Full time wife and mother and a regular wild camper, you're an inspiration Sarah. You're also gorgeous and delightful and it's a real pleasure to share some of your adventures with you. 😄😄👍👍
Thank you 🙏🏻 just in from night shift as we speak, released a new vid from yesterdays camp then back on nights later. I’m looking forward to my annual leave already!
You are brilliant sarah! First time watching, directed by patrick. I did night shift for 11 years. Thats 11 years to long! Don't do it so long sarah, thats my advice x
Thank you for your wise words. There are ways that I can stop working nights in the future. I will be looking at this, many midwives migrate to better patterns of working as they progress through their career, I guess I’m taking my turn 😊 thank you for stopping bye ATB, Sarah
Patrick Dickinson sent me to your channel. Escaping the noise of daily life - and having space on your own to think. I need to get out more. Just subscribed.
Hiya 👋🏻 it’s great to have you here thank you. I escape just like Pat does. It’s very important to help recharge me as I have a very people centred career and as much as that makes life rich it’s exhausting. Time alone is what I crave ⛺️✨
Brill video Sarah, great to see a lady out on her own, makes me feel a bit of wimp as still haven't yet. The great Patrick Dickinson sent me to your channel ❤
Oh isn’t he wonderful? I started watching his camps years ago and over that time I’ve built confidence to follow in his footsteps, quite literally. As I am from the same side of Sheffield I love the same familiar parts of the Peak District that he visits. Thank you for stoping by, when I read his words in the log book I cried…check out my blubbering self on my ‘Pat’s Place’ video. Quite emotional that day, can always count on us females to add some softness to the wilderness ⛺️✨⛺️
@SoloSarahBX he is a legend, such a warm man who I've watched lots. Inspirational. I've now watched the video you recommended and "The night the snow fell". Love it, keep up the great work and I am a new subscriber 😍
Well done, nice video and greetings from North Yorkshire, love to see Wynants and the Hope Valley, used to work for a company who's head office is in Castleton, many a happy memory of trips down there :)
Hiya! I hope you enjoy them, I’m only just settling into UA-cam, it takes time. I really love my hikes and camps, sharing them feels extra special ✨⛺️✨BW, Sarah
Hello Sarah, enjoyed the video. The fear of being alone in the mountains does fade to some extent, it all depends on where you live. After being in the mountains as a guide and bushcraft instructor for 50 + years, I now have no fear of being alone. It's the first 40 years that are the worst 🤣Carry on with what you are doing, you will be the stronger and more confident in life. We all need to get out into the wild for our mental wellbeing and general health. The more that you, do the more the fears will abate. ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺
Love it, the first 40 years are the worst. My instructor (ex SAS) said if you ever completely stop being scared 😱 it's time to pack it in before familiarity bites you 😂.
What a great comment! Thanks for the 40+++ years wisdom 😊 where I live isn’t a mountainous region so I seek the highest part of the Peak District to survey my kingdom ⛰️ I go to the smallest understated hills around where I live and still feel like I’m 2000 feet up, as beautiful as the mountains are, I still make The most of the low lands and just being outside is a gift 🎁 BW, Sarah
As you descend, and you ask us, "look who I see, it's Bella!" That feeling of relief that your car is still there, in one piece, patiently, like a faithful old labrador, awaiting your return... Great video And that whole bit about the inner voice, that sounds like great advice, turning that negative into positive. I guess that's part of the appeal of solo adventures like these, they give us time to take the messy jigsaw of our lives apart, and rebuild it, with a better picture than before. Keep safe, George
Oh the relief is always there when I see her 😂 she really does deserve more respect than a lay-by but then again, she is just a car! Obviously driving gives me more reach to get to where I want to be and it would be a Loooooooong hike home. I like that, the messy jigsaw 🧩. You get it, that’s perfect 👌🏻 thank you, Sarah
What a cracking video, very enjoyable, have just come across your channel and have subbed, such a lovely bubbly attitude you have, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Hey 👋🏻 thank you for taking the time to comment after watching this trip out. The outdoors has that effect on my mental health and is most definitely a reliable recharging source for me ✨ ATB for 2024, Sarah
A Great video Sarah 😊 Well done 👏 I know what you mean about that voice calling you I love your positive attitude you are so inspiring Thank you and well done 👏 ❤
Night Pee resources are the way to go in winter. I'm winter camping in Sweden, and I'm very happy I don't need to leave my tent! Nice to see you out and enjoying yourself.
