Hey Britt. You are absolutely right, I have never meet a better group of people than what we have in the wood hound community. "Keep moving" my friend!
Jason's good people, that's very kind of him to bring you wood and hang out for a bit with ya. All we have is each other in this world. I'm very thankful to have met our woodhound family, super great humans !!!!! Keep on getting it !!!!
Fantastic man, Jason is a great dude. Glad you guys could get together. And yessir this community goes above and beyond for each other and anyone for that matter. Kudos brother 👊
What a great friend to find on UA-cam. I have met a few over the years here in Washington state. As for your son goes. What did on the moisture content. 😆 lol
Hahaha I didn’t even know he was stabbing my tires until I was editing. I saw him stabbing my trailer boards which was fine… then i see him stabbing the tires and I’m like 🤦♂️

Where do you get the tote cages, and how much do you sell a tote of firewood? Im down in GA and will have a dozen or so whiteoaks cut next month. I want to split them to sell next year and am curious
@@tbrown913 I get them from a couple different places but the first place I would tell you to look is mulch companies. They buy the mulch dye in these totes. Both connections I got was from driving through a business park and seeing totes on a loading dock and calling them and asking about it. A stacked and packed tote is a 1/3 of a cord (full 6 ft truck bed) and I sell it for 125-150 depending on species. They excludes cooking wood. I don’t generally sell cooking wood in bulk quantities.
@FoothillsFirewood thanks! I get about 5 totes a year from where I work, but, I need a lot more! We have 4 or 5 full at work from one poplar tree, but it won't be ready until next year
@@ronniecrook6313if you ever have any interest in meeting up and splitting some wood with a bunch of us let me know. Jason (in this video) is trying to put together a North Carolina Woodhound event at his place! In Yadkin county sometime this year!
Hey Britt, what do you think if you make your splits smaller? I’ve just started splitting oak that is completely wet. I can see a difference within a few days of being split, that the moisture is starting to leave. It takes a little more time,…but I think it’s worth every bit.
@@amandadavis9726 I actually split most of my oak smaller for that very reason. In general I’d say I split on the smaller side (all my stuff) a perfect side piece of me is bundle size 2x3 or 2x4. I split maple, cherry poplar and other faster drying (but also burning) species a little larger. The problem I run into is a lot of people that want the oak are looking for Btu burns in a wood stove in the dead of winter so they don’t particularly want bundle size pieces. I’m still not giving them boiler chunks but I try to do a bin of slightly larger stuff for them. Thanks for watching!
@ gotcha. I split all of mine in the 2x2 range as well. My business model is for the recreational firewood burners. The home heating buyers are simply too cheap, and always want a deal 😁. Plus, I have no desire to stack a cord or two of firewood.
@ I can’t tell you the last time I stacked wood. I don’t even offer it. My ads say that I’ll stack for free for disable or senior citizens otherwise you’re on your own lol. I don’t really cater to solely “wood heat” but a lot of people run wood stoves around here just to help out heat pumps, even a few weeks a year so I try to have something a little bigger for them. Even then it’s probably a 3x4 or so. I’m not definitely not giving anything bigger than hand size! Plus I hear solely with wood. 99% of my customers are solo stove campfire type!
What a great guy Jason is! So selfless of him to offer that load! Another budding woodhound partnership right there, too…!!!
