Hi, my name is Sarah. I am a wild camping enthusiast seeking the beauty and solitude provided by the Peak District National Park, right on my doorstep. My working life involves intense shift work in our NHS. Extremely rewarding careers come with great sacrifices, inside for long hours under fluorescent lighting in overwhelming environments strengthens the pull to the Peaks. My videos are a collection of memories, a montage of insights into my experiences as I set out on adventures, test my limits and find them. Thank you to those who inspire my camps and encourage new ones, Sarah ❤️
Kinder Scout indulgence ~ The BEST Wild Camp Yet
I couldn’t wait to get up on Kinder after a period of time wild camping more locally. It always feels like an adventure when I set off and this time it felt no different. Join me in this wild camp as I soak up the most perfect conditions up on the Kinder Scout Plateau, Peak District National Park, UK 🇬🇧 in my tent ‘Hillary’ Hilleberg Soulo Red Label. Sunset, shooting stars, night cloud inversions, moon rise mist of all my absolute awe and love for what I saw ❤️✨🌌

Some places call you in for reasons that you don’t realise until you’re home and reminiscing about it. I get to do that when I make a video and enjoy it all again. I needed fresh air and snow, with night shifts shaping the end of my week it was much needed. I love my work but I love time for myself more. Come and join me fr a cuppa and I’ll tell you all about it 😊 See ya on the next one Best wi...

Taking friends to Kinder Scout is something that I always want to do. Not many would stay the night. These friends share the same love for the area so it made my day to have them there. There was plenty of dialogue in this video thanks to some fantastic Kinder weather 😉 ATB Sarah & friends 🌟🌟

Ey up everyone. Well it seems I’ve managed to get people right in the feels with this one. I knew that not editing my emotion out of the video was the right thing to do on this camp. Sometimes when we cry it makes us tired but this camp as a whole left me feeling on top of the world with energy. Just goes to show that you don’t need to climb that mountain to have a good camp, it’s more to do wi...

A camp site I yearn for from home and one that I never thought I’d be lucky enough to see from my own bricks and mortar. Gratitude is a wonderful feeling, even when the stakes are down on life and you feel a little down. Being able to feel gratitude for what you have and what you can access is a gift, like the gift of sight and all of our senses for that matter. This camp felt like a gift. Wrap...

I never thought anything could stop me from camping, what with loosing a tooth then moving house! Turns out it can. But one thing I’ve learnt during this break was how much I’ve missed it, how I value it and most of all how I need it. This is quite simply a camping vlog. Come with me, I can guarantee you ear ache and giggles with some beautiful views of the south eastern edge of the Peak Distri...

Just a woman and her tents 😂! SIMPLE! No frills, little bit if exercise and a chat. Sometimes it’s good to see some tents all set up together isn’t it? How often to we get that chance unless we camp in groups? Had my own little tent exped and made a video to tell a story about how they came to be. Hope you enjoy 😊 get the kettle on ☕️ 🍪 See ya out there soon guys 👋🏻 Best wishes Sarah

Everybody was stood on the top Win Hill in their droves and only me on my tiny summit camp. The special places are the quiet places. A wild camp up high, surrounded by the giants and almost feeling like I was in the eye of the storm, as the clouds rolled in and darkness fell. Safe as houses in my XMid 1p. Lovely little camp Thanks for watching… Best wishes, Sarah

Camping high above the trees of a disused quarry in The Peak District, made me think of a bygone era and how nature always find a way long after humans leave it alone. The scars left in the gritstone edges are softened by trees for acres and acres providing home for wildlife galore, like a U.K. jungle. This camp was in a place that I’ve wanted to stay the night for a long while. It was quite th...

Come and take a closer look at the Xmid 1p Solid. A simple yet innovative design that I’m really pleased to have as part of my wild camp kit. It’s well suited to my needs in the sense that it isn’t too large but feels so spacio...

Is there such thing as the perfect pitch? Now, I’m not talking about a tent as tight as a drum, pitched perfectly to the manufacturers specifications. For me, it’s all in the mind, going out, stepping out of my comfort zone to a new place just like that first camp last year where I achieved more than I ever l thought possible. On this camp I discovered a new trig, camped up high on a gritstone ...