Like a true south Yorkshire lass, well done and I do say and speaking to the camera and like you would talk to any other south Yorkshire person, love it and keep the videos coming, out on the moors ,no better medication for your wellbeing.
Hey 👋🏻 I completely agree. The moors are amazing places, vast and scary at times but beautiful and interesting. I enjoy simply being myself when I press record. Something I havnt always been comfortable with so it’s kinda like a celebration of my self belief success 😊ATB, Sarah
Another great production. Good to see thoughts and fears and all that. I guess like a few other comments after time the wariness of bring out alone fades. I think my first wild camp alone I was probably 16. I think the scariest was on the Pennine Way just down the path from Stoodley Pike. It wasn’t the weather or people but sheep were munching grass outside the tent most of the night. That was ‘91. I still haven’t finished it 🤣. 3 days left to go!
Looking forward also to watching your videos about to sit down for a late lunch and enjoy Sarah on the telly. Thank you Sarah we love you here in Northern California. 🙏💙🇺🇸
A lovely festive camp with those lights. I miss my Hilleberg Soulo as they are such good tents in the bad conditions. I’m liking that you’re also a speedster user too. I find them therapeutic as we don’t need to be in a hurry when we go away to relax. Great footage. Atb Mark.
Hiya Mark, nit sure how I missed replying to your comment apart from busy out camping on my latest camp 🤩 I really do love the spirit burners, they are very nostalgic, warm, provide light and comfort on the cold nights alone in my camp. I’m glad you are a fan too. I’m definitely wanting to add to my collection in the first of a larger windshield/pot stand for my frying pan as I am at present using the fire maple put stand which has its limitations! Thank you for watching. BW, Sarah
Absolutely enjoyed watching your hiking adventure, the thoughts you share and the incredible scenery. Having family and friends support your journey is important. Truly, your words echos the life we live. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us 🤗🤠🌲🍃
Thank you for your great video. Inner voice, I have one of those, speaks to me when I go to the local lakes Solo. But learning to be a friend like you. I did laugh at your Julie Andrews!! Lol xx
We spend a lot of time in our own head so let’s make it a nice place to be ❤ thanks for sharing, I knew that people such as you would understand this. My video was slightly longer than I’d liked but just went with it! As you can imagine there’s a lot more footage that i didn’t include 😂Best wishes, Sarah
You are quite right. It’s quite freeing trusting my kit. My experience is my boundary, I am always careful and sensible when out. Having the right kit fills me With confidence and tests my limits 😊BW, Sarah
Nar then..enjoyed that a familiar route ive done err..several times lol..its a fair slog up fairbrook aint it but an enjoyable one i always enjoy that route up..the drop off that far end of black ashop moor is a steep un too..don't get me started on cashew nuts my favourite 😉 Was interesting to listen to the part about youre inner voice..what ever or who ever they are ive learnt to listen & trust and wether that is just me ive achieved some incredible things in my life.. Anyways enjoyed that a nice familisr spot too with great views across to seal edge & down the snake valley.. Take care..stay safe.. Andy..
Thanks Andy! I’ve watched many a video with yourself and others stopping by at that spot. It’s got to be a firm favourite for me. It was quite spooky up on top before dark, very low visibility and still. Can easily loose my nerve until that voice comes back to reassure me that all will come good. I ended up settling in nicely and probably felt the most comfortable yet when out on a camp as I think you could tell from my chirpy self in this! I will always achieve incredible things by pushing myself slowly but surely and enjoy the process! Thank you for your ongoing inspiration and your videos. The first Soulo I ever drooled over 😂 your a bad un’ BW, Sarah
Brilliant video Sarah, as ever. I love your attitude, and totally understand about 'inside voices' - mine has kept me from hiking/camping for a while now. But your positivity, common sense and sheer effort have helped to remind me of just how much I miss it, and how that sense of achievement can change your life. Off out asap. Thank you. ❤
Fantastic comment to read thank you! I hope you are out again soon, I definitely will be, I have the itch to get out now for my first camp of 2024. Life makes that more difficult sometimes 😊ATB, Sarah
Good video Sarah, its hard fitting in everything in life some times, but its something we all need to do. And there's always room for another tent!! Never say never, I said that maybe three or four times 😂 TFS
Never say never to more hear 😅 thanks David, my reply to your comment is better late than never! Love seeing your adventures on Insta and the FB group ⛺️✨⛺️
... New to the channel ,, watched a couple video's so far ....Love the positive energy .... great place for a self talk .. So good to take a break away from your daily life and just be .. on top of a mountain is as good as it gets ... Stay Safe ...
