My favourite wild camping UA-camr after WildBeare. I love how you just talk to the camera as though we’re all sat with you on the side of the hill. No frills or gimmicks just a nice chilled chat and camp. Love it.
That’s awesome. Claire is wonderful. She inspired me to camp as a fellow solo camper. I will always enjoy camping for the camping and keep my channel true to myself and my beautiful surroundings. I think because I work full time and have a family I use my camping love to reset my mind and enjoy recording it to look back on one day when I won’t be able to get out. I’m talking to a load of mates I’ll never meet and making a diary for myself and my kids. Nothing is better than that for a reason to publish it all ⛺️✨💜
Your most dapper location to date I would say Sarah. As you say, growing up is overrated. I weep for those who, for whatever reason, have no real childhood.I really do. My wife at five years old had to help nurse her terminally ill grandfather.Thenceforth she became an adult . Lovely place to camp Sarah, in southern Spain at the moment so only just looked at your video, all your adverts are in Spanish as well. Hey Mike …I’ve checked it out and on the map it’s National Trust land like much of the moorland on Derwent Edge and Kinder Scout. I thought it all belonged to the sheep farm ☺️

Perfect for a bivvy camp if it’s too obvious pitched right on top ☺️ ps loosing the tent poles feels freeing with the pack weight in summer
How lovely! Many of the subscribers here tell me they sit and watch my videos to relax and that’s pretty special to me, I also watch other campers because they are better than the tele 📺 😁 best wishes, Sarah
Hi Sarah, Well that was very different terrain, good job you’re not scared of heights or sleepwalking. Good idea that you can bag your pitch early but leave her flat until dusk then two poles and a minute later you can be inside. Didn’t Claire once mention leaving a tent flat and putting camo netting over it? Shame you forgot your Kiddiwhizz, bet you don’t do that again any time soon. You sort of touched on the house-move, dare I ask how it is going? Cheers Graham
Hey 👋🏻 yes it’s a great feature if a trekking pole tent that. Something that helped my camp be a successful one on Sunday evening. I watch wildbare fondly, she’s a great inspiration for us women folk and everyone else for that matter ☺️ the house purchase and seeking process is going smoothly and I’m a timely fashion …can’t wait! ATB, Sarah
@@SoloSarahBX Glad to hear the house move is going well, it sure can be stressful. As for Claire she really has gone from strength to strength, her sense of humour is really coming out now. I told her as I did you, I have managed to get perhaps as many as 100 women interested in the great outdoors. You two have done way more in just a few videos.
@@gberish602 fantastic! There’s a few women who have gone wild camping alone and tell me that I have helped them in their journey. That’s pretty humbling when all I do it for is myself! Inspiring others can only be a good thing ☺️
Flipping heck that was a great vid, and thanks for the professionalism when you were talking about what's hanging, what's pulling, and whats flapping or sagging. So much strength to not corps. Sorry im a child of the 70s -80s. So many differences to now. Loving your work. See you soon hun. Si. x.
Wasn’t just…although there was no dampening my spirits ima. Dull Monday morning. I still found the blue sky and went jogging to see my tent on its little hill to take a picture 😁
Yeah, know it was going to happen. Without the issue of slipping corner guy lines, the tent would have been a little less flappy! Although I have a solution so will share on the next camp windy or not! Even in my Soulo and Helm 1 the wind (when it’s bad) shakes the house like it’s taking off 😂
Absolutely brilliant! I can honestly say that when another woman/person tells me this I could burst with happiness for them. I too started camping because others showed me that it was possible and enjoyable for the mind body and soul…well I got my tent and bits and bobs and the rest is history. 💚⛺️💚 you ROCK 👑
great video sarah i love that location the views are brilliant and purfect for the sunsets plus the fact its not to busy like some of the other locations 🥰
It’s so nice to find a spot that isn’t well trodden. The real spirit of wild camps are felt in this places. The places are endless and this hobbie just gets better 😍
@@SoloSarahBX it is I'm off to Wales 3-4th June and taking my oex phox 2 v2 I can't wait I'm there for 3 days so it'll be two hikes n chill the last night I think 😊
Love watching your videos Sarah as a fellow Peak District based camper, I would have been worried about the farmer all night 😂. Had one myself the other week, farmer still driving round on the quad bike at 11.30, swear I was having dreams about them finding me haha!
