A note about the slides on the cultural links between Malta and Spain. The tentative claim here is that the Maltese folk singing “għana” may be a vestige of the Spanish zajal. Various musical traditions in Malta and Southern Italy seem to have their origins in Spain. This seems more plausible when one considers that Muslim Sicily was considered as the daughter of al Andalus and later in the Chr...

Islam it was invented in the year 622 by a rascal cameltrader arab coppying some biblical fragments sufism and his owns thoughts. Islam it was intented to replace the Jewish Christian heritage in the Middle East area.
kabala in hebrew means reciving
This might need three listenings. & prayers for the victims.
Thanks, that is believable genuine history. Basically its anti-christ minded people harming and destroying Christ people. Muslims knowadays are actually on anti-christ ways, because they say Christ was not Crucified.
He is clearly describing the corrupt political factions which plagued Byzantine cities. The authorities let them express their differences by cheering for their Chariot teams but they often broke out in riots. It seems they were patriotic and did not agree with the idea of making peace with the Persian army.
The Blues and the Greens were the two chariot racing factions in Constantinople representing the aristocrats and the commoners.
The 1st crusade didnt do half the damage the Jews/Persians did to Jerusalem in 614.
Yes, the level of damage was horrendious, but the death toll - which is in part 2 - was even worse. It is hard to even comprehend the barbarity involved, it was on the level of the concentration camp industrial killing of the 1940s.
First to comment!
Many thanks! This was a fascinating, informative series. Happy New Year.
Lol a panel of non muslims and Christian apologists talking about islams origins. The muzzies live rent free in their heads 😂 for the record modern day non muslim academics don't share their sentiments or regurgitated orientalist findings. Even marjin van putten research on the quran and its origin refers to some of these claims as hogwash
Marjin "sponsored by the Saudis" van Putten, that deserves a LOL from me. Good grief.
@IslamicOrigins lol the cope. Like i said rent free 😂
By trying to spread wrong information, you are in fact promoting Islam which is clearly evident. I am sure anybody with a fair opinion and logical thinking will embrace Islam after going through this type of stuff. Thank you all 7 stupids
forwarded: "65. O People of the Book! Why do you argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Will you not reason? 66. Here you are-you argue about things you know, but why do you argue about things you do not know? God knows, and you do not know. 67. Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a Monotheist, a Muslim. And he was not of the Polytheists. 68. The people most deserving of Abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe. God is the Guardian of the believers. 69. A party of the People of the Book would love to lead you astray, but they only lead themselves astray, and they do not realize it. 70. O People of the Book! Why do you reject the revelations of God, even as you witness? 71. O People of the Book! Why do you confound the truth with falsehood, and knowingly conceal the truth?" [Quran 3: 65-71]
By watching this Islam killed itself.
So they talk about Muslims and none of them are Muslim with lier Christians you will still lose
Prove it
@ I don’t have to prove it. Most of West Europe are either atheist or Muslim. They’ve left the Christian faith and east European are about to do the same.
If you wantvyo talk than font talkcninsensicle nonsenses but if you must talkvthabctalkvsome sensible nonsense
When non islamic dudes get together to spew nonsense ..
Please don't forget to attend the next conference about Jesus resurrection with a panel of 6, featuring top leading Hindu scholars.
What are they trying to achieve here
What about cristchinaty scripture ?
Clarification on the point at 3.23 - The word masjid in Malta was used to mean synagogue. According to al Jallad From Nabatean Aramaic (masgeda) we get the Byzantine Greek masgida, Central Atlas Tamazight (Berber) tamezgida, Romance mezquita and Arabic masjid. Check out first episode for more information at 1.02.00 We must also not forget that alternatively it may have originated from Yemen as The Linguist points out in the comments section of that video.

Excellent presentation 👍 One small correction the Himyarites were Jewish and the Aksumites were Christian. I wasn't aware of the word مشعمذ mušaʿmiḏ. It appears there is consensus that this must be derived from משמד mešumad, as originally proposed by Alex Metcalfe. In Hebrew mešumad means destroyed, as a result of (forced) convertion to Christianity. The context for both words is very alike. Ibn Hawqal wrote that the Sicilian Muslims compromise their faith with their Christian wifes (naṣrāniyya), and their daughters became Christian with their mothers, and their sons became al-mušaʿmiḏūn, that is slack Muslims. Thus by extension their Muslim fathers are also al-mušaʿmiḏūn.
I have noticed a tendency in the comments to refer to the "whiteness" of the panel as a disqualification for discussing Islam. OK, Muslims be consistent: -Abu Juhaifa reported: I saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) that he had white complexion and had some white hair, and Hasan b. 'Ali resembled him. Book 43, Hadith 139 -It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say the salam to his right so that the whiteness of his cheek could be seen, and to his left so that the whiteness of his cheek could be seen." Book 13, Hadith 145 -Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was not accustomed to raice his hands in any supplication he made except when praying for rain. (He would then raise [his hands] high enough) that the whiteness of his armpits became visible. 'Abd al-A'la said that (he was in doubt whether it was) the whiteness of his armpit or armpits. Book 9, Hadith 7 Of course, I don't believe in hadiths as being historically true. But if you want to give out about the panel being "white", then you are throwing both your Prophet and the hadiths under the bus.