Welcome and thank you for stopping by my extremely young channel. You’ll get to see me test myself through winter on as many camps as I can fit in in between working full time and well, life! Catch ya in the next one ✨⛺️✨Sarah
A lovely wild camp. I love your adapted pot stand for the alcohol stove! Cheers ( Oh, the rain and cold made me think to mention that you might like some Nitril gloves to go over your liners and keep them dry. I bought mine in extra large, but you may be able to get them free if you work in medical.)
Thank you for watching 😊 yes! The pig stand worked a treat, was really pleased with that so I’ll be using it again for sure. I think Santa might have realised how good I’ve been this year 🧤 …will report back if it’s coal 😂
Absolutely loved the video start to end. I am hiking, camping enthusiast but far from Peak/Lake District. I do my best in south east England, since I think it’s a therapy in many ways: mentally, physically. You have a new subscriber. Best wishes ahead!
Nice one Sarah. What a fantastic little spot👌🎄loved the lights. Really interesting you talking about the inner voice. I Struggle a lot with that myself. Atb Graham
Hey 👋🏻 😊I really wanted to cover this (inside voice) and what better time to do it on a winter camp when there’s not much else to do in the dark 😂 there was. A lot more footage than I chose to put in this video but I’m not even going to apologise for the length! More to talk about next time I guess. Listen to what your inside voice says to you next time your solo and I hope it’s good to you ✨BW, Sarah
Another brilliant video, sarah. You have a really calming voice, and you look so cosy in your tent. I'm hoping to go camping up Ben Lomond or Glen Etive if I can convince one of my kids to look after my dog, 😊l
'Are you crazy, going up Fairbrook Naze after a night shift!' I hope you told your inner box, to settle down and mind its own business. So glad you did not listen to it, cause if you had, we would not have experienced yet another enjoyable adventure! Up early today, picking my wife up from Manchester airport, going over Woodhead route! She has been a month away from me, and missing her like mad. Once she settles in, no doubt she will be catching up with your videos. God bless and keep em videos coming!
Ohhhh that’s amazing! I hope she’s back safe and you are once again enjoying each others company 😊 thanks for watching Mr N. I am truly humbled by my inner voice, its encouragement and for kindly cracking the whip all the way up kinder to eat curry 😂BW, Sarah
Thanks for a great video. I found your comment about sleep interesting. I sleep really well in a tent and often I sleep better than at home. I think it’s the peaceful feeling when you’re out. Do you take your children out camping? I’ve taken my 16 year old out a couple of times. I should do it more. I have a 3 year old now and she is going to join me when she’s old enough. Thanks for the video 😊
I have a mat. The stove I was using in this video has its own compact fold out mat, my sit pad was helping to even out the ground I’d got to cook on, I used the soldering mat in some Of my other videos with my Trangia burner 😊 thank you for your advice, BW, Sarah
If anyone ever asks me what being drunk on life looks like, I'll point them at this video. The chatterbox was on overdrive 😄From the pics I saw earlier, I thought you'd gone full Hengist and taken a tin of curry up there, I must try cashews in a chicken curry soon. I must agree that spot is very special, spoiled only by the sound of motorbikes screaming up the Snake road, and the occasional airliner. I hope I can get at least 1 camp in over the holidays, the car repair bill I've been informed of today means that christmas is officially cancelled here. Tiny Tim won't be getting a new pair of walking sticks anytime soon, and there's no way I can afford those B2 winter boots I've been gassing over. Keep on producing these Sarah, proper cheered me up today. ATB.