Ya know something, I wasn’t really that worried in the end and that was probably down to the confidence and knowledge I’ve built over this last 10 months camping solo in all kinds of spots. I had taken precautions but doing a recce for lunch, pitching late, going solo, with a green 1 person tent and away on the furthest peak from the farm, then dropping the poles made me disappear which was pretty cool. If I’d have had a visit from anyone I’d pack up and go but it all turned out well. I didn’t think twice before publication of the video due to its location but I hope that others would treat the hill with the same respect and stealthiness 😁…half of the time any dreams we have out there are just our fears and anxieties manifesting, overthinking when in actual fact it’s all just never gonna happen anyway 😂 ATB Sarah
The amount of times when wild camping on the other side, I see that hill and wonder, what the view is like from there. Never been there, but now I know. The x Mid did well in the wind. Great video as usual and best wishes with the move. I know all about such moves, done it in the U.K. and abroad. Interesting fact, moving house is one of the top 5 (or used to be) stressful things for us as humans in the West (ignoring being in a war zone of course lol).
I’m glad that I could show you the view…I too have always wondered so thought I’d just do it! I went up from the snake originally, earlier that day for a brunch stop on Crook Hill, direct straight line from a very smelly lay-by that had been used by commuters as a toilet 🤢up through the steep woodland. And there they were, the twin peaks. Knew I was going to camp there but it’s taken me months to build confidence as I don’t usually like camping in a prominent spot such as that. I kept a low profile apart from at 6am when I got the running bug and daft head on 😂ATB Mr N 👍🏻
Great video Sarah, as always. Are you considering guying out the ends of the ridge at some point? Gives a good increase in stability. Recovering from my Saturday night camp in the Lakes in my X-Mid 2 Pro, up above Ennerdale in the footsteps of Andy Beavers! Steep walk up to the summit of Crag Fell in warm weather and carrying too much (personal) weight after being filled up with hormones to help treat my prostate cancer (great excuse eh?!). Mind you, fish and chips and a pint in the pub beforehand probably didn’t help! Fantastic views and nice chat with a fellow X-Mid camper (who watches your channel and claims to have beaten you to the magnetic ties idea!), followed by a great sleep and being eaten alive by midges next morning! All in all another great experience.
Bless you! I hope that you are well on the road to recovery ❤️🩹 what a great camp you had there, can’t beat Andy’s videos, he is one of the best and who I followed most on his early camps in his Soulo. I’ve since met Andy in person for a walk and his passion for the outdoors is palpable. As for the magnets I definitely got the tip from another who I can’t remember lol it’s definitely not a new thing 😁 ps I always guy out the peaks (it’s habit from the Soulo having so many guy lines). Might not have been obvious in this video, besides ya can’t see the little buggers 🤣 forever tripping over them! ATB, Sarah
@@SoloSarahBXThanks for your kind wishes Sarah - just the HDR Brachytherapy and five weeks of conventional radiotherapy to go, alongside just under two years of further hormone therapy and I should live to camp another few seasons at least! Have already had the renal tumour they found incidentally during a CT scan zapped with cryoablation, so getting the full works!😅 Under The Christie in Manchester, so couldn’t have a better team on the case. We hear of all the NHS problems, but my treatment has been exemplary throughout. By the way guys, if you’re around 50 or over, get yourself a PSA test - just do it!! I’ve escaped by the skin of my teeth and had hardly any symptoms. Anyway, that’s enough Holby City for now…! Glad you got to meet up with Andy B - just watching him now on Pillar, so could be my next expedition!

