FINALLY someone said that grammar is IMPORTANT
yep, well at least russian is pretty serious about that aspect :)
It's not that it's not important, it's just not that helpful when it comes to learning languages; but hey, if you enjoy studying grammar, fine, you do you. That said, if you hope to acquire a language by studying it's grammar, trust me, you won't go anywhere. Instead, invest that time in listening to natives in different content, preferably with subtitles in your language. Me, as an example, I'm able to speak a decent English just from watching content without studying grammar, and I've seen many people who speak grammatically correct languages with no grammar study, whilst, I don't speak french, even though we study it since early elementary school years until college.
@@fatima3411 it is helpful, adults don't acquire grammar easily (specially when it comes to complex grammar) and of course making mistakes is a part of a process but one should be confident to a decent extent to compose a sentence or two in the target language. skipping the grammar by just saying "it's not helpful" is a wrong idea. people should just bear in mind not to get super obsessed with grammar.
-how?
Study grammar until feel it is pretty intuitive to you.
@@amirmottaghy7751 Languages make sense only by listening and consuming a lot of content in the targeted language, and by doing that, grammar will automatically take its place without the feeling of need to study it, or that's for me at least.
@@fatima3411if you know grammar you'll consume it faster.
Мы знаем, что русский язык - сложный, и мы всегда удивляемся, когда иностранцы учат его и, тем более, если они могут говорить на нем. И мы никогда не думаем, хорошо или плохо вы говорите по-русски, мы заняты шоком от этого, и вообще главное - понимание, для выживания. (Но Вы шикарно говорите, правда, я бы умерла от восхищения, если бы встретила вас в реальной жизни). Пожалуйста, не сойдите с ума 💜
I hope i will learn Russian like İclal 🥲🥲

Я говорю порусски немного (ничего хаха). У меня есть один Достоевски книга, но я не очень знаю. Думаю я хочу книгу для мальчика. Любовь из Испании. (I'll study my own comment and learn from mistakes)
@@clipsdeunpyke9551 Classical literature will help with a COMPLEX vocabulary, often optional. If you want to have fun, you can find any English/Spanish/German book that you are interested in, but in Russian. Almost everything was probably translated in Russian. And the translations are almost always very good and quite professional, so... and it will be better than suffering over classical Russian literature, where everyone died in the end 🗿
@@clipsdeunpyke9551 вы прекрасно говорите по-русски! надеюсь, вы не против небольшого фидбека 😌
книга is a feminine word, thus that would be "одна книга". then there is a more complicated part :) we change the name of Dostoevsky. одна книга (кого? of whom? --> родительный падеж, genitive case) Достоевского. that's it! "у меня есть одна книга Достоевского"
"хаха" was natural 😁
also don't mind me asking but what "книга для мальчика" would supposedly mean? a book for a boy?

She's kind, but tough. She provides well-produced and inspiring content, and she has high expectations for herself but also for us. Sometimes when I watch a video, I feel like I'm listening to a supportive aunty that gives me a stern yet uplifting lecture at tea time on how I should get my life in order, because she believes in me so she has expectations. Take care Iclal. Thank you for the video. May God give you many blessings.
sooo glad my content was useful 💓💓 all the best
You are teaching the English listening, but above all not Russian......
@@iclalianoIclal, hi! I thought that you're russian
I totally agree. I have been studying the Russian language for just over a year, and I study it every day. From the beginning I was concerned about learning at least the basic principles of grammar, and I confess that it helped me a lot. There was a moment when I had to stop, because the grammar was becoming more difficult and because I needed to apply what I had already learned or my brain would burn, literally. Today, I study less grammar, but I write more, I listen more and whenever I can I dedicate myself to verbs and declensions. I know it will take years to master this language, but I will get there and with a lot of effort!
Greetings from Brazil!
Дико хорош!

I’ve been self-studying Russian for 4 & ½ years. This video was a great kind of summary of all I have learned, smashed into 1 BIG video! For me I understand HOW Russian works completely. I just struggle with knowing WHEN to use which one. I understand why something is supposed to change, it’s just knowing WHAT it changes to and when! I guess it just more practice 🤷🏾♂️. Thanks as always!
I've skimmed through the first several minutes and for most of the video I thought that you're native😭
You definitely nailed the pronunciation, awesome job!
oh thanks 😭

На самом деле, язык становится привычкой. Мы проходили всю эту грамматику в школе. Я специально остановил видео, чтобы вспомнить список падежей и вопросы к ним. Пришлось подглядывать. У вас неплохое произношение, кстати. Слух точно не резало. В общем, спасибо за видео -- давно не смотрел на родной язык с лингвистической точки зрения.
That was so impressive :))
Basics and similarities between the languages' structures is so interesting, and as for you, it's actually possible to do it! Pleaseeee keep going with these kinds of videos!
Uzun zamandır bunu bekliyordum. Çok faydalı olmuş. Çok teşekkürler.