Hey Andy. I knew you’d appreciate the place, the food and maybe a bit of the chat 😂 I think mostly your appreciation for my positive outlook is what I loved reading… ‘drunk on life’ that’s awesome cos that’s exactly how I felt. I hope that you manage to get well soon and camp it does wonders for the soul doesn’t it? ATB, Sarah
I enjoyed this video. You have a great energy about you! Somewhat different to many of the other camping channels I watch. The music in the early part of the video as you hiked made such a beautiful place become even more tranquil. I have no fear of where i camp be it wild camping or stealth camping, however i'm more worried how people would be coming across me in strange places 😂
Brilliant video as always Sarah, strangely I was watching another youtuber yesterday and he did a 3 day hike/camp along the peaks and one camp was fairbrook and as I was watching I thinking I bet Sarah has been there, then low and behold very next day here you are !! Disappointed you never wore a santa 🤶 🧑🎄 hat though !! Oh the guy I was watching and just subbed is called, hiking for health, well worth a watch if you haven't already seen him, he's also based in the Peak District and has some great vids 👍
Gav from Hiking for health has become a great ‘virtual’ friend and I really enjoy his channel and the motives behind his hikes and camps. What a great community we have eh? 😊hope you are well Mick, sending positive health and strength your way ✨ warm wishes, Sarah
Some wildcampers suffer cabin fever: they hate long dark nights in the tent. Some cannot be alone with their own thoughts and seek to crowd them out with music and other diversions. But others among us relish this time,to explore our vast inner universe.I access it via meditation, maybe the use of drugs is another possible vehicle,I don't know.Your inner voice is part of that fascinating and unfathomable universe. Apropos prey birds: a couple of years back there was a lammergeier - a kind of vulture - up on the howden moors. Thanks,Sarah, for your consistently wonderful content. Kind regards,Micheal ( is it ea or ae? I can never remember ) Harlyn.
Thank you for a beautiful comment and of course for watching and your support. I enjoy those moments with myself with no witness to just be silent and there she is…a woman of great contrast happy in her own skin 😊BW, Sarah
You’re slowly turning into Hengist, same stove, cooking curry with Cashews nuts and saying That-a-direction. Next you’ll be saying How do all, and I’ll switch to’t other camera? 😂 great video. Did my first solo at the Naze must go back there soon.
@@SoloSarahBX OK cheers. I still have my following spade. The last time I used it was on the NW500 at the time when councils had left plastic trowels in lay-bys.
Excellent! He’s my biggest inspiration. What a great man. I just so happened to have my phone in my hand when his name popped up on the Tube notifications. I was glued 😂 and then he told you about how much I talk, broke my microphone, please have no fear Amazon Prime delivery tomorrow 🙏🏻😂ATB, Thanks for stopping by, Sarah
👋🏻 hey, thank you for watching 😊 it’s the Boya Mic compatible with my iPhone it’s flippin brilliant and hit wet through that day. Sound quality is amazing and so light weight, plug and go. I’m making a kit list to add to the description 😊
Hi Sarah, I loved your talk in this one, thoughtful and inspiring. I guess you might work in a hospital? But you would be suitable to work as a psychologist, it is reassuring to listen to you. Thank you for sharing. 🤗 Roffe
Hi Sarah Now that's what I call an after work stroll. Amusingly I only just put my bag of cashews away, I'm quite good at rashioning myself. Not seen that pot stand arrangement before. I've seen another wild camper who buys 2 part curries and heats them in 2 food zip lock bags in boiling water. I'm sure you really deserved a midnight munch, did hubby tell you off 😉. I picked up on the tabasco bottle reference. Janice went back to work at 9 months, we used to drop Matthew off 😪 at nursery, blew our minds until one day we peeked back and saw within minutes he was happy and laughing. Yep, Hillary rules best to have the best. I don't think you ever stop talking out loud, looney to some human to others. Thanks for opening up, had you considered your inner voice might be a sort of guardian? Yep, just you do you. Have you watched Claire's video tonight, see what she had to confront in Wales. See ya Buzz and Bella. Cheers Graham