Ey up Campers! Long time no see! It’s been hard staying away from my tents but completely necessary to get better from pain of the tooth extraction. What a drama. I quite literally could not wait for camp and as soon as I had a few days off shift I was out. Meet Diana, whilst Hillary sulks in the corner of my bedroom, what a great tent it is. Really enjoyed my solitude, it was good for my soul ...

Ahhhh wow thank you! Such a kind gift and appreciation of your feedback for me is what makes me want to record future camps ✨🎤
Watching your video is like therapy. Great video wise words.
Hey 👋🏻 ahhh thank you that’s magic ✨ I’m glad that you enjoy listening. I have a podcast about to be published that I think you may enjoy if you enjoyed this long video. I’ll be sure to share the link and a description about what it’s about when it goes live 🙏🏻 see you on the next one ✨⛺️
12kg.,😂. My pack weighed in at 18kg and that was just for a 14km training walk. 😂😂😂. I still have to add 10 day of food.😂😂
I have carried much heavier 20 years ago when I was doing some military training 🤛 these days and 2 teenagers later I’m happy to carry much lighter kit. That military burgen, rifle and helmet were a heavy bugger 😂 rations were nice and light though and seemed to go very far! When I started camping, I carried about 15kg in winter but I’ve learnt how to dial it down to make it more comfortable for my smaller frame, still got a way to go and always learning ✨⛺️
@SoloSarahBX Absolutely fantastic Sarah. I'm prepping for the Congo-Nile trail Rwanda and the Drakensberg Grand Traverse South Africa, so the food should increase my weight to about 20KG. 🤤 The only way I can do these long trails is to work on my buns with squats at the gym. 😂😂 The good thing about hiking in the UK is you don't have to give much thought about wild animals except the occasional sheep.🐑 enjoy. 😊
@ absolutely! Never have to think about that. Stay safe and enjoy those awesome adventures 😍
Sarah thank you thank you for the pure joy for myself and my dear wife watching your adventures. Best wishes Andy and Jo from Sheffield. X
Hiya Andy and Jo! What a joy it is to share my adventures with another couple! I have a few subscribers who watch my videos together which makes my day. My husband isn’t a hiker or camper so I doubt you will ever see him join me but he always shows his support in ways that means he’s always with me no matter how far away I am from the comfort of home. Buying me my Soulo certainly got some happy wife points 🤣 ATB and I’ll see ya on the next one ✨⛺️
Thanks so much for this. Time passed so quick, i didn’t want it to end! So emotive!
Thanks for watching Phil ☺️ yes it does pass by quickly almost as quick as the camo its self. Looking forward to the next time ✨⛺️
Another way to warm your bum cheeks is a good fart 🤣😇
My gosh girl that was lovely..You certainly love talking .
They call me rattle can on here 😂 glad you enjoyed the rattle!
It is a rare talent you have Sarah. I was transfixed and totally unaware of my surroundings for the entire duration of viewing your video.
Thank you for your feedback it’s great when something draws you in and I’m pleased you got to see what I saw through my channel ☺️
You can't do it all... never a truer word spoken. "Don't live life under pressure, live to your means and make as much time for hobbies/family time/holidays as possible" Those were the words of my gran, words that ring in my ears til this day. Another brilliant video and thanks for giving me another go to channel when I get home, the perfect way to wind down ☺ You deserve loads more subs, your content is as good as anything on here. As they say, it's not quantity, it's quality and you definitely give us quality viewing 👍
Thank you so much for your kind feedback Paul. I really wouldn’t care if I still had 100 subs as I feel I have reached out to an audience who appreciate what I do because they either love it themselves, want to do it or just enjoy form afar. It’s not my aim to have thousands of people watching rather just 10 people who I can connect with on a level that’s deeper than that of any click bait title. Some of the best videos I watch have a few hundred subs but they have something that no one else has and thats to be uniquely themselves ☺️✨
Brilliant! You're braver than me, I love snow but can't imagine camping in it, maybe I should give it a try cos I'm probably missing out. Did you say nesh? 😄 If so I thought that was just a Herefordshire saying, perhaps we stole it from Sheffield! 😆 I love handwarmers, been known to have a couple in my back pockets to keep my bum warm too. I use Whitby ones, they run on lighter fluid and get hot enough to warm your bum cheeks from ten yards away 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 funny cos I thought ‘nesh’ was a Yorkshire thing! I’m glad it’s spreading…yes camping in snow is on another level adventure even if it’s in your back garden. I have some electric warmers but they are heavy. I hate the waste from the disposable stuff so maybe they will feature in my next video ☺️ATB, thanks for catching up on some of my content it means. A lot, Sarah
Loved the video. Great place to camp.
Glad you enjoyed it thank you 🙏🏻✨
Ey up Sarah, Enjoyed your latest camp in your favourite part of the world. I empathise with you on the emotional connection with relations who are no longer in this world, they are in a world now that changed from their old life into a new life that exists in a spiritual form that is constantly around us all the time. When I'm out in nature wherever that maybe ,I constantly reaffirm my connections with my Dad and my sister who passed away when she was a young woman in the prime of her life ,it's a great source of comfort when I talk to them,of course I can't hear them but I can see the signs that they are present all around me. Keep on with your vids, you're at one with the natural world and your channel deserves to grow. ATB Michael🥾🏕👍
Thank you so much for sharing that with me. It’s so lovely to hear your thoughts and experiences and how you’ve engaged with my video. ATB, see you on the next one ✨⛺️
That was possibly the most therapeutic wild camping video I've ever watched. Absolutely fabulous, inspiring, relaxing and motivating all at the same time. Loved it. I'm planning on doing the Edale Skyline next month with an overnight camp rather than slog out the 21 miles in one day and was looking for Kinder Scout Wild Camps and came across your channel, to which I've now subscribed. In the video you mentioned the sleeping bag liner giving extra warmth that you wouldn't have expected. But I swear by mine. A lot of Wild campers wouldn't go near them but I have an OEX furnace +8 liner. Coupled with my synthetic Fathom 300 Sleeping bag, it makes a massive difference. Probably not the 8 degrees they claim but certainly around 5 degrees. So my 1 degree comfort bag is now comfortable down to minus 3 or 4. Thanks again for your inspirational video.👍
It’s great to hear that you are planning the sky line. Im planning it too but I want to be a little fitter, loose some body weight and get a lighter back pack so my goals motivate me for shorter hikes with my winter kit. My shoulders were aching after carrying my stuff. Rome wasn’t built in a day so it s a work in progress. Have the best time and I hope the weather is good so you can see far reaching views for your efforts. Thank you for your kindest comment! ATB, Stay safe, respect 🙌🏻
Nice to see you out Sarah so soon after your last camp and what lovely weather, just perfect for Kinder Scout, the sun really showed Kinder up in all its beauty. You did look in your element up there and it looked a lovely spot to camp, as there are so many places up there, just got to find them. I still have a bit of exploring to do up the Derwent Valley but looking at your video makes me want to return to kinder soon ...... see you on your next camp.......Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 hey Pat 👋🏻 thanks for taking time to watch this one as it’s rather like a feature length film 🍿 I was hugely motivated by the glorious weather that day and even though I couldn’t see anything the next morning I still enjoyed hiking along the ancient pathways on the moor through the peat gruffs around the misty rock friends, and through the frozen drifts. It certainly paid to be familiar with that route in the fog. I have meandered up to crow stones but yet have much to explore like yourself up there. It’s stunning isn’t? Remote and quiet just how I like it. Can hear myself think! I’m glad I’ve inspired you to get back up around kinder, now isn’t that something 🥰 ATB Sarah

