Save YouTube Videos to Watch Them Later
Have you noticed that when you go to the UA-cam home page or into the UA-cam app, that the collection of videos available to play changes when you go from one video to the next? Maybe you see a video that you want to watch next, but it disappears when you go back to your main UA-cam list?
In this short video, I'm going to show you how you can save the videos you want to watch into a Watch Later list.

    Hi Ivan. Just discovered your helpful channel. I would like to create DVDs that have traditional buttons. The same kind that commercial DVDs have had for 30 years. What this means is, a button that says “Play Movie” and another that says “Chapter Menu.” Is there a way to do this? I have tried using two copies of the movie, one with chapters and one without. This is almost there. However, if someone selects to play the movie, there are no chapter breaks, therefore, the chapter buttons on the DVD player remote do not work. It seems very odd that this simple capability would be omitted, especially when it was part of iDVD, Adobe Premier elements, and other software products back from when people were more interested in creating media.

  • @lloydlathrop3220

    Ivan, great video. I used to use Toast about 15-20 years ago and haven't had a need for it since then, but I was asked to create a Blu-ray and DVD masters for a friend's movie, so I bought Toast 20 Pro. I have to tell you, I'm very frustrated. All I want to do is create a custom menu, which I'm pretty sure I did correctly, and then create chapter markers in the video, which I did correctly. Now, when I preview the video, the name of the video does not appear on the main menu page, and when I click on the small box that "previews" the video, it jumps to the chapters page and doesn't play the video. I'm about ready to use a pre-made menu even though I don't want to, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Also, when I create a custom menu, I can't create 5 rows or 5 columns...the "5" is greyed out. Is it just me? Again, very helpful videos!

    The other thing that would be helpful is to teach us how to edit (Change the order of the pictures) It seems like it puts them in the order that you select them and if you decide later that you want one particular photo/video to be the first, you can't do it without deleting the whole memory and starting over

    • @HeyIvan
      @HeyIvan 20 днів тому

      You can impose order after the fact, or if you make an Album in Photos, the order you specify there get's respected when you create the slideshow.

    Ivan, this is fantastic... I was trying to make a picture and video collage for a friend's birthday and this helped... I even discovered how you change the song... You can even choose a song off of your iTunes downloads (How cool is that?) I can download Paul McCartneys Happy birthday song instead of the lame music choices.. If I were to upload on social media or youtube, would I get in trouble?

    Hey Ivan, Me again! I made a slideshow, it’s perfect with music etc. And I need to play it at a friends house this weekend. I tried putting it on a usb, and tried hooking the USB to my Apple TV, but nothing is working. Do you have a video on how I can export it off my Mac on to something else to show at my friends house? I have an iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

    • @HeyIvan
      @HeyIvan 20 днів тому

      If you have an Apple TV and your Mac is on the same Wi-Fi, you should be able to use AirPlay to play it on the TV, no dongle needed. Otherwise, if your Mac doesn't have one of those USB to HDMI dongles, you could use one of those and an HDMI cable to the television to play that way. Otherwise, you can export the show to a movie file. The only downside with this is that it will reduce the picture quality in the exported file. Here's were I talk about how to Export a Show: ua-cam.com/video/BAj-vk0xnBo/v-deo.html&si=M8Ufj_UNM32_vdmn Mac How to AirPlay to Apple TV: support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/stream-content-to-apple-tv-mh40624/mac

    • @HeyIvan
      @HeyIvan 25 днів тому

      After some experimentation, it seems like rotating the picture in the Library is the easiest way to rotate an image. On the Mac, I control-click or right-click an image and choose to rotate. Then, when you next look at the slideshow, you'll see the image has been rotated. If you have iCloud Photo Library turned on, you could do the rotation on your iPhone or iPad and it will sync back to the Mac.

      That's weird. Can you try creating a new slideshow and see if that fixes the issue. I once had a problem where I had to create a small separate Library because my project Library was being picky. The other thing I think is that maybe the Theme you're choosing is playing a video or two back in its entirety, which can go against the custom timing. Does your project include any videos?

      The theme you choose will constrain how many chapters appear on screen, but you can have more than one screen of chapters. The last position will be a link to the next chapter page that will have 6 thumbnails.

    Ivan, I think I figured it out. When I export to an external drive, it shows in a small screen the pictures plus video in slow motion being copied but stops short of the entire slide show. It states still coping but I didn't see any more pictures or video being copied. Previously I would hit cancel and that was that, this last time I left the computer on and did not cancel, after about 20 or so more minutes it eventually completed. So it was copying in the background but wasn't obvious to me. Again Thanks for your quick response, Hopefully this provides you with some additional knowledge. Thanks Tony G

      I had no idea you could do this. I'll have to try it out to see how it works. Your question makes me think of searching to see whether QuickTime has a file size limit. I found an article that seems to indicate that 4 GB is the largest. I don't know if it's true. Will have to experiment. It seems like the answer is more complicated than I first thought. discussions.apple.com/thread/8412605?sortBy=best You might want to experiment with different frame sizes. Perhaps the file size is big because you're using full quality images to produce a 4K or similar result. The Photos app reduces quality to 1080p to sidestep file size issues. I'll have to try this out -- Apple Article for creating a movie with an image sequence. support.apple.com/guide/quicktime-player/create-a-movie-with-an-image-sequence-qtp315cce984/mac

      Oh. You should also take a look at iMovie. It’s a different way of thinking, but it should be able to produce superior results compared to QuickTime.

    How to place a Video between 2 Menus, to User Thema as Transitions ?

    • @HeyIvan
      @HeyIvan 25 днів тому

      You know, I'm not sure it'll work that way. You can embed a video into the menu, but that video will not be connected to your DVD project in the same way that the chapters are. It'll just be a thing that plays while the menu is displayed, I believe.

      Hmm. You may want to try a different theme. Maybe magazine.

    One thing you didn't mention was that Wondershare will only do DVDs on mac, for Blu Rays you need Windows.

      You know, I haven't really jumped into Blue-ray on the Mac, but I know it's possible. Here's a UA-cam video by another creator who goes into it in some depth. Apparently, the process is not straightforward; it involves Homebrew on the Mac and a couple of command lines in Terminal. This whole thing is definitely more technical than I plan to get into on my channel. Here's the video I watched to learn more about Blue-ray on Mac. ua-cam.com/video/xTzvh0EFg_s/v-deo.html

    I did the same thing as you suggeted but when I veiwed the slideshow the photos were blurry. What am I doing wrong?

    • @HeyIvan
      @HeyIvan Місяць тому

      When you export the slideshow, the Photos app reduces the quality of the images. Just run the slideshow inside of the Photos app and everything should look much clearer.
