- No more lousy control and trusting hobby servos!!! Throttle/Steering controls are directly controlled by manual cables and are spot on now, couldn't work any better. Very VERY happy with the end results, kits are made to order. www.painlesstom...

Really cool boat and setup, I liked the way you did the video with the drone. Interesting.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thumbs up all day 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That's a cool little set up , perfect river runner!!
did not see the rapid run
to bad you guys don't go back to the 2012 modal they are much better
Rapid run? LOL There are no rapids on this river. 2012 and older were more useful, unfortunately I have nothing to do with what Mokai makes. They've gone a different direction and ruined what theses boats used to be.
three piece sucks and you dident need a jet protector in the old ones....why are they screwing up i good thing...
Because their ideas are always the best ones..... *sigh Have no clue my friend, haven't talked to too many people that were happy with it at all.. On the bright side, I've come up with solutions to pretty much every problem so far, so the investment could be salvaged.
Kyle Kishbaugh EXACTLY!!! They royally F*CKED IT UP!!
totally agree. Fuck price would be like 1500 dollar or something.
Can be used on the sea as well?
bet it still sucks up stones in the shallows the old one was better
Yup, this one is worse about that since it sits lower in the water, and the intake grate is right at the back of the hull now, so it's the first thing to hit. Old models were definitely much MUCH better boats.
Hey this was a very well done video. Very good editing. The product seemed to be awesome. Good job!!
Thank you, I appreciate that! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. :o))
Quanto costa mokai??
I think I would go to a pistol grip type ,,,,like a Bobcat controller stick front to back and side to side and a trigger
Throttle so your wrist get wore out faster right.. well all the same I want one ☝️ yes yes but,,,,,! ♿️♿️♿️♿️♿️
My twist throttle with a tension screw lets you set the throttle and let go, or you can set it so there is no tension requiring hands on. The point was to go to direct cable controls and make it simpler to use, while making it truly reliable. The factory servo joystick moves all directions but it's miserable to tolerate and is highly prone to serious issues and failure.
I Love these boats - and I also love the mods you have made. I was looking on the Mokai website and they ship internationally. I think I will have to start saving up for one of these and get it over to the UK. One question re stability - I have terrible balance and had to quit messing round in kayaks as I kept going over. Gave it up. How stable are they at rest - ie when you are getting in and out and the boat isn't moving?
Thanks. They are more stable than a kayak, but you could still have problems getting in and out if you have balance issues.
i know Im randomly asking but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Edison Anthony Instablaster =)
@Benton Maverick I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Benton Maverick it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass !
how far can you go on a tank of gas? what's the top speed?
what kind of quadcopter are you using for overhead video? looks very stable and no jello. like the set up in the mokia. hsve fun.
Thanks, the quad is one of my design that I created to be waterproof. www.Stealth2o.com No jello is from balanced props, no vibration. ;)
Grouse vid excelent footage.Grouse means cool OZ lingo.
We love our cup holders in this country.
tis awesome, just what I was looking for (almost) . I just want to be able to buy the jet motor assembly.. and put it in own of my own boats that I make. small 7 1/2 ft. -- to -- 10 ft. wooden boats..
Won't work, and Mokai wouldn't sell you the parts anyhow. Jet ski would be a much better donor.
true use a just sky. plus better mods 4 the jet ski engine as well.
That looks interesting for something that would be easy for one person to load or unload about how much does one cost and what size and engine and what speed are they capable of and how well is it to fish out of
Not easy to load etc.. unless you are in really good shape. Takes about 15 minutes to assemble, same to disassemble. They sell for $5400 + shipping and I make a selection of upgrades to make them run better / more reliable. Average person in the 200 lb range will see 11-13 mph, 170 lb range 15-17 mph. Fun to fish from, many use them for fishing and hunting.
+ImprovingYourMokai $5400 is a lot for something like that but as they say what ever floats your boat!
