلمها لذلك استمخدمت المترجم في هذه الجمله. اعذريني اذا وجدتي بعض أخطاء الكتابة

Surely one of the funniest teacher I have ever listened to (well, at least I am completely in with a sense of humour) and yet at the same time also one of the best one. Daria, you are excellent, it's a pleasure to learn (or try to learn) your language. Thanks.

There is a little bit of flexibility in English, although it usually requires a word or two to change. For example, "This is my computer" and "This computer is mine"
