Nothing better than a clean work space!👍👍

I need to get one of those totes and try this method, currently I just rake out from under my machine and burn or take to the dump depending on how much it is, I don't have a spot where I can just dump in the woods here. Maybe in the new wood yard I'll have a dedicated spot to pile up🤷‍♂️

There’s definitely still some raking to be done, but this thing cleans up a large amount of it or at least contains it!

A clean workspace is a safer workspace. I have a Super Split, which is easy to move. I have two of those sand free mats that’s I’ve had for 15 years or so. They work well in making the cleanup much quicker. I roll my SS onto them and let all of the slash fall onto them. I just fold the corners and then lift the mat into an IBC tote bladders to dispose of later. I may have a just a little to clean up with my rake. It’s worked out great for me so far.

@@FoothillsFirewood they’re great to run. The nice thing is that you don’t have to run them wide open. I have the HD model. I run it a little more than half throttle, lol. If I remember correctly,…it takes me a tank to split about a cord and a quarter of my small bundle wood and about two and a half cords or so of heating wood. The wedges will still make straight cuts through knots,…even if you have to hit it a couple of times. It takes me 12 seconds to quarter up a round that only requires three passes of the wedge. The new Axis will do that same split in half that time or even less. It takes a hydraulic splitter with a four way to be more efficient vs the SS with its single wedge. Even still,…there are only a couple of smaller splitters that will out split it with a four way. And that’s really saying something. The vertical splitters are faster. But, the Axis and 17VS would destroy it when it comes to making smaller bundle sized wood, lol. It’s because their wedge size and tables would allow to split at least three slabs into squares at once, vs splitting one slab at a time. Don’t pass up the opportunity if you ever get a chance to run one.

@@amandadavis9726 I’ve ran the axis, never the 17vs they definitely make some beautiful bundle grade wood. I actually just went to an event in PA and had the pleasure of running a lot of good commercial quality splitters. Where are you located?

@@FoothillsFirewoodI have ran neither one of them,…but yet I have a new Axis that is supposed to be delivered around the first week of next month, lol!! Im one of those guys that will watch videos to study machines and equipment that I’m interested in buying. I watched a ton of Super Split videos before i pulled the trigger. I did the same with all of the vertical splitter videos. I can’t even count how many times I’ve watched a couple of particular videos. The Axis and 17VS are the two that i was interested in the most. The speed of the Axis and the bigger log lift made the difference for me. I’m located in Show Low. It’s up in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. It’s funny to me, that I don’t see more commercial grade splitters around here, considering the amount of wood that gets sold. The market is not overly saturated, which is a good thing. You just would think that you would see more. It’s been all box store units,…not that it’s a bad thing. My log hauler has been in the timber industry 15-20 years, and he had never even heard of a kinetic splitter until I told him about it, 😂. I told my wife that I think I would like to go to Paul Bunyan next year. I told her that it would be fun just to see and experiment with all of the different equipment that is out there.

@@amandadavis9726that’s awesome I’m sure you’re going to love your new splitter! I just told my wife a few days ago I’d like to go to bunyon next year as well. Keep me posted when your log splitter comes in and you get some hours on it.
