Hey, I know this an older video but this is exactly what I need to to to my “11 A4. I didn’t see it listed in any other comments posted but I’m looking to buy the whole timing chain kit, did you purchase as a kit? Part number? Also the girdle screen, it was out & I didn’t notice if you installed as new one. This video is worth gold to me! Thanks so much! I KNEW I didn’t need to remove the entire front clip!
Hello Neil, Yes I did buy a whole kit. I usually start my search on sites like ECStuning and FCPEuro. They are very good sources for factory or OE parts, and no I am not sponsored by them lol As for the girdle screen, I just remove it completely. It is not filtering anything more than the oil filter. But as with any engine good oil maintenance is key to these engines. After the repair, it maybe a good idea to run an engine flush through incase you have any debris or sludge in the pan. More often than not when the guides break apart they end up in the oil pan and restrict the flow of oil. You have to remove the pan to clean it, a flush will not remove them. One other thing, The chain kits do not come with the oil pump tensioner/guide. It is also made of plastic and more often than not it is brittle and will break. Makes sure to replace it while in there. Thanks for watching, hope this helps.
If you want to replace the oil pump chain, you need to remove the oil pan and the oil pump. I have never had to replace that chain. Only the guide tensioner due to age. Thanks for watching.
Well nothing is unfixable IMO. If your asking if it will need more work then just a new timing chain, the answer is yes. Most likely rebuilt cylinder head. I have a video up on rebuilding a vw 2.0l head.

Question! What all tools do I need? Wrenchs socket etc
Do you have to remove the oil pan and baffle to remove and install the oil pump chain? That wasn’t shown in the video. Thanks.

Well the radiator does not need to be removed, but the front end does need to be in service position. Thanks for watching.
If the timing is already gone is the engine un fixable on Audi engines??

At least new valves, it WILL bend the intake valves.
What was that part number ?
What part number are you looking for? I can look it up right now for you.
The special tool that you had to use?
thank you
You're very welcome. I hope i was able to help even a bit.
The music is a lil too much. I’m having a hard time following what you’re saying.
Yeah. I've learned a lot since posting the older videos. Thanks for watching though.
