Cheaper by about 30 cents for every 100$ you spend, but then you get that back from the rebates anyway. You should be more concerned about the other factors brought up in the video, and that's why the tax is needed.
The issue is coffee growers are experiencing water shortages around Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil etc ... prices will probably go up $2-$4 on each coffee bag customers buy but it wont affect the coffee chains like Tim Hortons or Starbucks because they have a huge supply of coffee
I think that years ago, coffee prices were already on the rise. A 16oz package disappeared from the shelves and was replaced by a 14oz package with the same price. Even the quality of the coffee was inferior, therefore I stopped drinking 3 cups a day and only have my morning cup and I’m good.
Also, east asia's got cloud seeding & damn shenanigans to rules out _first_ For droughts in AG in general, the state & changing state of the regional ecology due to farming methods etc is the major factor. But also dry spells happen naturally, esp with el nino weather wrapping up what just this year? Do we know what's actually happening? no, because brave journos don't even want to consult a meteorologist when they can just slap of government policy label on it and get paid. brill
Coffee plants, like all other plants, need carbon dioxide in the air to grow better! - The more carbon dioxide, the greener the planet! Didn't you know that, boy?
@@hea3794 Plants die if they don't get enough water, are burned in a wildfire, or get swepted in a flood ya know? All thanks to man-made climate change.
Just an excuse to raise the price just like any little skirmish raises the price of oil. First off, Vietnam grows pretty much exclusively robusta which is just filler grade and no one wants. Brazil has both but even its Arabica is not of the same quality as Central America, Columbia or East Africa.
I drink decaffeinated coffee only. I live a decaffeinated life. Decaffeinated coffee should not increase. I can barely afford decaffeinated now. Do not increase decaffeinated coffee prices…In fact decrease decaffeinated coffee prices. Decaffeinated coffee beans don’t jump as high as caffeinated beans!

Prices have already spiked at no frills. Prices are already double so this is just better news for the grocers to rip off customers. $15 for 450 grams. 20% will see this price goto $20 just because they can. You get no frills after shopping at no frills that's for sure. Canada is the worst.
Cool! I quit drinking coffee 2 weeks ago. Never liked the taste. Dr Barbara O’Niell video convinced me coffee is unhealthy. I need to give my extra coffee beans away.
Tims and Starbucks make everything smaller , croissants , coffee , donuts ... so now their prices will go up again - BOYCOTT THE SOB's
their prices wont go up ... its the coffee growers and sellers who will raise the prices of their coffee beans and products towards the customers
Coffee will one day be sold as REAL luxury.
So will food.
yesterday?
Pineapples used to be $3000 after adjusting for inflation. Only nobility had tasted it in Europe.
Great news ! Coffee farmers deserve better prices. Roasters and coffee shops have taken the lions share of profits all these years.
I mean the price hits on consumers wallets, no on the ones who gets the lion share lol. We should axe the lion share
Coffee is a must, I will consume it
No matter what it takes.
I'm switching to tea.
Axe the tax and coffee prices will be cheaper.
What?? did you even WATCH the video?? tax has nothing to do with it stop being ridiculous.
You are correct Sarah. Unfortunately some people think that the groceries just magically arrive in the stores without freight charges.

We need Juan Valdez. He was able to supply coffee at a reasonable price to the entire world.
@@Magdalene777 ha ha yes good one my big coffee beanie 😃
you can already get Juan Valdez instant coffee in Canada

15-20% increase is not as bad as I thought...I thought they said it was 80%. That 80% freaked me out.
Glad I left Canada and now live in a Coffee producing country :)
Hopefully not a country with carbon taxes.
Brazil? Colombia?
You do realize that they export all the best beans, eh?
What do you think has happened since the beginning on this planet... Geez the climate changed!

I'm going to buy up all the coffee I can get my hands on.
Coffee prices up, Starbucks closing stores and sales down.... Sounds about right.... Lol
it's ok, i'll just drink hot water then.
Gotta support fair trade.
These countries should implement carbon tax to tackle their climate change. Good climate, more coffee

Say it isn’t so😭😭I’m paying $8 a Starbucks
The coffee I drink recently went on sale so I’m stocked up for awhile. What’s Starbucks?
