Fantastic brother…congratulations. You’re gonna love it 👊

Oh boy!

Congrats dude!!!
Thanks for an informative video! The bunker approach makes a lot of sense. What I'm not sure I get (from you or Chris or others) - how will the retrieval of firewood from the bunker work (how do you keep a FIFO approach as the bunker expands, do you have to remove the fence to get at the wood) - just not not picture that side of the process.
@@BuckCountryWoodyard that’s an excellent question Buck, I didn’t address it, partially because I don’t know the exact answer, however, I made two bunkers for this specific reason. One can be drying while the next is being loaded and then as I pull from one the next will be drying. So on and so forth. When it comes to getting it out I left a little fence “gate” with 3 zip ties that I can just snip and open/walk in once it gets low enough. It’s very easy to open and close the fence since I just used zip ties. As far as FIFO, I’m not worried about that. In fact I expect the first in to take longer to dry than the last in since the last will be on top getting wind and sun. Basically my plan is to unload from the surface (top and sides) when it’s time and just continue digging into the checking moisture. As I’m doing that process, the other side will be where I load the fresh split wood.
@@FoothillsFirewood That makes sense - thanks for explaining! Mark
Nice, it looks like you got a good market in your area. It seems more people burn wood than i thought prior to selling wood.
@@thesheff79 yeah it takes some time to build up reviews or clients but once you’re the guy known for good quality dry wood it seems the flood gates open. I’ve never not sold out!

Nice inventory Britt! Glad your sales are doing so good man! My sons help me with the daily wood chores also. Enjoyed it brother! 👊🏻🔥🪵
@@TwinCityFirewood thanks so much Jacob! My son does a fair amount of huffing and puffing (sometimes) but I hope he looks back on it all as a fond memory with pops! Worst case scenario he learns to appreciate a warm house haha
You look like my yard in October. I am currently in a mad dash on the weekends to get count up and rebuild inventory. Hauled in 1.5 full cards this weekend alone. 😉👍
@@DanielAtkinsFirewood we’re still limping around from the snow blast 4 inches of snow shuts stuff down around here pretty good Lolol we just don’t get enough snow to have the infrastructure to deal with it, in fact we usually just get ice 🥶 thanks for the comment Daniel!

I agree it’s been a crazy wood season . Like you said if I split it I sold it . Well less the green wood .
@@jasonpinnix1905 a wild season to say the least. I could probably find you another 75 customers next year I had to turn down so many people lol let’s get to cuttin brother
@ well your 75 and the 50 I have told I was out we are already behind for next season 🤣
I've never heard walnut smoke is toxic. I had a campfire this past summer and 99% of the wood I used was walnut, I also inhaled a fair bit of smoke from that fire. I'm still here🤷🏽♂️
We only got a dusting, it's mostly melted now.
Any wood that doesn't rot has a little bit of toxicity to it. Give your balls a tug for heaven sake, walking out your front door will eventually kill you. 🤣 walnut isn't the brst firewood but it doesmake some pretty decent charcoal
Hey Britt , we got some snow but now it’s all Ice since it sleeted last night . Man , that makes my feet cold

Soo. Instead of spending several hundred dollars on that useless device. Why not keep the money and put the bag over the 5 gallon bucket?? Just saying.
@@roughroosterknifesharpenin5531 what you’re seeing here is me bagging noodles for firestarter, like I said in the video, I don’t sell firestarter. I do, however, sell firewood and this bagger allows me to bag my bundles easy and fast. It paid itself back from the bundles I’ve sold and my time is worth more than wrestling with busted plastic constantly!
I'd be worried about that floppy bag getting caught in the saw if that were the case.
@@dadsquatch79 I’m not picking up what you’re putting down? There’s no bag near a saw?
@@FoothillsFirewood no. The original commenter. Seemed like he was referring to putting the bag in the bucket while you sawed. I guess catching the noodles while sawing. 🙋🏻♂️

Sycamore my man I ain't never split it but it's plenty full here I need to figure out what it belongs in,do you know much about it?? Snow five inches so far on this side of mountain, you got any yet???
@@jessejones9830 oh yeah buddy we got between 3-4 inches currently. As far as the sycamore goes it’s mid range heat, 19ish million btus, it stinks while splitting (IMO) and it can be a bear to split. I mix it in bundles or truckloads of mixed hardwood. Burns great in a wood stove too, but for heat there are often many better options!

Sycamore. It grows near rivers and streams around here
@@blueridgebackwoods4231 it’s a water loving tree, you’re exactly right. You often find them on banks and river bottoms. And it must drink all the water because it feels like it’s 99% water off the stump lololol
