      @@nevinthebros cut. It was about to be firewood and I figured I’d let it hang out a bit. It guards the post behind it because right there is where I get dump loads of firewood and some of the logs like to roll down the hill into the support pier there.

      @@dereksstuff8395. Fiskars and I do NOT recommend them. I have so many because of lifetime replacements and another one just broke and they’re telling me I can’t get a refund or replacement. I’ve got a video about the entire situation coming in the next week or two.

      @@FoothillsFirewood absolutely man, all I have left here is some Black Locust that I’ve threatened to push over into the stump dump more than once. I started my little side hustle before I really looked at places to store wood. We typically burn between 7-9 cord a season here personally and I’ve only got like 3 available for bundles. I have to be super careful haha. I Look forward to meeting you at HOPE if you can pull it off my friend.

    I appreciate the video. I mostly split into my dump trailer, and then stack into totes. A month ago, I had to stack almost 5 1/2 face cords onto pallets at once,…and I was hating life at that moment 😂. Probably 90% of it was small bundle sized splits. It took forever, lol. For some reason, I don’t mind stacking into the totes. I guess because I have them lifted off the ground with my tractor,…or I’ll have them raised from sitting on two or three pallets.

      @@amandadavis9726 yeah that and the fact that stacking in totes is about the neatest way to keep a woodyard. There’s nothing better than a bunch of great looking stacked wood totes! Unfortunately the tote market around here is bananas. They used to not be able to give these things away and now some of them are 75-150 dollars each. Thanks so much for watching!       @@FoothillsFirewood google “bulk fluid delivery near me.” There should be some companies that show up, that sell automotive fluids in bulk. Some of them don’t have enough room in their yard to store them before they can recycle them. If you can find any,…I’d suggest to show up and ask to speak to the manager about having them available. You’ll probably end up speaking to the headquarters located out of state if you call. Also, you’ll prefer the ones with that had antifreeze, because you may have to consolidate the residual into one container. I just so happened to have found an ad on OfferUp for $15/tote. I went and picked up 26 per load, once a week for two months. It was fun processing them all down before I moved, lol.

      @@paulwilliams5208 you’re 100% right and that’s what I tried to begin with but there’s not enough room on the underside to swing the lock around and lock so I had to resort to flipping it. Smartest comment I’ve seen yet!

      @@dons8122 yeah this isn’t a high traffic situation. If someone wants it the lock is useless no matter what it is. They can yank the entire box and take it back to the comfort of their own living room to count my 6 bucks 🤣 thanks for the comment!

      @@furkin73 this would definitely be the most ideal way for sure, but there isn’t enough room for the lock to swivel and lock underneath there so I had to resort to putting it upside down 👎

    10 seconds or less and that lock can easily be removed. Hopefully you dont have any tweakers in your area cause thats an easy target.

      @@erichesse1889 we’re in a pretty good area but we’re not immune to the tweakers for sure. This thing holds 5-10 bucks regularly so it someone decides to yank it, it won’t take the cheese outta my macaroni. Thanks for the comment!

      @@07kstephen well…. Since there’s a big cash slot cut into the side I’ll have to say no but, all gov issued milsurp ammocans are air and water tight via the seal/gasket under the lid. I was referring to the fact that the seal was still depressed and not popped as these things have an “unlocked but not opened position” thanks for watching!

      There’s a saying that windows and locks do no more than keep an honest man, honest. Of course you could snatch that shit off the post (no grinder needed). If you want to be an asshole, anything is possible. But most people don’t shit where they eat and I’m sure there’s a camera somewhere.

Obviously, most crimes are of opportunity and a lock is still useful; just not really a end all be all, which nobody realistically, including you, I and the poster expect them to be.

      @@FoothillsFirewood very close but just outside a pretty large city not in North America. It’s not even picking I’d be worried about, its hammers. Had my shed robbed a couple times and seemingly all those padlock style locks can just be wacked open.

    Буквально на днях мы с мужем убирали уже подсушенные дрова в поленницу. И я задалась вопросом, как людям удаётся делать круглую укладку дров, со стороны выглядит такой вид укладки просто потрясающе, но на вашем видео я заметила, что середина выложена хаотично, неужели все так укладывают?😁 Я думала, что круглая укладка идёт с самой середины!🙈

      @@Jenny4ka83 yes! In a traditional holzhausen you stack the outside and toss the center in. I’ve never seen anyone stack the center. In fact as you stack the wood it naturally wants to bow outward which is why you see those horizontal pieces causing it to lean in onto the pile more! Holzhausen is a great way to stack a lot of wood although if you’re using it for heat I wouldn’t stack as high as mine if just go about head height so you can grab off it it easily.     HH is a real PITA. If you need to heat with wood 100% the HolH is too fussy to mask, difficult to take for burning. We tried. The 'normal' stacks are more effective IF using wood for primary heat. And the splits inside this round pile stay wet. Yes, it is cute and pretty. JMNSHO

      @@annaaron3510 the holzhausen is the perfect way to stack a lot of wood when you don’t have a lot of space. My woodyard is full of cord rows and space is running thin. No other way for me to store 8 cord of wood in a 12ft circle. As far as the heating goes. This wood won’t be touched for 2 years. I’ll definitely give an update with a moisture meter then if you’re still around! But yeah if I were using this solely as heat wood I wouldn’t prefer to come outside and climb the ladder for my next burn 🤣 Thanks for watching!

      Been doing the holzhauzen the last 2 seasons. Do the "shingles" really make that much of a difference in drying?

      @@wirthwhileproperty the shingles definitely allow the stack to shed water as they will be sloped just like a roof would be and peaked in the middle. Using the trees natural water shed (the bark) really allows the wood beneath it to stay dry but it’s definitely not mandatory. Rain would just pour into the stack probably a foot or two and then dry out on the next hot day or two. It’s an aesthetic that serves a good purpose, but probably far from mandatory. Even if I wasn’t going to use bark shingles I’d place my splits in a a manner that allowed them to shed the water from the peak instead of just throwing them up there into a pile.       @@AroundTheYard-MN 12 ft wide and currently 12 tall to the peak once I get the roof on probably 13 ft at the tallest point. Of course after I’m standing on it the camera shot is from almost 20 ft up

    Better than power washing with water, is using a jet from an airline. The dirt is mixed with oil and comes straight off.

    Every week i take them t25 screws out and remove the plastic cover arpund the clutch. So much dirt gets in thete and heats up the flywheel