a luv your waffling on lol
12 hrs of internal chatter 😂 that’s ADHD for ya!
Lovely calming video, I wish I could be so brave and get out on my own. The Salt Path is an incredible story and a film is coning out very soon too x
Really looking forward to the film 🤩 you should challenge your self with a solo camp, there’s nothing g quite like it. You deserve it ✨
Hi Sarah. Your camped at "Rhino Rock"
That name suits it perfectly ☺️
Another brilliant video, I was watching this last night in my tent just outside Hathersage. Looking forward to the next video 👍
Thank you! I always find it so humbling when other campers watch my videos whilst camping! After all they are long evenings. Mine always seem to go as quickly as the video itself and before I know it I’m waking up to greet Mr grouse 🌅
Hi Sarah, thank you for this beautiful vlog. I felt like you had invited us all in to your special, unique experience. So generous of you, as it looks quite an extra task to get to your pitch site, at the same time as planning and filming this wonderful video. I have been following your channel for quite a while now. As an ex-pat Yorkshireman now living in Devon, your lovely accent and down-to-earth approach to life, couple with the wonderful insights you come across on your journeys, such as your conversation with the thousand year old rocks, fills me with love and inspiration, and takes me back to my days of roaming the Dales and Peak district in my youth. Wild camping is something that has been on my bucket list for a while now, and as someone approaching retirement, but still physically fit, I find encouragement and hope in the prospect of getting out onto Dartmoor and experiencing the sunsets and rises and wonderful inversions for myself. Thanks again Sarah, long may you continue. x
What a beautiful comment to read thank you so much. You highlight exactly what my intention is and that’s to invite people along into my experience. Don’t get me wrong I go camping on occasions and don’t press the record button. Yes it is less effort and sometimes I don’t have the energy to speak out-loud to myself but I have found a great deal of comfort and satisfaction from sharing what’s in my mind. I always feel nostalgic when I hike and camp and I have noticed that I refer to my childhood memories in almost every video I make. My inner child is always in there and I reassure and love her continuously, growing up can be rough sometimes so transporting myself back to a younger playful self feels special and time slows down somewhat. I’m glad that may have inspired to in your own quest to wild camp. That is quite simple AWESOME 🤩
Thanks so much for that sarah! I can tell youve enjoyed ya self an that ya needed it,lookin forward to ya next one, take care love. X
I’m really chuffed my gratitude shines through in the video. This camp was a personal challenge but I know my capabilities and I am very happy in my own company therefore it was perfect. Everything aligned and I drank it right up 🫶🏼 see ya on the next one ✨⛺️❄️
I'll admit I used to have my doubts about those spiritual feelings, I thought people were making stuff up or being drama queens. Anyway, i went fishing in Lancashire in September while visiting family and suddenly found myself in deep thought about my dad, who passed last July. I couldn't stop thinking about how he'd taught me to fish, encouraged me to enjoy the outdoors, bought me my first tent (which I still have, a canvas Citizen by Millets 2 man tent) and I just could not concentrate on fishing, it was almost like my dad was there with me, advising me like he did all those years ago. I mentioned it to my mum, she asked where it was that I'd been and looked a bit surprised before telling me my dad and uncle fished there regularly before we moved to where I live now. Yes, my dad had recently passed so he was obviously in my thoughts a lot but that night was different, I actually felt his presence and had an amazing feeling of contentment. If it wasn't spiritual, it was definitely a 6th sense making me aware that I was following in his footsteps.
Sometimes there is no reason for rational thought, just let the feelings come up and absorb it. I’ve learnt to do that more intentionally in recent years with both positive and negative ones. Thank you for sharing with me about your experience being close to your late dad. I appreciate that. I’m sure he will have enjoyed some time with you that day and I hope it made you smile through the grief ✨⛺️ 🎣
@ Thankyou Sarah, it was good to share it with someone who understands 🥲
