The year was 1978, it was my 1st boy and girl party. We gathered to watch "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" . After the movie the lights were turned down low and music was turned on. A few songs in "Kiss you all over" was played, I had kissed a girl before, but this was my 1st make-out session. This song will always have a special place in my memory. The 70's were such a great era to grow up in. By the way the movie was terrible.
My childhood (Borne 1965) is 70's and 80's and for me, the best music was made in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Every day, I need some of that music. Today.....Exile.....still love this song.
This was like the ultimate make-out song when I was in high school. You Never played this song when your folks were around! 😀 But man, did it get heavy rotation inn the radio on the weekends! 😉
In these divisive times it is very refreshing to watch your reactions. You bring a calming and positive vibe for your viewers. Thank you and God bless you!!!
I was listening to this when I was in a store and didn't realize I was singing out loud. The first part where he gets deep sounding I had hit it just right I guess. An older black lady said "Damn man, you need a manager and start really singing". I said "But I can't sing". She said "The hell you can't, because that was so sexy and wonderful to hear." I'm like "WHAT"? I was just "kinda" singing along but didn't know others could hear me. But I said "Thank You Mrs. But I can't sing or read music." She said "Well, just sing songs you already know because I just love your voice".
Exile originated as a high school band in this region where I live in Kentucky. My 6th grade teacher was the mother of one of the band members in the 1960s. I used to catch them at the local county fair in the early 1970s in their early days when they were starting to catch on. Kiss You All Over was their biggest hit as a rock/pop band in 1978 making it all the way to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Jimmy Stokley, the singer with the hair, left the band in 1980, later fell ill, and sadly died in 1985. Stokley was later inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. The band turned to country music with a southern rock flair in the early 1980s and made it big in that genre with numerous hits that even made it to number 1 in the country charts throughout the 80s.
This was the sexiest song of that year. Seriously. Memories from high school hahahahaha! I think you'd LOVE "Staying Power" by Queen. It's from their more "disco" sounding stuff, but holy cow it ROCKS.
I actually saw them in concert a few years ago. Awesome band. They have a huge catalog of stuff, like Middle of the road, nobody's talking, super love, etc.
The Midnight Special was one of several syndicated, 'live', music shows on tv back in the day. American Bandstand was on the ABC network, while Midnight Special, Soul Train, & Don Kirshner's Rock Concert are all the ones I can remember, but there were more. And, yes, for the most part, the recording acts would, 'lip-sync', to their own recordings in front of an audience - something about being easier to film that way. Solid Gold was another one of those shows, which came along in the 80s. Part of the fun was seeing singers mouths not moving to the lyrics in time. There was also a British import called, Supersonic. Other British music shows include Top of the Pops & The Old Grey Whistle Test. There were a lot of shows back in the 60s, as well, but they'll keep.

And Still the One, Dream Weaver, Shine A Little Love, I Keep Forgetting, I’m Alright, Devil Woman, Hot Child In the City, Break My Stride it’s just a nostalgic trip for me when I hear those songs!! I was very young in the seventies, but my sister is older than me , it was her era, so as a teen in the eighties , I would go to her place on weekends and we would drink wine and listen to her albums and singles. This was one of my all time favourites.
My son's birthday is the 8th of July, too. Born in 1976 just four days after the National Bi-Centennial Celebration. I wanted so badly for him to be a July 4th baby but he was having none of it! He's still stubborn today at age 44....!
Such an amazing tune. I've seen a lot of people using Kiss You All Over as backdrops for videos and images. Awesome song. It's great to see these classics getting revisited.

👍🏻👍🏻 Awesome!! Must have been such an amazing experience!
@@ChickyParm1972 Wolfman Jack was there I spoke with him for a couple minutes!
Wow.
Live at the Bowl version
This was my favorite song in 4th grade!!
Good make out music back in the day. hahaha
I used to stay up until midnight every Saturday to watch this show! It was so cool!
I actually saw them in concert a few years ago. Awesome band. They have a huge catalog of stuff, like Middle of the road, nobody's talking, super love, etc.
Omg! This is literally one of my favorite songs! One I listen to on my play list constantly. Keep em coming!
*JAMEL THIS BAND BASICALLY TURNED FULL COUNTRY AFTER THIS SONG. THEY NEVER HIT THE ROCK SCENE AGAIN.*
So true they also pushed jimmy stokley out he passed away from a liver failure he was the best singer in my opinion
One of my favorite guilty pleasure songs! So glad you posted this. Love your reactions.
"When I get home babe, gonna light ya fire 🔥" Damn I love them nights !!!!
Check out Walter Eagan- Magnet and Steel
That’s a great one
Oh yes. That was a great song, too.
Haven’t heard that song in a long time!! I get goosebumps when I hear that song!! And Still the One, Dream Weaver, Shine A Little Love, I Keep Forgetting, I’m Alright, Devil Woman, Hot Child In the City, Break My Stride it’s just a nostalgic trip for me when I hear those songs!! Oh and Sentimental Lady, Cool Love and Moonlight Feels Right
All about he and Stevie Nicks! Awesome tune!
This was the jam.... I loved being raised in DC ... we got the best soul & rock music !
I have so many memories of me and my mom watching this and just laughing together. So glad you did this Exile song!
Thank you for bringing all these great songs back for me! Every song brings back so many memories haven’t heard a lot of them in many many years.
Do more Midnight Special. I am amazed how great the bands sound live back in the day.
