@@jasminepeterson5766damn hahaha! We have so much of that fruit in down South but not really common here in the Northern part and capital city of our country because of the smell. I haven’t eaten one of that tho lol because it stinks and the smell lingers lol. I only tried the candy. I remember one of the tourists eating that in a park, we can all smell it😅 and that one person in our office who stored it in their locker, the entire hallway smelled😂. I wanna try it and it’s a favorite fruit in Davao but I am still kinda hesitant to buy it because of the smell. I haven’t even seen it in nearby wet markets here lol so I don’t think it will be overpriced. Durian has been known in our country for years but not all people from our country eats it lol. Thanks for all the friendly and interesting answers. 🙂 I would for sure want to visit Southeast Asia some day. I hope I will. Then I'll try all the strange fruits you are mentioning.
Here in Norway there's delicious apples, plums, cherries and other fruits in the Hardanger Fjord just south of where I live, where warm water come with the gulf-stream all the way from the Gulf of Mexico with weather that make my country into a quite normal country and not like Greenland like it would be, without this current. And the forests are full of the sweetest berries. There's no predators, except on the border to Sweden (Bears and wolves and wolverines) and no dangerous insect or snakes. Most of the year, in fact, there's no insects at all here. And I've barely seen 10-50 flies and other bugs this summer. That's one blessing to be living in a country so close to the Arctic.
So I return the hospitality and wishes for people to come see my country. Specially here on the western coast, where the deep, long fjords, the snow cowered mountain peaks, glaciers and beautiful, lush and fertile landscapes are.

Most of the Asian produce we get in the West comes from China and Southeast Asia although India is a larger producer. Even after 75 years, Government of India, regardless of political party in power, is busy enriching its political base giving crop protection and guaranteed prices to only crops that are mass produced in the Northern plains and let farmers from the rest of the country fend for themselves. It's only in recent years that Delhites are seeing what fresh young coconut looks like though it's common in the South. If you watched the video carefully, these aren't shipping to US either because of lack of affordable irradiation facilities. Farmer sells to middlemen and gets only Rs.350 a kilo. He has to because they perish fast and he has no support to fall back on. GoI does this to coffee, cardamom, coconut, peppercorn, rubber, areca, coconut etc that grow in western Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra.