Cracking video! I felt like escaping winter for half hour hour so i chose this one 🌄🙂 I know what you mean about pre camp anxiety, I talked myself out of going loads of times before i finally did it and still get pre camp nerves after several solo camps. I love the tent, it looks a lot more roomy than my Lanshan 1 so I'll be looking at that one. Thanks Sarah 😊
Hey 👋🏻 thank you for watching a few of my videos. My Durston Xmid 1 person trekking pole tent is an excellent build quality and light weight for all season use. I wanted to lighten the load and this helps massively. It also a pleasure to pitch and extremely versatile. I have seen and heard great things about the Lanshan but never seen one in person so can’t comment on the size comparison but the Xmid is huge. Ample size inside for me. ATB, Sarah
Your channel is my go to chill out watch. At 68 I site camp and enjoy a good hike and start the day with gratitude.like yourself and many others getting into the hills, fells and mountains can give you an emotional hit.and of course I pick up tips and ideas as you talk and show us how and why you pitch and camp.my daughter now has a kiddywhiz😅cheers for your hard work.
What a beautiful comment to read this evening thank you 🙏🏻 to have viewers like yourself watch my experience makes it all the better, invisible hitchhikers someone else said and I think that’s the perfect phrase. Thanks for coming along with me ✨✨ power to the Whizzer!
do you ever meet Patrick Dickson on kinder scout
I haven’t yet but I know we will bump into one another some day. It will be a great day ✨
Lovely peaceful video Sara, you are so blessed x
Thank you! 😊 🙏🏻✨
I love how honest and real your videos are. I love nothing more than escaping the hectic nhs to be out in the hills. Wild camped before but still yet to take the plunge solo. I think I have my new goal for 2025. Enjoying doing what you love.
You must 🙏🏻 have e that first solo and you’ll wonder why you waited so long. Nerves are important feelings that we can’t dismiss but for me they don’t stop me from enjoying experiences that are completely unique to myself and my environment. I feel very lucky that I have the means to do it and let’s face it, shift work can be a lonely life so what better way to spend days off than indulge in nature to reach that equilibrium 💫
your videos so chillaxing
Thank you, maybe because I am always relaxed when camping and it just comes through ✨
Great camp Soulo Sara (see what i did there 🤣) i call that spot Tortoise and Rabbit Rocks because when you are approaching from Grindsbrook side it looks like a Tortoise and a Rabbit from the other with its ears flopped back. Those feelings and emotions that you expierience are very familiar to me too and i think lots of others feel exactly the same way although you feel it lot more when you are alone and more tuned in...i am certain its because we are closer to the ionosphere and when you think about it all the churches have steeples and they are cone shaped for a reason . A round the time when they were built they were the tallest man made structure around and i believe that all the pyramids and ancient structure were capped in gold because its acts as a conductor and created an ancient kind of wifi system that we could tune into . Lots of archeologists believe that . Did you now that there are over 3,000 pryramids and ancient structure around the globe that are positioned in such a way that they make a perfect geometric patern ? You have to ask yourself why that is 🤔Our inate intelligence picks up on these things which we as humans have forgotten how to articulate and it all sounds a bit woo woo to the ignorant and the misseducated and programmed 😉
I always really enjoy reading your comments Olan. Thank you for your insights and information. I am going to call it tortoise 🐢 rabbit 🐇 camp from now on. Don’t get me in the Woolpacks it’s like Noah’s ark round there 🤩 I am always happy to share my emotions on camera it helps me connect with other humans especially the ones who come back time again to watch all my stuff 🫶🏼 ATB Sarah
@@SoloSarahBX Bless ya 😉 its a pleasant change because loads of Tubers pitch the tent then proceed to knock themselves out on whatever medicine of choice they decide to review 🤣😂😂 i dont blame them though because its a better place to do it rather than spending an arm and a leg in a pub with no view . Yeh the Woolpacks, your imagination can go wild in that little wonderland. ATVB and keep them coming👍
Hi Sarah ,just wanted to say how much I love your jolly outlook.Always enjoy your camps .
Thank you so much for watching my videos. I’m glad I can share my positive outlook with you. Camping releases all the good stuff and usually induces some thoughts and feelings that I love to share. Connecting with others also makes me feel really good 😊
wow gorgeous camper