I agree, they missed the mark with it for sure. A few years ago the last model was $3800, and much more usable.
such a unique rig that I really have been all over the net to purchase the best one for me. this one here is outstanding. one question, could you tell me why a lot of folks are so high on the 2012 model that I've read is no longer in production? what made that one different? thanks for any help, and this great vid, Chris
I could write a book on the differences, the 2010-2012 were the best boats Mokai made. They missed the mark with the ES-kape, but with a lot of work it can be made usable. The previous model was one piece hull with direct cable controls for throttle and steering. The ES-kape is a three piece hull that comes apart, and has a worthless electronic control setup for throttle and steering that uses a joystick and hobby servos. It doesn't track straight, and does not come close to filling the shoes of the previous models. You can find everything about any of the models at www.improvingyourmokai.com
thanks, this has opened my eyes before purchase. the servo thing would keep me leery while traveling a longer distance downriver. I'm on to your site friend, I wish you well.
If you would like an explanation + visual of the differences, check out the video that Aquachigger made call "my mokai kayak" or something to that effect
heck yea, that's how I discovered it! he was hesitant to go into too much detail tho I could read between the lines. thanks Justin!!
haha me too! i have no place to use one of these but i still think that they are very cool. unfortunately that they changed the design in an unsatisfactory way. take care
Hi mate how did you made those side flaps... looking good
Thanks. A member on my forum makes them. They work good to help the boat track straighter, and keeps water from rolling up the side of the engine compartment.
Cupholder? Sold!
What kind of drone were you filming with?
It was one I created, the STEALTH2O. www.stealth2o.com
qual o preço de um deste . e show
The steering is back to front, for being on the right hand side of the boat.
Push forward to go right, pull back to go left, and twist clockwise for throttle. Just like the old models had that worked so well.
People who ride horses, or drive vehicles with handle bars, would automatically steer the wrong way.
Not necessarily... I've rode bikes half my life and had no problem getting used to this, nobody that's used it has had any trouble making it second nature.
As a child, I built a go-cart that had the steering wheel function back to front, I got used to it. Then I ran a dive boat, and at the critical time to pick up a diver, I turned the wrong way and ran him over. So getting used to back to front systems is dangerous.
Overhead control gyro copters were banned in the USA for the same reason, the controls worked opposite to those in aeroplanes.
I switch between side to side and front to back steering all the time, for many years, I also switch between flying RC helicopters, airplanes, and cars too. Just takes coordination, I suppose some people just don't have what it takes. But in all the years I've worked on these boats, and customers around the world that have them, I've never heard of anyone, WITH ONE, complain about front to back steering.
They've been like that since 2000. ;)
that is an awesome small boat how can I get one
Find one used, or contact Mokai directly.
nice ride what river is that
The Altamaha River where it runs through Long/Wayne counties in GA. Awesome place to fish and explore.
nace
what does a Mokai es-Kape cost ???
Too much. LOL $5400 + shipping ;)
Hi friend, I wonder if I can only buy the turbine
I have a kayak and would like to install it on the same
Please tell me that they come in different colors
They come in green too.
Now that's what I'm talking about that yellow is killing me
There is a lot more to take into consideration about these new models than just color. Highly recommend checking out my forum and reading up on the ES-kape before deciding. ;)
I'm more worried about that front end if you lock it in place does water still come up through there me and one of my friend was talking about that trying to figure it out we don't know how good it's sealed when you put the front on
You could put the boat in the water without the bow section attached, they are closed sections. Not an issue. It's the servo controls that are unreliable and tedious to use, it's the pump hanging out the back with no protection and using a plastic steering nozzle. The air plenum for engine cooling is half the size it should be and the motor overheats. The hull is less stable than the last model since they wanted it to steer faster, now it doesn't track straight and takes constant input to keep on course. The old one piece model is twice the boat.
whats the price on one new?
New ones are $5400 + shipping if you can get them to sell you one. Then about $1000 + to make it work right.
ImprovingYourMokai from what I understand the new ones CAN'T go in shallow water, CAN'T stop leaking due to being in 3 bloody pieces now, Don't go near rocks as u may suck them up and /or just off the no unprotected jet drive...why is is when something is great the way it is....someone has to come in and "improve it"AKA(f*ck It up)
These draft a couple inches more than the previous model, but with my pump guard they can go in pretty much the same shallow areas. I don't like the 3 piece design, but it hasn't been a source of leaks. The servo controls, air plenum size, and exposed jet drive, are the three major issues with these. The new hull shape makes it less stable, and is prone to wandering now, requiring constant course correction, and the ability to ride hands free is all but gone. I can make this overcooked steak taste better, but it will never be on the gourmet menu. lol
