Yes, as a woman, I can say it should “make any woman’s day” to hear that….at least the right woman’s. Any woman who wouldn’t appreciate it, you shouldn’t be interested in anyway. It can be expressed in a respectful/complimentary way & if/when that happens, it’s an all-around “win, win.”😊👍
I graduated high school in 1978 and as time goes on, I'm more and more thankful for growing up in that era. We had the best music in every genre. In rock, there was Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Boston, Styx, Kansas, etc. In folk we had James Taylor, Carole King, Cat Stevens, John Denver, etc. It was a very rich time, musically, in all genres.
The late great Jimmy Stokely with the long hair, they lost him at 41 years of age to hepatitis. This was / is their greatest hit to date. A real earworm of a tune that never seems to date.
Haven't heard this one in years! The harmonies of the '70's and '80's are hard to beat, and a big reason why today's music quite frankly isn't as good.
Your right about the cassette thing, Phil. Your choices in the '80's would have been fm radio or cassette (and maybe a dated 8-track, but those were mostly phased out by then). CD's weren't mainstream 'til the '90's. And you learned the hard way not to leave your cassettes laying on your dashboard in the hot sun, lol.
Let's not forget the 50's and 60's and the great groups from back then like the Association, Frankie Valli and the Four Season, The Beach Boys and many, many others.
SAM, it really showed how much you enjoyed this song 😊 Or was it the whole KISS YOU ALL OVER idea that got to you? Either way, I truly enjoy your physical reactions You two are great!!!
Jimmy Stokely (long hair) sadly passed at 42 years old from complications of Hepatitis. He WAS this song, to me, and even though the group is still around, I feel he was the draw for the song back then.
In the 1970's Artists wanted to sound at least as good Live as they did in the Studio. The Musicians took pride in sounding like they did in the Studio.
This is an example of rock with country influence. The harmonies, in particular, were a hallmark of that era in country, with bands like the Oak Ridge Boys.
Eight track and cassettes, vinyl and radio was all we had. They may have been a one hit wonder in pop, but may have had a number 1 in country. I loved all of the music in the 70s, but also 60s and 80s. I had about a thousand records. Then I converted them to cd, and accumulated 5,000 cds. I absolutely love this music.
70s kid here. Great reaction. Strong memories of my first girlfriend in the summertime when I was a 9th grader and she was a 10th grader. This was on the radio a lot and she and her sister also bought this album along with a bunch of other albums, and plus I had a bunch also, and this was so popular for a while, and whenever they sing, I want to kiss you all over, she would flash me this devilish grin, and it would just totally slay me, lol.
Back in the day this was an excellent song to listen to at the skating rink on a Friday night. It's a fantastic tune and no one, i mean no one disliked it. Everyone got into it, even the older generation.
I remember the song but had forgotten Exile! This was written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. They wrote many hits for many artists, most notably the Sweet and Suzy Quatro. Cheers.
Your right I can't remember if it was 2 or 3 albums they cut. There music was out of this world good this is the only song they did that made a major hit . Stokley had a vocal range out of this world. Hold Tight Woman was very good Devils Bite almost made it to hit status . They played at club 68 in Lebanon KY twice a month almost cost $3 to get in I was about 20 miles from there and spent the weekends there. Th lead vocalist maybe the best male vocalist I've ever heard . he did die from hepatitis and a broken heart JP can tell you about that if you can get him to tell the truth about it. Their then manager had JP to let stokley go. That was their end as far as pop rock goes they was far better at rock than they are/was country.
You overlooked the excellent piano work on this song, especially on the line, "when the night closes in." That's the instrument that Shands out to me. Thanks for the reaction, B & B!
I was born in 70 and remember loving this tune!!! It was HUGE at the roller rinks. Thanks for the trip down memory lane guys!!! Have a great day... GO BOSTON BRUINS!!! 🤟👏🍻
We are all still listening in Sept 2024 the younger generation love our music I am 78 & still listening to my music it keeps me young at heart mind & body
The music of the 50s 60s 70s and 80s was the best music in my opinion That's not to say that there isn't some good music today I was born in 68 this music takes me back Not just back to another time it was a different world Listening to the music from back then is like looking at photos of a long passed friend and all the memories that go with it
There are certain people who can pull off certain unique styles of clothing. Jimmy Stokely, the lead singer, is one of them. Freddie Mercury, David Bowie are some others. There are many more though. God, we had such incredible music back in the day!! RIP Jimmy.
This song was HUGE! It spent a bunch of weeks at #1 in 1978. They were a one-hit wonder on the singles chart, but they were actually the first to record the song that Huey Lewis made popular, "Heart And Soul."
I was a child of the 70’s and in my opinion was the best era of music of ALL TIME! ( 70’s was REAL music! Not the crap they call music today! I was (and still am ) a fan of classic/progressive Rock from the late 60’s through the late 80’s with the 70’s being the best!
Great song, huge hit that was played all over the radio stations back in the day!We did have The Sony Walkman back in the late 1970’s and could go running or hang out on the beach with the headphones on!
The Beatles changed music forever and dominated the 60's, showing everyone that bands and artists could create their own music, and in the late 60's and through the 70's is when creativity and talent was at its musical peak, imho. So much of the greatest music of all time was brought to life in those two decades!!
👍🤗. I loved the seventies I was in high school and married with 2 kids at the time!!😂 . And we listened on the radio am and then later FM stereo!🤗🤗. It was a great time in my life and was topped off with great music 😊. Thank you guys I really enjoy you. Have a Blessed Day 🦋
Good reaction. It always helped make a song popular when the lyrics were easily understandable and easy to sing along to. Thanks for acknowledging how we had to wait for the radio play to hear it. One of the improvements today is seeing the artist's name. I knew this song but not "Exile". "Free" is another great band with good hits but I only learned their name a decade ago on xm radio.
Not a bad tune on that record. Try "You Thrill Me". They were a really good disco group that came out just before the death of disco. Then they became a country band.
Love this one! I used to watch Midnight Special every Friday night was I was a young teenager! I remember watching this. We also used to watch Don Kirshner 's rock concert.