As a german and russian learner i agree with you. For me listening Again and Again the same topic from different angles is the key.
yes! but i listened the verbs of motion from everyone on youtube, and at the end i was so confused that i stopped studying it and just started using what felt the most correct lol
Hi iclal i am in love with ur channel and personality and thx for the video (i rlly needed it cuz i am learning russian 😊)
So far, the best summary out there!
I just started learning Russian a month ago on Duolingo. I came across this video so now I’m learning about learning Russian 😎 I’m glad I had some experience with German for when you were doing those comparisons, otherwise it might’ve been information overload and my head would’ve exploded 😂
ahahah good, it's just to help the german speakers, not to make others suffer!
Your videos are so great. I've been struggling with russian for months but I still have difficulties with the grammar(and everything else). It's so inspiring to see someone like you speaking fluent russian and helping other learners with it❤
happy to hear 🤍 you can absolutely succeed
i love you for this video! you made russian much less intimidating. I'm trying to learn french and Spanish at the moment but russian is definitely on my list of future languages to learn! 💖

Спасибо за видео. Очень интересно и полезно!!🤗🤗💐🤗🤗
From a native speaker: we do struggle with our language a lot.
We've learned it around five times a week for 11 years in school, and we still make mistakes. Even adults. Even adults with a solid education. I graduated from high school with honors (in Saint Petersburg), and I have great linguistic intuition, but I wanted to cry while we were learning the forms of participles with Н in -НН- and -ЕНН-\-ЁНН- suffixes. And some other stuff. We had been learning grammar rules by heart and telling them later in front of the class. It was a pure torture. We had a lot of dictations, dictoglosses, and spelling quizzes - almost all the time. We always had 2 or 3 marks for every text we wrote: for grammar/punctuation and a separate one for your thoughts, and it was a common thing to have something like 3/5/5 (C/A/A) because it was hard to keep everything in place.
And yes, we respect everyone who learns Russian as a second language. We have no idea how you guys decided to do this voluntarily.
Take care!
Absolutely love your content, İclal. I've recently started learning Russian, and I find your content incredibly helpful. I truly appreciate it.
I was wondering if you could provide more helpful tips for those with a Turkish background? Similar to the references you make from German or French. Since you're also native Turkish speaker, that'd be very helpful for us Turks. Keep up the great work!

thank you for your russian advices 🙏
also you are a very beautiful girl
In fact, for years I have been observing the large number of people who claim to speak a certain language without ever really studying it. They are the polyglots who learned by watching videos and listening to music... They will never, ever have a certificate, because they don't know how to write in the language... it's a shame. Unfortunately, there are a large number of people who advocate immersion, but without grammar they will be illiterate repeaters of ready-made sentences.
Великолепное произношение, молодец!
I hope you'll make the French version of this type of video. I like your content, please keep going!!!
Спасибо! I’m grateful to find this channel! Я изучал русский язык по два месяца. The online service I’ve used is called Rocket Russian which I mainly went with since it’s a one-time fee rather than subscription. I’ve paired that with an English-Русский dictionary and online resources like this channel. I’m thankful for the honesty regarding the difficulty as I’ve had to lean on a lot of humility and patience as an monoglot. I look forward to more videos!

That's great video thank you so much I almost lost motivation but I'll give it another try. And I request you to make video on German language too please like this!
Great video, it has helped me understand Russian better especially the cases. Even though I'm Slavic, I have trouble with Russian genitive and prepositional since they're a lot different than in my language.
Btw, at 16:12 you used the term conjugation. Just to remind you, conjugation is for verbs, and declination for nouns, pronouns, adjectives and numbers.

As a native speaker of Russian, I highly praise your efforts, Iclal! Very good done indeed, пожалуйста, продолжай в том же духе!
On the flip side, I think one of the real things that adds to the headache of (any) learner of this (super rich, hence beautiful) language is this bare truth that you have to live with - the number of grammatical EXCEPTIONS in Russian OUTSTRIPS the number of grammatical RULES! That's the way it is! There's no one to blame for, that's how the Russian language has evolved throughout history. You can do almost nothing about it, but immerse into a community of native speakers. Or be disciplined enough (!) to steadfastly make your brain absorb these exceptions on your own. It's gonna be tough BUT possible. Oh boy, I still remember the tables of words we had to memorise at school... Just my ¢2!
"Why do I know that? I learned it with time" 😂 that's me when I try to explain to my friends how to learn a language, and they look at me like I'm an alien or something 😂😂😂

Selam aleykum ve merhaba Iclal😃. Nice video. I've been interested from Russian for most of my life, lol. I never studied it though, just learned little from my friends etc. I can speak Serbian quite fluently though. So just now recently I started to look some little things in Russian, like short videos and reading some youtube comments, checking up some words from the dictionary now and then just merely out of curiosity etc. I noticed that I can understand quite lot, often the vocabulary is almost the same or very similar in Russian compared to Serbian, although Serbian has a lot Turkish loanwords in daily usage but the core is quite Slavic in general. Sometimes some words are more similar to Ukrainian than to Russian though. Very interesting. The grammar also works in similar ways with masculine, feminine and neutral etc.
Amazing videoooooo !!!!!! Pls Make more videos about learning Russiannnn )))))

just nitpicking a bit, but the correct word for putting words into cases is decline (declension), not conjugate (conjugation)
