TRAVELING IMMUNE COMPROMISE- My first trip after my Kidney transplant. A few days in Mexico.

Hi there ! I am 10 months post kidney transplant and for several months i was literally almost bald. I was initially on Tacrolimus to begin with and was changed to Envarsus due to tremors. I lost TONS of hair at that point. I went back on the regular Tacrolimus twice a day and my hair stared coming back like crazy. Mine is in the ugly duckling phase where it is very thin on the end as well. Ive got that crazy regrowth as well. Some of it is the trauma of surgery and some is the medication. I am also on 10,000 Biotin everyday, and using Biotin oil on my scalp. I feel you warrior ❤💪🏼

Thank you for this video. I was stable at 41p. cent function for years - told my kidney would outlive me. Over the past year, especially, my function has plummeted. I dropped to 31 after having Covid, and now I’m at 24%. It’s terrifying! You mentioned stress as a likely contributing factor for you, and I can say, that the past year has been one of the saddest and most stressful for me. My doctor can’t explain the sudden decrease, but stress might be the answer. Thank you for this video, Wendy! Do you have any advice or tips for me, as I brace for what is to come ? I hope you continue to be well!!

I genuinely wish you nothing but the very best, and my deepest hope is that your remaining kidney function perseveres for countless years ahead. Reflecting on the past, I realize I would have approached those difficult times with more tenderness towards myself, making a conscious effort to embrace relaxation and self-compassion. I would have acknowledged my illness with a gentler heart, showering myself with love and kindness despide the challenges that surrounded me. Stay positive, you got this ♥️

Hi Wendy, Thank you for your videos. I felt somewhat lost after the surgery and couldn't find anyone that could truly relate despite working in the medical field. I can't even imagine others who are not. I am now losing my hair tremendous, and I've used all the remedies prior to the surgery just as a normal routine (I had course thick course hair). I am now getting creative with wigs, scarves, hair pieces and crocheting beanies. I am not a quitter and takes this as another chapter in my book of life. Diet is key and it's hard to exercise for me at this time. Discussed trying another medication other than Tacrolimus , but that's a different discussion. Again, thanks and best of luck!