Oh! Snap! How did I forget about this old 🔥 jam? That bass though - the epitome of GET DOWN ON IT!
You gotta get a smile seeing him get into the music...he’s getting in the mood...his lady tonight is going ask loudly what the hell is wrong with you?!
I love love this song!!! Thanks for playing it Jamel.
The Floaters Float On!
Charles, Ralph, Larry and Paul. Not to many people have heard of the Floaters.
We have good taste Jamel!
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Cancer...and my name is Larry...
Love that song!
YES!
Yess!! Love this song 💕
Hah. During this song I was thinking of the Cheech & Chong parody of The Floaters called “Bloat On”. In 1977 they were doing parodies before Weird Al!
I have
I was very young in the seventies, but my sister is older than me , it was her era, so as a teen in the eighties , I would go to her place on weekends and we would drink wine and listen to her albums and singles. This was one of my all time favourites.
The twang on that bass. Hadn't seen the live version. Nice that this was what put up on my birthday. haha
Happy ??st!!!! You don't look a day over ??th (or ??rd, for that matter)!
My son's birthday is the 8th of July, too. Born in 1976 just four days after the National Bi-Centennial Celebration. I wanted so badly for him to be a July 4th baby but he was having none of it! He's still stubborn today at age 44....!
They got a new lead singer later on that could blow that dude away. Exile killed it on the country charts later in their career.
Soul train was awesome, RIP Don Cornelius!
Such an amazing tune. I've seen a lot of people using Kiss You All Over as backdrops for videos and images. Awesome song. It's great to see these classics getting revisited.
I remember this song on the radio a lot as a kid (and we watched the Midnight Special all the time back then).
" Ah We all singing!!".. Awesome!!! thanks for keeping it real Jamel
Greg Kihn "The Breakup Song"
The official video for "Jeopardy" would be ridiculous.
One of my favs 👍
Didn't really like jeopardy. But this just seemed right. Great song.
That is a very bass-forward mix, and deservedly so. One of the great #1 hits of the late 70's.
Anything by Squeeze! "Pulling Mussels from the Shell," "Another Nail for my Heart," "Black Coffee in Bed."
Such a great song!!Great band!! Love...love this one!!Oh...oh...cutting the rug here!!🥰👏
The group kinda went country back in the 80''s. The had a country hit called Give Me One More Chance. nothing like this song though. but good.
It's my understanding this group was all country with the exception of this song.
too bad eh?
I Remembered that song
You're absolutely right, it was a good song, but not as big a hit as this song was
Got a couple albums and a "best of" on MCA. Because Curb had moved to MCA from Warner Bros, all of Exile's hits (to 85 or 86?) are on it, so it's pretty good.
They were great as a country group too.
This is one of my favorite songs! I was able to see them live, front row and had backstage passes.
One of my favorites to play on guitar, gets my wife stary eyed
I was 13 years old in 1978, this song was huge! Great memories!
Reacte to climax blues band "couldn't get it right...." pls
Definitely!!
Fantastic - cow bells!!!!!!!
Yea that's a great one.
React to their I Love You song
Midnight Special....never missed it....we were so fortunate to see all these amazing performances
I like the studio version better...
Same!
Yeah, the mix was way better and so were the vocals.
Fantastic song! Takes me back to my childhood instantly and my parents playing this!
Hey Jamel
Seeing as you definitely enjoyed this song, you should also check out the song "Hot Child In The City" by Nick Gilder
🙌 Waaay back Wednesday!! Roller skating days ❤
@@christy2808
Oh my gosh yes. Weren't we cool crossing our feet on the curves or being cool skating with your hands in your pockets. I LOVED the rink was there every Fri and Sat for two years straight in the early 80s. Didn't even skate half the time. Walked around just talking with friends and dancing in the middle of the rink barefooted, making out in the dark corners (good ole Jerry P....)
That for sparking that memory...
@@loki6253 Goodness YES- "calling all couples to the floor", "it's ALL skate- everybody skate", hokey pokey, carpet walls & Jolly Ranchers! Girls weren't cool unless they had pompoms on their skates, a comb in back pocket and feathered hair!! Those good ole dark corners 😉 Back in the day, the rink was the least expensive babysitter for parents! 😂 I pretty much lived there- that is if someone else's parents could take or pick up! MEMORIES ❤
Omg i loved this song..the video is creepy though..about young teen prostitution..and sexualizing teen girls
Prefer the long version of that one myself.
Loved The Midnight Special growing up in the 70’s in Canada, Every weekend! I am loving all your videos. Just watched your reactions to two of our Canadian treasures, Neil Young and Gordon Lightfoot. Another Canadian treasure from a slightly later era is the band, The Tragically Hip. The lead singer died of brain cancer in 2017 and the entire country mourned. Check out their song New Orleans is Sinking, Thank you for bringing joy to all of us. Your reactions truly come from the heart and soul.
Simplemente perfecta esta joya, más es una obra de arte !!!!!!! La amo !!!!
I loved to dance also !!! And this was a great song to dance to at the Disco Clubs !!! I'm an old disabled lady now & haven't been able to dance for years....but still move my arms & head. Met my husband on the dance floor.
Pablo Cruise. Gotta hear them “What You’re Gonna Do”
Yes. That line that says, """....so...you're having trouble with your romance? ""
Awesome song! haha
That was a great song, too.
Absolutely!
The very first time I listened to this song I was about 12 years old, did not speak any English back then but somehow I got the message of the song! Pure heart!