Hey Graham, thanks for watching and yes! My guardian. I consider myself to have numerous guardians when I’m out from rainbows to robins and those encouraging inner voice mates that egg me on to achieve. When k was climbing up the hardest part of the clough and seeking water to filter, the light was fading fast and visibility was crap. The guardians came to lead my way and I was safe before I knew it after my initial doubt. I never feel truly alone anymore. Thanks for commenting on the salient points of my video. I can’t half cram a lot in 😂best wishes! See you next time, Sarah
@@gberish602 and the day I start sending meaningless short replies will be the day I m not doing this for the right reasons. Never forget where you came from, started from and who inspired and encouraged you 😊⛺️✨⛺️
I hope this doesn't come across as too creepy, but you've become a bit of an inner voice for me, Sarah. Always positive. Always encouraging. Always capable. I set myself a goal and then picture you looking like Buzz Lightyear, and it gives me this sense of excitement and confidence. And then I go out and achieve it. Fairy lights seem a bit cocky for me at this stage but I'll get there soon! PS: In reference to you saying that you carve "goddesses", and that they are" almost exactly" like those stone age Venus figurines with the big boobs and belly, may I ask, do the names 'Ayla' and 'Creb' mean anything to you? I guess you'll either know what I'm talking about or you won't have a clue! I'll explain if you don't. Either way, they're a great symbol of the spirit of a midwife.
I am really happy to read that I can inspire/ influence you to remain positive Neil. It’s not creepy, it’s extremely humbling and I thank you for sharing that. My goddess’ have names, mine that I keep on my alter is called Selene as she is the goddess of the moon 🌙 which you may notice is of great comfort to me when I am Out camping on a dark clear night. I’m not taking her in a camp though as she is too heavy 😂see ya on the next one, ATB Sarah

Fantastic comment to read thank you! I hope you are out again soon, I definitely will be, I have the itch to get out now for my first camp of 2024. Life makes that more difficult sometimes 😊ATB, Sarah
Hey Sarah what an amazing camp, listening to your camping story is so inspiring ❤❤
Hi Claire, thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment, it’s very much appreciated. ATB, See you on the next one 🤩BW, Sarah
Love your happy videos 🌅🇦🇺👍
So happy to read this 😍
A lovely wild camp.

Bless you 👍
Another brilliant video, sarah. You have a really calming voice, and you look so cosy in your tent. I'm hoping to go camping up Ben Lomond or Glen Etive if I can convince one of my kids to look after my dog, 😊l
Now wouldn’t that be magic 😊 I hope that you manage a camp out to those places soon, thanks for watching BW, Sarah
Fabulous vlog Sarah , was loving the porridge and mulled wine ! 😂 looking forward to your next adventure and stay safe 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it, a very interesting combination that I WILL be trying again 😂⛺️✨
Damn Cashews!! my weakness too!
great video Sarah, you are a very brave woman to go on such journeys.👍🤝
Thank you ☺️ I find the adventures extremely therapeutic and rewarding. I’m looking forward to getting out this week for a good hike 🥾
Pat Dickinson returns, Sarah!
I imagine your family love to watch mums wild exploits😊. Hope you get some decent gear for christmas.. ooh giddy😊😊
Well done. I loved your video, loved the chest pocket on your rucksack would love to know where it can be found.
Hey thank you! 😊the small pouch came with a 20 litre back pack from PROVIZ. It’s a reflective running gear company. Great quality products 🙌🏻
😊thank you, just watching your latest video awesome
Thanks for a great video. I found your comment about sleep interesting. I sleep really well in a tent and often I sleep better than at home. I think it’s the peaceful feeling when you’re out. Do you take your children out camping? I’ve taken my 16 year old out a couple of times. I should do it more. I have a 3 year old now and she is going to join me when she’s old enough. Thanks for the video 😊
Great vid really enjoyed it 👍
Glad you enjoyed it ☺️ that’s awesome, thank you for stopping by 🤩 BW, Sarah
Great video Sarah get a plumbers soldering mat to rest your stove on bit safer.
