Remember When the Zora Were Enemies?
They currently might just be the most popular race in the Legend of Zelda series, but there was once a time where the Zora were these river monsters that only ever caused Link trouble. The days of our fishy friends being genuine enemies feels long behind us and they probably are, making this the perfect moment to look back on a weird history in the Zelda series.

The Entire History of Mario Enemies in Zelda Games
Переглядів 6 тис.Місяць тому
The Mario and Zelda series have been among Nintendo's biggest franchises since forever now and as such, it's no surprise they have had several cross-overs here and there. Specifically Mario enemies, Bowser's troops, have frequently shown their face in Zelda games, although most of their cameos originate in games that have been out for quite a while. As such, I feel like we could all use a refre...
An In-Depth Look at Enemy Variety in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom
Переглядів 28 тис.Місяць тому
Both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are often slandered for their supposed lack of enemy variety and diversity and while I definitely don't disagree with those statements, I'm also curious... to what extent are the two open world games truly outliers compared to the rest of the Zelda series? That's exactly what I wanna find out, by taking an in-depth look at th...
The DARK Truth About The Yiga Clan!
Переглядів 20 тис.Місяць тому
If you think the Yiga Clan is a goofy bunch with a banana obsession, you are... well, not wrong, but about 50% correct. Yes, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom tend to portray them as something goofy and unserious, but hidden underneath is a dark organization, that is not afraid to go very far to get what they want. Let's take a look under that Sheikah mask and see...
The Best Design of EVERY Legend of Zelda Boss!
Переглядів 12 тис.2 місяці тому
We've tackled the enemies in Zelda, it's now time to look at the bosses! While they are not as prevalent as returning faces as generic enemies, there are still more than enough bosses to make for a very interesting trip down memory lane. From the original Legend of Zelda on NES to the most recent Echoes of Wisdom, every title is represented as we look at every single boss who appeared in more t...
What is the Most Common Location In the Zelda Series?
Переглядів 53 тис.2 місяці тому
Many things about the Legend of Zelda series are reoccurring. The most obvious are of course Link, Zelda and Ganon, but Hyrule also constantly reappears. But just like Link goes for cartoon kid to near-adult hero sometimes, the land of Hyrule is also ever-changing and ever-different. Today, I wanna take a look at the series as a whole and deduce which locations across Hyrule appear in the Zelda...
How Nintendo Can Fix Ganondorf's Biggest Problem
Переглядів 3,7 тис.2 місяці тому
I love Ganondorf, I really do... but we cannot say he isn't flawed. The Legend of Zelda is not a series that is incapable of telling gripping and interesting stories, so why has the feared Demon King never been granted one? How come Ganondorf's back story is usually vague, with little characterization or even motivation? That's something that can so easily be fixed and I'd rather see it happen ...
What if Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom had DLC?
Переглядів 3,1 тис.2 місяці тому
Unlike Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won't be getting DLC anytime soon, Aonuma said that pretty much word for word. But if what that wasn't case? What if Tears of the Kingdom would get its own Expansion Pass? How would it improve? And what would it add to this already quite complete game? That's what I wanna dive into today, as I outline a couple of ideas for a p...
The Most USELESS Things In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom!
Переглядів 6 тис.3 місяці тому
Echoes of Wisdom has so much fun stuff in it for you to experiment and toy with, but we have to honest here: not everything in the game is essential to say the least. Today, I wanna take a look at some features, mechanics and Echoes that feel a little... unnecessary. And unfortunately, even some famous side characters won't be able to escape criticism today! The Legend of Zelda games are amazing as is, but plenty of super interesting content is left on the cutting room floor to never appear. Every single title in the Zelda series has awesome things that never made it into the final game and today, I wanna pick the coolest piece of cut content of every single Legend of Zelda game. I think we have reached the point in the timeline where we can discuss the lore of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, right? Because there are some interesting things in this game that are never outright explained to you, but I'm sure you'll be dying to know. For the role of the Triforce and Prime Energy to the truth behind Null and Ganon, let's dive into some hidden details in Echoes of Wisdom you might...
EVERY Enemy in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Explained!
Переглядів 10 тис.3 місяці тому
Echoes of Wisdom has marked the return of a ton of enemies that I expected to never see again in The Legend of Zelda series, so that has been a pleasant surprise! And to shine some light on that surprising development, I figured it'd be fun to take a look at EVERY single enemy in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and look at their history within the larger Zelda franchise. Every Musical Instrument in The Legend of Zelda Ever
Переглядів 2,3 тис.4 місяці тому
Give Link an Ocarina or a Harp and you'll be rocking all night long... The guy just seems to be naturally blessed to play his instruments and save the world any time he appears, with The Legend of Zelda series having so many instrumental featured in it, I can make an entire video about it. While some are among the most iconic images of the series, Ocarina of Time anyone, there are also a few I ...
Obscure Items In The Legend of Zelda You FORGOT Existed
Переглядів 4,2 тис.4 місяці тому
The Legend of Zelda is ever-changing and that means some conventions are bound to be left behind. And that even includes some items Link absolutely needed to save Zelda, which have now been forgotten by Nintendo and perhaps the fans as well. Whether they'll ever return in future Zelda games like Echoes of Wisdom no one can know, but at least we'll always this video to remember them by! Footage ...