Lovely little camp, nicely Sarah I must visit this one now! :D I've had a look at the quarry from the other week....very spooky in the late evening. Had a look on Google maps and saw a circular feature on the side of Crook hill; turns out theres a small stone circle there so another reason to visit on top of the views. I remember seeing the Lancaster bomber go past on the opposite hill some years ago. weird looking at it from above rather than below but an emotional site indeed.
I saw your pictures today Mr Jiggs and was so happy that you’d had a look around and found my last camp spot! A nice easy camp that was and plenty to choose in the quarry in all levels although the upper level is more quiet. You should definitely seek out crook hill, I enjoyed lunch and a stove stop before my camp. Not a bad drive over there. There’s a parking spot (on your quiet Mondays) just before the cattle grid at the foot of the footpath named Crook Hill Farm. Then it’s straight up in about 20 mins from there and it’s freeeeeeeeee! ATB, Sarah
@@SoloSarahBX Ah smashing, thanks for all the inf Sarah. I'll add it to the list of special places to go and check out. My favourite place of all is Hordren Edge, with its stone circle. There's rarely anyone there so it's usually pretty peaceful x

Ey up Sarah, what a lovely surprise this was this evening! So glad you're getting out whilst you can 😊. I think Diana had a cheeky word with the Whizzer and told her she's not stealing the show on this camp 😂. Isn't Diana doing well you'll soon be heading up kinder with her! I'm glad you feel we are all there with you (I wish I was, I bet we'd have a right laugh) I loved the bit when you were over on Crook Hill looking back over at Diana and the child in you came out 😊 it's great for my daughter to see that I'm not the only one and she let out a little giggle when you said running without a sports bra on 😂. I don't run often but was quite surprised with myself recently when I was running with my daughters homework to her school bus 😂. Thank you for sharing this camp 🏕. A quick question - Do you sit with your family and watch your camps back? Look forward to your two big special camps coming up, I wonder where you'll go. Life is hectic Sarah and I think maybe you should treat yourself to your own persnal camp without the camera (I know you enjoy it but, a camp thats just for you and only you!) Having said that I will be looking forward to your next one. Take care see you soon. Sadie xx 😊
Hi Sadie, what a lovely comment to read. I told my husband that you and the family watch my videos together, it’s so heart warming ☺️ we don’t watch my videos no, hubby hears the editing process as he’s working from home and I’m sat there giggling at myself saying the same thing over and over 😂 I have to cut out quite a lot of what I record, some sweary bits get binned off and other stuff that is mostly me just sat there starring into space not talking…yeah it does happen lol 😂 but that video in real time would be about 90 mins long! I think my sweet spot is 30-40 mins long and it just happens like that, no planning. To the woman I havnt met but feels like a mate, until next time, ATB, Sarah
Thanks Sarah! You are definitely my one and only UA-cam mate 😊. I would love to watch your recordings before you edit them I don't care how long they are or what you say. You couldn't post it on here though you would have to send it to me personally 😂 no judgement from me I appreciate everything you have to say. Mr Sadie got a drone for his birthday he has been practicing in the living room before we take it out at the weekend 😅 the kids have told me the battery was getting low on it and it crashed into the lamp 😂 (I can see the marks on the stand but, he's still not fessed up). Look forward to your next adventure whatever that may be, take care see ya on the next one. Sadie x
Hi Sarah, just thought I would let you know that we are going to put some photos, short videos (not edited) on insta for you. All being well that is our plan for this evening 😅. It will be nice to look back at our adventures up there! I wonder if you will be able to guess where we are 🤔. Have a good night shift tonight, speak soon 😊 SX.
That's the thing bout summit camps even the lower 1s they can get a little exposed to the wind.ive never bothered with the Easton 9inch mainly because the place's I normally camp it's often rockey so I use the ground hogs.but I also think have the 1 corner gettthe wind on the mid is the best.i have noticed in a few vids that the line locks do slip not sure if that's the cord or the locks itself.