I have a mat. The stove I was using in this video has its own compact fold out mat, my sit pad was helping to even out the ground I’d got to cook on, I used the soldering mat in some
Of my other videos with my Trangia burner 😊 thank you for your advice, BW, Sarah
well done....really good
😊 thank you and much appreciated, BW, Sarah
Twinkle twinkle sarah star ⭐️
They were twinkling that night, so bright, I had a right nice time ☺️
If anyone ever asks me what being drunk on life looks like, I'll point them at this video.
ATB, Sarah
Great video thanks, don't forget the McEwan's 7.3 next time,to go with the curry 😂😂
Honest Hengist and SoloSarah Colab is coming 😂 just so I can sit next to him and say that eating curry with nuts in 😂
I enjoyed this video.
😊 nice vid
Great video to end my night with Sarah 😀
You’re slowly turning into Hengist, same stove, cooking curry with Cashews nuts and saying That-a-direction. Next you’ll be saying How do all, and I’ll switch to’t other camera? 😂 great video. Did my first solo at the Naze must go back there soon.
Honest, every time I watch his videos these days I am
Finishing his sentences 😂 summat not reyt about that but summat reyt spesh anorl 😂

That could be a kestrel. Beautiful bird ❤
SPOT ON! Ive researched that magnificent pray bird and it was a Kestrel, thank you 😊BW, Sarah
Great video 🙂👍
I remember being expected to carry toilet paper out. Where does all the poop go these days. Is it also supposed to be carried out.
I carry toilet paper out but I bury poop under ground on the odd occasion I need to go! Special camping spade 🙂
@@SoloSarahBX OK cheers. I still have my following spade. The last time I used it was on the NW500 at the time when councils had left plastic trowels in lay-bys.
Nothing like a bit of Glühwein to keep the chill off 🍷
Very moorish 🍷😍

What’s happening? 😊 super crazy, who’d av think it eh?
Wild Glamp Mester Patrick Dickinson recommended your channel.
Great video Sarah. Quick question... What microphone do you use?
👋🏻 hey, thank you for watching 😊 it’s the Boya Mic compatible with my iPhone it’s flippin brilliant and hit wet through that day. Sound quality is amazing and so light weight, plug and go. I’m making a kit list to add to the description 😊
Thanks very much 😊
Hi Sarah, I loved your talk in this one, thoughtful and inspiring. I guess you might work in a hospital?
But you would be suitable to work as a psychologist, it is reassuring to listen to you.
Thank you for sharing. 🤗
Roffe
I think I do a lot of that in my job as a midwife ☺️
It's currently 4.30am and I'm in a tent in the lakes. Raining with windy gust watching your video. Now there's a sensory effect to your filming. 😅
Flippin, brilliant! I hope you are looking out the tent to a nice sunrise this morning. Bit of clear sky here in the Peak District 🤩⛺️✨⛺️
Lovely video enjoyed watching your content
Keep up the amazing work 🫡👌❤️
Thank you so much I appreciate that 😊 BW, Sarah

Hi Sarah
Now that's what I call an after work stroll.
Cheers
Graham
Hey Graham, thanks for watching and yes! My guardian. I consider myself to have numerous guardians when I’m out from rainbows to robins and those encouraging inner voice mates that egg me on to achieve. When k was climbing up the hardest part of the clough and seeking water to filter, the light was fading fast and visibility was crap. The guardians came to lead my way and I was safe before I knew it after my initial doubt. I never feel truly alone anymore. Thanks for commenting on the salient points of my video. I can’t half cram a lot in 😂best wishes! See you next time, Sarah
@@SoloSarahBX Thank you Sarah for your wordy comments, some channel owners hardy put any thought into their replies, it makes a real difference.😀
@@gberish602 and the day I start sending meaningless short replies will be the day I m not doing this for the right reasons. Never forget where you came from, started from and who inspired and encouraged you 😊⛺️✨⛺️
@@SoloSarahBX Wonderfully grounded, my favourite kind of person!
My goddess’ have names, mine that I keep on my alter is called Selene as she is the goddess of the moon 🌙 which you may notice is of great comfort to me when I am
Out camping on a dark clear night. I’m not taking her in a camp though as she is too heavy 😂see ya on the next one, ATB Sarah