Thank you for this Noel! This has been a treat learning about the important linguistical side of Malta, especially since it is so RARE to find anything about our culture thesedays. Despite all these new movies being filmed here, haha. I do hope you all continue the series onto the next year! I'll be waiting for everything you say about the Norman conquest, for next year (I found out my father's side is related to one of the Hautevilles who invaded the whole Emirate of Sicily, quite something) I may not be good at linguistics, but I love my history. Happy new year!
Niżżik ħajr minn qalbi :)
Malta sounds fascinating. I hope to visit it someday.
Loool a bunch white dude discuss how a middle eastern man start a religion, like couldn't you get one guy from there to share his 2 cents
Muslims are encouraged to memorise the Quran to recite it accurately, but they are discouraged from truly understanding and interpreting it under pain of excommunication or death for deviating from the accepted interpretations per the Tafsirs
7th century mentality....convert or die mentality....Koran vs Constituion....worst religion award....
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 No Muslim on the panel
The Aramaic of the Koran appears to be that of EASTERN Aramaic which uses an 'ah' ending to many words instead of 'oh' ending ... examples 'QERYANA', 'ISHA', 'ELOHA'. Cognates of these words are in the Koran. Many pieces of evidence point to the ORIGIN of Islam in SOUTH-CENTRAL IRAQ.
That's too reductive. For instance Q2:196:31 صَدَقَةٍ ṣadaqatin meaning 'charity' cannot be a Syriac loan, because Syriac renders the root exclusively with a zain /ܙ/. But in CPA we do find ṣdqʾ spelled with an sadhe (Hebrew influence?), an other possible origin is JBA as in Talmud Shabbat 156a:11 "...הַאי מַאן דִּבְצֶדֶק - יְהֵי גְּבַר צִדְקָן..." One who was [born] under Jupiter will be a charitable man. So definitely not Syriac. But either CPA or Hebrew. But JBA is possible, even though it's a hapax in the Talmud.
@TheLinguist601 I'm miffed that you respond to my comment about final -ah endings with a coment on sadaqatin.
@TheLinguist601 If 'sadaqatin' is charity, it is obviously a loan word from Hebrew 'tsedhek'. The root of the word ṣadiq, is ṣ-d-q (צדק tsedek), which means "justice" or "righteousness". So when you 'do righteiousness', you give to charity.
@@mr.angelosonassis3069 That's the thing... It's not obvious, it could be CPA, JBA, or Hebrew. There is no way to be certain. Some researchers insist that it must be a Christian loan. Now, I'm not going through their arguments here. Imho, it could be a Jewish or Christian loan. But if it is a Christian loan, it most certainly is not Syriac, nor any other eastern dialect. Rather it must be Levantine. There are more examples where Syriac can be excluded. Marijn van Putten suggests that the Aramaic donor language for Quranic Arabic is the predecessor of Syriac. But this suggestion lacks any evidence. I would even say there is enough evidence to scrap that suggestion completely.
@TheLinguist601 Point taken. It is now assumed that Arabic script was an invention of Christian missionaries, since it first appears on the Church of St Sergius at Zabad, Syria in 512 AD.
Maltese-speakers with a scholarly bent towards the ORIGINS of Islam will have an ENORMOUS advantage in interpreting the LANGUAGE of proto- and early Islam.
Indeed. I am no scholar, but quite a few times these past few years, there are times when words pop out, that raise questions, or expose something. Just last week, a commentator uploaded a paragraph with a conclusion of the root of a word. Saracen... srq. To any Maltese this is obvious. S R Q... serq... Meaning theft. These are sooo obvious, even to the layman.
There was a time when the Muslims’ best defense for Islam was the following: “The Quran is written in the Arabic language - a language that is so rich in terms of intrinsic beauty, style, eloquence, and expressiveness that no human being, even if the Arabic language is his native tongue, can understand it unless he is a Muslim.”
Note that according to so,e of the ancient records, at one time in Ancient Egypt there was a Pharoah had a canal dug out from the sands from the Nile to the Red Sea, much of it near to the modern Suez canal, but for much smaller boats. But within a few generations either due to war or lack of slave power, the canal was swallowed up by the sands.
Another interesting observation: I used the longitude and latitude of these 3 cities: 1- Isfahan, Iran 2- Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and 3- Narbonne, France. The difference between the bearing angle of Isfahan to Narbonne, and Isfahan to Mecca is 89 degrees. I assume if you use the exact mosque coordinates, it may well be exactly 90 degrees. Conclusion: the analysis is taking the walls adjacent to the qibla as the qibla direction (assuming mosques are rectangular buildings).
Merv in central Asia was the seat of the caliphate for a few decades in early Abbaisd ara. Are there any qiblas pointing to Merv?
This channel and the bunch of people sitting here are trying hard to brainwash and refrain the young Christians and other non-Muslim youngsters to study Islam. They are afraid of the quantity conversion of people from different religions to Islam. A gentleman with a little common sense can find their biased approach. This is a mentally and intellectually poor bunch of people, who have formed this panel. Why didn't you add a Muslim to this panel??
Which do you think leads to brainwashing: a) asking questions (what we do), or b) don't ask questions (what Muslim leaders encourage)?
@IslamicOrigins Brainwashing: 1. All the efforts by the everything single person in this panel is to create doubts in the minds of young people who are listening and watching. 2. They have neither researched nor have explored the authentic resources, rather it is looking like they have only one mission and that is to defy Islam. Creating doubts by mixing different means and methods. Note: If you want your channel to grow, arrange a panel of Muslims scholars to address all the questions raised by this so-called researchers. I will be waiting for a panel of Muslim scholars on your channel.