Every Impa in The Legend of Zelda Ever
Переглядів 11 тис.4 місяці тому
Impa is underrated. For how often she has made reappearances, she deserves more love. I mean, she's in nearly as much Legend of Zelda games as Ganondorf! So, I figured I've give her a much-deserved moment in the spotlight to look at her roles in the many Zelda games she's appeared and analyze how they have evolved over the years. From the original Legend of Zelda manual to Tears of the Kingdom,...

Ranking All Legend Of Zelda Art Styles
Eh, idk if you played like me, the Lv2 enemies were GREAT, like really truly awesome if you did a bunch of exploring early and didn’t have enough triangles to summon stronger stuff….i used the HELL out of the lv2 Sword Moblin for quite a while………..but yeah, the Automotons have a pretty rough limitation, needing to be repaired at a specific spot in the game…they can be okay, but yeah, like why ever use one when you have an army of regular echoes you can summon to your hearts content? Well, I suppose since they don’t have a triangle cost, you COULD use them in tandem WITH regular echoes, but still….its a shame they have to be repaired the way they do when broken
As a fellow arachnophobe thank you soooo much for not including tp gohma
I didn't forget any of them 👀 Oracle of Ages was actually my first Zelda game and I've played every main line game except for Adventure of Link so I also remember the Anouki and their rival tribe the Yooks (who you didn't mention funnily enough) from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks and I was very happy when Condé and his brother were referencing the two tribes
My thoughts: 1. I find the WW redeads the scariest, although tbf that may be because someone told me "hookshotting them makes them easy to kill." Spoiler alert: it does not. 2. I find the stalchildren in OoT/MM to be oddly cute. They remind me of the ghouls from WC3, and I always cooed over them like they're weird puppies. 3. My favourite Moldorm is the ALBW one. Looks like a load of hamburgers. I dunno if it's "best" but it always made me laugh. 4. I feel Twilight Princess was trying too hard with the 'realistic/dark' aesthetic. Like, it works on some enemies, but a lot of the time it overshoots and makes them seem weird and not engaging.
Yetis are back so you never know.
Weird how you skipped over so many of the NES Zelda designs, especially since you wanted to highlight how they differ and so many of them have drastic changes from Zelda 1. Like you said Dodongos started as bipedal lizards before turning to geckos, but even before that they were like a triceratops. There's also a few that should've been included as an obvious continuation of the same enemy with a different design, like Iron Knuckle is basically just a Darknut but with a slightly less silly name.
Favorite picks: wind waker. Fite me.
I always had the theory that Hyrule and Mushroom Kingdom, are neighbour territories. Since both Zelda and Mario games have shown there are more places in their world than just their own turf. They could make each one visit the other without problem…
My theory is that since link to the past and the first two Zelda games take place in the fallen hidden timeline the Sea Zora cut all ties. While the River Zora stuck around because they where feral and loved causing trouble.
Combining the different colours of the same enemie feels unfair. Like they are the same mechanically so why differentiate them
damn dude you've got a alot of bad taste
Bro CANNOT be sleeping on minish cap like this
I've never really played a zelda game (yes I know how insane that is) but this video is fascinating to me, the changes in art style and creature design between games is probably the most drastic I've seen in any game series. It's really cool stuff and makes me wish I was a zelda fan.
the isuse that everyone forgets that its a BIG OPEN WORLD and having nearly the same type of enemy (not counting recolors) in a >BIG OPEN WORLD< can make it feel lifeless and even empty and its made worse with the fact that every one that copies this has the SAME problem or even have it worse and it becomes boring facing the same thing again and again without some spice hence why it would've been neat if there was more hostile wildlife or some more free roamers but thats only in a perfect world where open world games that are GIGANTIC dont feel empty and dead
I would like to add that the enemies are all very same-y from a game design standpoint as well. Sure, they all LOOK different, but they're all fought the exact same way: whichever way you find combat to be most effective/comfortable/fun. There are no skulltulas requiring the use of the bow, or stalfos with shields, or wolfos circling in on the kill. All enemies can be beaten the exact same way, which makes them way less interesting as a cast
This was really fun!
I got stuck in Crown Dungeon for a long time on my first playthrough of Oracle of Ages. 😖
River Zora, just a reminder, don't just spit, they spit FIRE like this, PEW PEW!
bro is a hater
BotW ruined Moblins
rename this video to "my" favorite versions plz! i disagree that these are the best overall choises..
Disagree with so much here. Especially the comments on LA and TotK osts.
I like the creepier Gibdo designs. Especially the one from Twilight Princess. The full mummy is a bit boring to me honestly but I've never played Majoras Mask, so maybe the vibe carries it?
The moblins were always pigs. They're supposed to look like Ganon
For bokoblins I prefer the windwaker incarnation
Echos of Wisdom seems to have Arachnoghoma (Twilight Princess) Not sure why they'd just call it Ghoma but meh