Maybe a mixture of both? It was annoying. If the corners aren’t taught the tent flaps so I’ll be double pegging the corners that face into any wind in future. It’s still Less stake out points and weight than the Soulo so just a few minor adjustments and bit more practice on my part 😊
I knew that was bamford edge in the background.. I went there as a kid.. I think it's the first place I went in the peak district. I was in the scouts so we stayed at a camp site.. don't know where it was. Have kinda looked for it since adulthood, but to no avail... all my coats have gloves stashed in the pockets ( I buy the gloves in summer, from charity shops) I olso take gloves with me . I never get court short for gloves... I generally have porridge for breakfast ( don't have any at the moment) but being a scotsman, I have salt in my porridge.. I therefore make my own mix. It is so cheap. A 25kg bag of porridge oats cost £40. It lasts yrs. The most expensive thing is the nido , yet it costs about 50p to make the mix and I don't use those disposable pots . ... I am definitely 100% getting an ex-mid now.. got a few things to get first but it's on my list... thanks for all the info and support.. Take care out there.
Excellent 👌🏻 I could easily eat a savoury porridge but prefer the sweet. I must think more carefully about the disposable items I use when I’m camping as that’s important to me too. I had minimal rubbish this time though so I was happier ☺️ enjoy the new purchase!
Hey Sue 👋🏻 I don’t put the bag sleeve over my mat as I like to move about, find that if I secure it to the mat it’s a little too restrictive. It’s very wide at the top end so I’m sure it would fit your mat if it’s a single one ☺️
I’ve no idea what the wind speeds were but the tent was flapping all over the place. I have the exact same one but haven’t had it out yet. I may sell it and stick with the helm 1 🤔
Isn’t it crazy? I do find using my phone very easy but the battery life is getting a. Bit rubbish as it’s getting bit battered and old! I’ll probably upgrade soon anyway ☺️
Hi Sarah You lost the plot a bit on this one lass, you forgot your kiddie wiz, you forgot your gloves and at 7:05 you "filled your air with lungs"🤭, had you been on the sauce before you got there ?🍺🍺🍺 You got there ok and that's all that matters, as for stealthy summit camping it's not that easy in summer is it, unless you set off really late or you don't mind hanging around for a few hours waiting for the footfall to drop off and the sun to go down so you can blend into the darkness, I see you keep getting lucky with the weather just lately and fair play t ya, a bit of sunshine makes a lot of difference between a nice relaxing camp compared to sitting there with your fingers crossed and counting the hours in bad weather, which is when you definitely need your Whizzer.😄 Keep safe lass, all the best, Micky B
Paaaa haaaaa! Yeah filled my air with lungs…I like saying things the other way round just to make my self laugh and confuse people. Wasn’t sure if UA-cam was ready for that but kept it in never the less. I don’t drink! I make my own calm and happiness after looking around me and appreciating all that I have. I did however not drink as many hot drinks compared to usual as not to need the outdoors without the whizzer! Fun time. See ya on the next 👋🏻 thanks for watching

How lovely! Many of the subscribers here tell me they sit and watch my videos to relax and that’s pretty special to me, I also watch other campers because they are better than the tele 📺 😁 best wishes, Sarah
I have salute Lee love your videos! The scenery and chats Perfect. Thank you for what you’re doing.
Most welcome 🙏🏻
Fabulous video Sarah,really enjoyed.great location.Proper chilled out viewing.Nice one 👏best wishes
Most welcome, thanks for watching ☺️
Hi Sarah,
Well that was very different terrain, good job you’re not scared of heights or sleepwalking.
Cheers
Graham
Si. x.
Ha ha!! Yep I explain it all! Interpret how you will 😆
Thanks for the gret video. Amazing change in the weather from high summer on Sunday back to mid winter on Monday morning.