love your videos your so chilled while camping, love to watch many more happy camping

@SoloSarahBX yea it was pretty good :)

@SoloSarahBX oh yh was 45mph winds 😂😂 glad my tent was up to the task haha!
Well Sarah that was superb!!! You looked so chilled. Good on you girl❤
Thank you so much ☺️ I was definitely chilled up there, still thinking about it ❄️✨
Brilliant, as always Sarah. You should get paid by the Peak District Tourist Board.
I know this sounds corny but I get paid in peat and memories with the amount that gets dragged back through the door on my boots 🙏🏻thanks for watching!
I live in Ireland now but every year I come over to the Lake District. The first mountain I climb always makes me cry - its like coming home where I belong. Great video
Amazing 🤩 Ireland has so much to offer 🤩 but coming back home is needed every once in a while ✨ATB, Sarah
SoloSarah, You truely are one of mother nature blessed daughters😊. You seemed to be at one with the enviorment 😎. Also I have a tip for you 🧐 Your hiking poles need to be a little higher, At least elbow height, it will make a difference 👍.ATB😉
@@Johnnygee10 hello and thank you for your lovely comment and tip. Yes I think I was so into my adventure I hadn’t bothered adjusting! It’s usually something I do with haste to ease the climb but I had too much on my mind 😂 I felt like I flew up there and now it’s all a memory. But I do get to enjoy it all again because of this little video. ATB, Sarah ✨🌌⛺️