People could actually sing back then!! That’s what’s up with the 70’s 😅
Yep - Practice and practice to build up your Abilities and talent. You wouldn't dare let a machine do your work like they do now............
and they were much more creative then
TRUTH!
And communicated with others much more ❤❤❤❤
Damn skippy
Back when men could tell a woman she was beautiful and sexy - and she didn't find it offensive! Thank God I was living the love back then. Great song.
Oh so true or just date an older woman who will appreciate affection!😄
Still can! LOL Tons of songs saying the same things today, just not in the office.
Or maybe today's women don't put up with creeps

Class of 77 and I couldn't agree more.
💯👍🤘
Bicentennial Class of ‘76 and totally agree!
Class of 1977. I agree 100%
Class of 79 couldn't say it any better. I had to look to make sure it wasn't my comment!😅
Watched Exile performing this on The Midnight Special when I was a kid. My parents allowed my brothers and I to stay up late on Fridays to watch
With all their faults, radio was indeed the medium that brought music into greatness and the record companies found & filtered the talent.
The late great Jimmy Stokely with the long hair, they lost him at 41 years of age to hepatitis. This was / is their greatest hit to date. A real earworm of a tune that never seems to date.
Yeah, this song was fire back in the day and it’s still a great song now. Totally timeless.!!
Haven't heard this one in years! The harmonies of the '70's and '80's are hard to beat, and a big reason why today's music quite frankly isn't as good.

You two are great!!!
Right 😂 I’ve been listening to the little River band harmonies man they were fantastic ❤ it’s a long way there and NightOwl are fabulous songs
In the 70's we listened to AM and FM radio, cassettes and 8-track tapes in our cars.
AND played records on our stereos........
Jimmy Stokely (long hair) sadly passed at 42 years old from complications of Hepatitis. He WAS this song, to me, and even though the group is still around, I feel he was the draw for the song back then.
I agree

You will never get this song unstuck from your brain now that you've heard it.
And that's a good thing.
Nice to hear, this generation appreciating the quality of the music and lyrics. We grew up with it, just taking it for granted and loving it.
i was a teenager in the 70s and im pretty confident i grew up with the best music
AAAAALLLLL DDDDDAAAAYYYY LLLLOOOONNNGGG
You did Frank Merris
Excellent song❤ Yes, the harmonies were awesome. So nice to hear this one again❣️.
So nice to hear it for the first time too!
Exile went on to be big in country music in the 80's.
Yep, i was devastated after that. They should have stayed rock....
They had some great ones!
• Give Me One More Chance
• I Can’t Get Close Enough
• Nobody’s Talkin’
• She’s a Miracle
Didn't they do a country version of Kiss you all over?
@donalddixon6541 get out of here ha ha I like their country ones.
@@kennethgodwin7769 They did re-record for one of their Greatest Hits album in 1990.
This is an example of rock with country influence. The harmonies, in particular, were a hallmark of that era in country, with bands like the Oak Ridge Boys.
Bet there was a lot of love making to this song in the 70’s! 😝 I’ve always loved this song
70s greatest decade ever in music
Eight track and cassettes, vinyl and radio was all we had. They may have been a one hit wonder in pop, but may have had a number 1 in country. Back in the 70s, my brother and I didn't have much cash, so we held tape recorders up to the radio to record songs we liked.
An absolute Classic!!
Perfect late night early morn tune 👍😉
✌️❤️🇦🇺
when they all kick in on the " Till the night closes in " reminds me so much of The Bee Gees

I don't know about that but ill Google it . I thought jimmy and JP Wrote that.
My husband and I enjoyed our first dance together as man and wife to Exiles "YOU AND ME" from their "MIXED EMOTIONS" ALBUM. The whole album is great.
P.S. We have been married for 44 years.

