i've used one called a Load Handler for probably 25 years. it works great. i've unloaded a ton and a quarter of coal and a bed full of gravel many times. with those things sometimes it takes a bit to get it moving but then it comes right off. for firewood it is a breeze.
@@rodeleon2875 yeah what a great option, it obviously doesn’t replace a dump trailer but at 10-15k for a dump trailer vs 40 bucks for one of these… this looks to be my future for the foreseeable timeframe 🤣thanks for watching!
@@WC3fanatic997 I’d have to see the tailgate setup of the trailer to know for sure but this would be an excellent option for a trash trailer. I’ve also got some tips that will make it better if you decide to do it! I’d be happy to take a look at it, should be able to tell pretty quick by looking, if you wanna shoot some trailer pics to beverhart1985@gmail.com I’d tell you whether or not I’d do it!
@@FoothillsFirewood I appreciate it, might not be anytime soon but I'll consider it after hearing some of the good things I have from others. I can easily alter the trailer to make something fit, though the more I think about it, I have a feeling the trailer might be too low for any proper amount of ground clearance for the actual crank handle; I would probably have to shorten it somehow.
@@KMaN5150 you could def weld a nut on the end of it and use a drill. The only question is would the drill have too much torque and then pull the mat out from under the material. My guess is it would work….. and now you might have given me an idea for a new video 😎
@@KMaN5150 stay tuned I’m off work today and I’m actually about to weld something up now! Thanks for the idea. It may be a week or two before I post it!
You should go out and buy some lottery tickets. That was your lucky day. Glad you had good luck with that unit and I hope it continues good for you. I have one but have not used it for gravel like I want to. I have to wait for the back to get some relief before taking that chance. Stay safe and save a lot at Harbor Freight. I certainly have save bunches over the years. Fred.
Hey Fred! I felt the same way when they said oak and hickory. We get a ton of oak around here but a hickory call always puts a smile on my face! *update* I’ve delivered 2 truckloads of split firewood and it did awesome. Maybe 20-30 pieces left in the corners. 10 out of 10 recommend! Thanks for watching!

I use the hell out of mine. Best $40 I've spent at HF. I overuse mine and have had 0 issues
I do recommend that if you haul sand or gravel that you put down some 3mil plastic before you roll out the unloader to load
@@jakelords24 that’s awesome to know. This thing has been working great. It could last a single year and it would be worth 40
I think the plastic bed liner is the key .
@@jasonpinnix1905 I do agree that you’d prob need either no liner at all (metal) or a plastic liner. I prob wouldn’t try in on a rhino liner type bed.
The the size of rounds that definitely makes things easier. 😉👍
I’m curious to see how it works with split wood. Biggest log in here was 13-14 inches most were 6-10 inches. It definitely is worth 40 bucks!
Wondering how this would function mounted to a light-duty trash hauling trailer . . .

I wonder you could rig up some sort of adaptor for a drill