Wasn’t just…although there was no dampening my spirits ima. Dull Monday morning. I still found the blue sky and went jogging to see my tent on its little hill to take a picture 😁
My aunty was in the Woodcraft folk , who had a cottage up there. Spectacular views but what a climb. Superb video ! Thanks.
Just a baby climb compared to some giants but the effort was worth it ☺️
Great again. That wind changed the camp fast 😊
Yeah, know it was going to happen. Without the issue of slipping corner guy lines, the tent would have been a little less flappy! Although I have a solution so will share on the next camp windy or not! Even in my Soulo and Helm 1 the wind (when it’s bad) shakes the house like it’s taking off 😂
@SoloSarahBX it looks like a very strong tent for its weight 4 seasons .trouble is how many tents should be enough
Great video, thanks ,I camped on Saturday up high on kinder near the downfall thanks for giving us women the confidence to go solo 👍 x

Thanks for sharing your experience with us 😊
Thank you so much for
Watching ☺️⛺️
Great video. Thanks Sarah 👍
☺️👍🏻
@@missogyny4921 thank you so much for sharing your story, you’ve been through a hellish journey and are an inspiration. Thank you for thinking of others during this time and encouraging them to pay attention to themselves. You are a star and you will camp on for many years in the footsteps of Andy, one of our camping kings 👑 Mr Patrick Dickinson himself has had a rough ride in recent years with thyroid cancer and look at home now ❤️🩹 what a bloke ❤️🩹
@@SoloSarahBXThanks again Sarah - at only 69 years young (and 18 inside!) I’m not done yet, just getting going in fact! Patrick is certainly an inspiration to us all, that’s for sure. ❤

Sadie x
@@PaulandSadie 😂😂😂 that’s class! The secret drone crashed 😝 r u on Instagram?
It’s still
Less stake out points and weight than the Soulo so just a few minor adjustments and bit more practice on my part 😊
I'm looking at that bag but my mat is a tenor wide so the sleeve won't go over it...do you think that would be a problem?
Hey Sue 👋🏻 I don’t put the bag sleeve over my mat as I like to move about, find that if I secure it to the mat it’s a little too restrictive. It’s very wide at the top end so I’m sure it would fit your mat if it’s a single one ☺️
@@SoloSarahBX that's perfect thank you! I'm a real wriggler 🙈🤣
I’ve no idea what the wind speeds were but the tent was flapping all over the place. I have the exact same one but haven’t had it out yet. I may sell it and stick with the helm 1 🤔
The Helm is a great tent ⛺️
Proof you don’t need to waste £250 on an action cam. Excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Isn’t it crazy? I do find using my phone very easy but the battery life is getting a. Bit rubbish as it’s getting bit battered and old! I’ll probably upgrade soon anyway ☺️
Hi Sarah
You lost the plot a bit on this one lass, you forgot your kiddie wiz, you forgot your gloves and at 7:05
you "filled your air with lungs"🤭, had you been on the sauce before you got there ?🍺🍺🍺
You got there ok and that's all that matters, as for stealthy summit camping it's not that easy in summer is it, unless you set off really late or you don't mind hanging around for a few hours waiting for the footfall to drop off and the sun to go down so you can blend into the darkness, I see you keep getting lucky with the weather just lately and fair play t ya, a bit of sunshine makes a lot of difference between a nice relaxing camp compared to sitting there with your fingers crossed and counting the hours in bad weather, which is when you definitely need your Whizzer.😄
Keep safe lass, all the best, Micky B
Paaaa haaaaa! Yeah filled my air with lungs…I like saying things the other way round just to make my self laugh and confuse people. Wasn’t sure if UA-cam was ready for that but kept it in never the less. I don’t drink! I make my own calm and happiness after looking around me and appreciating all that I have. I did however not drink as many hot drinks compared to usual as not to need the outdoors without the whizzer! Fun time.
See ya on the next 👋🏻 thanks for watching