That’s 70s baby makin music right there
I started my freshman year in 1970 and graduated college in 1978 and I have no regrets! Love our music and so enjoy younger people appreciating it!
You overlooked the excellent piano work on this song, especially on the line, "when the night closes in." That's the instrument that Shands out to me. Thanks for the reaction, B & B!
They are still touring... just seen them and Alabama a little over a year ago.
They are still sounding good live.
Really? That’s awesome, had no idea 😄

@williamyates694 Awesome!!! Same here. I was born in 1970 as well. Such a great song.
1978, I was a junior in high school. Exile was from Richmond, KY (near Lexington. I believe the group started in the 60s.
Love this song , i have this on my ipod , i first heard this back in 2000 when i was 15
One of their country oriented tunes, "Super Love" is worth a listen for sure.
We are all still listening in Sept 2024 the younger generation love our music I am 78 & still listening to my music it keeps me young at heart mind & body
We steamed up a lot of car windows to this song back in the day!!! Ahhhh....the 70's was a great time to be a teen!!!
The music of the 50s 60s 70s and 80s was the best music in my opinion
That's not to say that there isn't some good music today

Not just back to another time
it was a different world
Listening to the music from back then is like looking at photos of a long passed friend and all the memories that go with it
The Band Exile formed in 1963, in Richmond Kentucky.
This song will never sound old.
There are certain people who can pull off certain unique styles of clothing. Jimmy Stokely, the lead singer, is one of them. Freddie Mercury, David Bowie are some others. There are many more though. God, we had such incredible music back in the day!! RIP Jimmy.
Some of Kentuckys' finest!
70ths great, rock, hardrock, soul, disco, punk, glitterrock, progrock, ............
Most music from the 60s 70s and 80s is fire.I am glad you found the music I grew up with.

the older you get so will your choice in music enjoy the quality music
This is one of the most underrated songs of the 70s. So glad you guys covered it!
One of the songs that instantly takes me right back to flying around the rink with my crew, rollerskating to this. Great memories.
Beautiful track, RIP Jimmy Stokley.
Music is a Time Machine itself !
Adam Sandler sang this as Happy Gilmore 😀
I was going to say that, too lol
Only reason I know the song lol 😂
You no want breakfast?
That song still kicks ass exile were rocking out
KICKS DONKEY HARD
ALWAYS loved this song. Brings back so many memories…..🎶
Guy has a radio station voice.
the 70s - long hair, platform shoes, bell bottom pants, polyester shirts and the muzak great time to come of age

I dont know how this music hasnt made a comeback AS-IS!!!
First heard this song in the movie Employee of the month, loved it ever since!😅
I love the timekeeping in this song. I find the skip beat leading into the chorus to be very pleasing. Just a great tune.
I LOVED THIS WHEN IT CAME OUT I LOVE IT TODAY!!!!WOW 63?
Now you can go down their rabbit whole very great band for over 50 years
Love this song 🎵
From what I know, they were a country rock band…this was their only pop crossover song that was a chart topper #1 Billboard Hot 100.

First time I even heard this song was in Adam Sandlers, "Happy Gilmore" back in like 1997 when he was singing it over the intercom! LOL.
Yes!!...I came here looking for this comment. 😃....

Yea they sang a song from free damn I can't remember to the name it was awesome.
ALL RIGHT NOW !!
Lights down, comfortable couch, slow touching, Exile in the background = recipe for a beautiful time.
Love this one
Such great harmonies, for sure, great song!! One of my favorite oldies!!❤❤❤
Occasionally in a 70’s tune you never hear the title, lol!!😂😂
The extended version is awesome!
Classic 😂
The title is “Kiss You All Over” because it’s better than anything else they could have chosen
I knew you guys would love it, great late 70s vibe.
Not a bad tune on that record. Try "You Thrill Me".
They were a really good disco group that came out just before the death of disco. Then they became a country band.
Great tune. Man, how was I so lucky to have grown up in such an awesome era.. 😀
Born and raised kentucky boys right here.exile is a well known kentucky band.
love this
Back in the 70s this song was considered to risky for the radio, and a lot of stations would not play this song.
Love them heard them the other day on RFD channel they are older but still sound great.
On Larry’s Diner? That’s where I saw them and I was surprised how good their sound was.
In the 70s and 80s we argued about which group was the best. 40-50 years later we're still arguing, but it's still about the same groups.
They were formed in Kentucky I forget the year I performed in a band in the 90s that opened for them
Your should check out the Bellamy Brothers, "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body" and "Old Hippie."
Great song, reminds me of my youth.
These guys went on to become a huge country act in the 80s and into the 90s with several big hits.
Bad ass band! F'in great song
I'm loving it 🎶 🎵 😍!
Great song and reaction
Yes Please........❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Loved this as a young man, good memories. You said it, the 70s had incredible harmonies
Back the you had to have talent. Great music, great instruments, great lyrics
Love this song
Love this one! I used to watch Midnight Special every Friday night was I was a young teenager! I remember watching this. We also used to watch Don Kirshner 's rock concert.
