WW Ganondorf is dripped down to the socks though. The robe with the distorted pig/dragon face, the sash with the blue and red symbolising Twinrova, the fact his swords are the equivalent of the "Mom" sailor tattoo. Great stuff
I love WW Ganondorf, but I feel like if you're comparing Ganondorf designs it might be going too far off into its own thing for some. OoT, TP, HW and TotK (and even Demise if you count him) are clearly riffs on the same base concept and can be compared directly, but WW goes a little too far off the reservation to easily enter that conversation. It's the same thing as WW Gohma; rad as hell, kind of a different thing to the rest.
Tp Ganondorf and Totk Ganondorf are a tough call for me. Tp definitely feels more imposing and regal but totk is shmexy lol. I love both for different reasons
Correction with The Hyrule Fantasy Zelda no Densetsu (Zelda 1): The art was made to match the sprites, not the other way around. Said sprites were limited by the colour palettes of the FDS, of which they could pull from four at any given time. That's why so much of the art for the game is so monochromatic. Most enemies pulled from spirites that were either just red or blue.
“Turning him into more of a generic insect” Proceeds to show a Gohma with too many appendages & body segments to be anywhere near close to being an insect.
The Wind Waker version of Chuchus coming back in Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks has nothing to do with Nintendo liking or not liking that design. It's just the art style.
I can never hate the Imprisoned with the tail. It's just so pointlessly extra. Also you didn't cover the Hyrule Warriors versions of any boss except Manhandla. Where's the Hyrule Warriors Ganon? Or Gohma?
Wind Waker Ganondorf will always be my favourite because he looks like he's so built he doesn't need armour. You come up to the king of all evil and he's wearing armour, you think "I just need to get through that armour". You come up to the king of all evil and he's in a fancy robe? You know he's confident that your sword ain't doing anything against him.
That's why my favorite is TOTK. He just looks like a guy that's about to rock your shit with that sword, though he looks the least kingly of all of them.
Good video You forgot to mention that there are 2 ganondorfs in OOT they are similar but slightly different. Also with what you said about TP ganondorf. Just remember that version has been used in other media as well most notably super smash bros
Ganondorf being a Gerudo, he must have their caracteristic nose, and to me it directly eliminate the WW, TP and HW designs (and him looking like a "punk" in OoT makes sense since his tribe has to steal peoples to survive, I mean he's not called the "king of the Gerudo thieves" for nothing). And for Phantom Ganon, Just the detail of the sewn mouth makes it a win to me.
For me, Link's Shadow in Zelda 2 is the best Dark Link. It's difficult to depcit a shadow in 3D, for me, whereas the jet black of Zelda 2 just works. Couldn't work in not-8-bit, though.
Ganondorf is a tough one especially imo. OoT ks probably the weakest, but I like all of the other ones for various reasons. TP looks the most like a king, but WW fit his personality in that game so damn well and probably had the most compelling iteration of him. He was old and patient at that point and felt so beyond the calabilities of Link and Zelda.
Like Volvagia (which appeared in Zelda II before Ocarina of Time), Barinade had a reappearance in Echoes of Wisdom as an optional boss. Jabu-Jabu also returned, although you didn't really fight him in OOT like you do in EOW. Also, I'm surprised you left out King Dodongo and Gohma from Hyrule Warriors, given you considered Manhandla's HW design.
Something tells me you omitted Ghoma from TP purposely. I don’t blame you, I can’t either. I don’t know if that means it is a great design to make me that uncomfortable, but it is what it is. I heavy disagree with the Ganondorf pick. This may be more Smash’s fault than TP, but I only think of Ganondorf as slow as hell and stiff. Not at all imposing. Even taking TP in consideration though….it feels very bare bones. The armor looks super heavy and Ganondorf’s movements don’t tell me he isn’t affected. It tells me he is inhibited personally. I think TotK Ganondorf is the best take, especially when considering his Demon King form with his Gloom clothes having an organic design in the literal sense, where the clothes look like living flesh.
Very interesting, I personally prefer the simple cartoony designs over the realistic ones, so my opinions differed from yours a lot. But I think BOTW and TOTK were really excellent at bridging the gap between the cartoony and the gritty.
Funnily enough, King Dodongo has 2 designs in Hyrule Warriors! If you play the mission in the Water Temple, Wizzro summons one near the end of the mission, and you’re told to beat him quickly while Darunia holds the Dodongo off. But, if you detour and fight the King Dodongo, you’ll see it’s a unique design based on the N64 one.
I agreed with every take until you praised the sprite work of FSA Ganon. Possibly my least favourite incarnation of any character or enemy the whole series :P they couldn’t even get his trident straight and the whole thing is so muddy.
Technically, Volvagia was in Zelda II. They just translated his name diffferently.
Interesting. Thanks for the info

Centipedes.
@
EXACTLY.
Centipedes aren’t insects.
@@armandoguzmannieves5472 I apologize, I forgot they were part of a larger group of animals *_that also includes insects._*
@@CoralCopperHead
That doesn’t fix it?
Moving the goalpost doesn’t achieve anything in a conversation.
No king dodongo, dodongorongo, armogohma?
I was about to say that
The Wind Waker version of Chuchus coming back in Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks has nothing to do with Nintendo liking or not liking that design. It's just the art style.
Yeah but if they hated the design they'd have changed it
I can never hate the Imprisoned with the tail. It's just so pointlessly extra. Also you didn't cover the Hyrule Warriors versions of any boss except Manhandla. Where's the Hyrule Warriors Ganon? Or Gohma?
And although not a fully fleshed product, we see Gohma in the Wii U announcement presentation too
3:00 The Dodongo boss from Seasons is cool, but Dimitri will always be the best dodongo in my heart
Wind Waker Ganondorf will always be my favourite because he looks like he's so built he doesn't need armour.

I think you’re brain linking Ganondorf to his TP style is probably influenced by Smash Bros.
Good video

Nah dude, ocarina of time phantom ganon is way cooler. WW phantom definitely fits it's game, but the original is way more intimidating.
totk phantom ganon is essentially dripping blood that shit goes so hard 🥶🥶

Forgetting TP and TOTK gohmas is a crime considering they are by far the best two designs

6:46 I really need a WW chuchu punching bag.

Nah, TP Gannon is second only to WW Gannon because they are at the good end of the spectrum approaching being Tony Soprano
also not marbled gohma

Cadence of Hyrule also does some interesting things her, wish it had been included
Surprised you didn't mention King Dodongo.
The Hyrule Warriors design is my favorite over the Ocarina of Time one.
What about you?
Yeah, Hyrule Warriors got that one right.
Funnily enough, King Dodongo has 2 designs in Hyrule Warriors! If you play the mission in the Water Temple, Wizzro summons one near the end of the mission, and you’re told to beat him quickly while Darunia holds the Dodongo off. Gohma and (king) dodongo (2 variant of the latter) are also in HW actually
Picking WW Phantom ganon over oot is CRAZY
Volvagia appeared first in Zelda II, though
How am I so stupid to not realize that this channel, Pichupedia and Piantapedia are all the same person lmao 😂
Wait till you find out there are two more 👀
@ImpapediaYT oh nooo more content? The hoooooorror! 😂

You can’t just mention the HW versions once and then ignore the rest, shame shame shame
10:09 I thought both of them were open world games. What?
my first zelda game was on snes an i love twilight princess look. now if only totk ganon an the depths under hyrule castle where more difficult.
ehat happened to minish cap chuchu?
for ganondorf def totk
