Am a dialysis technician. watching your videos and making me feel so touch deep in my heart.dont know how to express and explain..Continue your routine and my prayers for you ..All the best for your future..God bless you dear❤
thank you so much! I’m a transplant patient but my kidney is rejecting after 8 years. I have to start PD in a few weeks and I’m so nervous my first time I did hemodialysis’s
I am so sorry to heard that Maria. I hope you can find a new kidney soon. ❤️ I never did Hemo but my experience with PD was pretty good. I hope it works well for you as well. Best of luck. 💚
Hi I've been doing CAPD dialysis since early October 2023. I currently do it 6 nights a week overnight. I work in a hospital kitchen but I have been on the sick since September when I had CAPD catheter inserted as well as having iguirnal hernia fixed. I get my state pension in May 2023 anyway when I'm 66.
I'm on the national database transplant list. Feel I should have gone back to work after my ops & done light duties ie no heavy lifting. Anyone else doing same as me ie off work & doing CAPD?
I’m starting PD dialysis in about one week. I really like your cart/storage set-up. Where did you get those? Thanks for all of your videos - they are a huge help.
You’re welcome John best of luck to you. PD was a great option for me I hope it works great for you as well. I got the organizers from Amazon but you can also find them in craft stores like Michaels and hobby lobby.
Thank you for your information, I just started pd 2 weeks ago. Im currently doing manual pd and im too scared to do the automatic pd because everytime I’m draining I get a really bad pain in my lower belly. With doing manual I can control the flow of the fluid which makes it little less painful. Any tips on how to get rid of the pain/cramps?
You are so welcome. The drain pain is more common at first then gets better. Still painful but better. Tips? Yes! When you get your prescription to use the machine ask them to do tidal. That way the machine doesn’t completely drain you between exchanges and that doesn’t affect you at all. That will cause you to have no pain at all during exchanges. That way you will only have to deal with the final drain. Like I said it gets better. In a way your body expected and it hurts less everytime. However, something you can do when you start feeling the pain is to pause the machine and move around. If there is more liquid to drain, the pain will stop but if still hurts must likely is not much more to drain. At that point I used to overwrite the machine and finish my treatment there. Leaving a little be of liquid, in my opinion is not going to make any difference. Once you get used to the machine dialysis becomes way easier. I hope this helps. Best of luck! You got this 💪🏼
@@soryamotshidisi7949i did my flush yesterday and it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. We barely made it to 200ml before i begged them to stop. And they moved my catheter around after the surgeon and it hurt so bad. The surgeon repositioned it today and that’s better. But when they tried to drain me before they put any fluid in me i felt sick and they told me that wasn’t normal noone told them they’d ever been sick.
Yes, not too bad but it’s was painful to get up, to lay down and to walk. I had my surgery on a Friday and the following Monday I went for my first dialysis and I needed help walking in and I was also holding a pillow for support.
@wendycopeland2.0 Wow, that's exactly how I feel. I had my surgery yesterday, and I'm in so much pain, and it's so hard to get up. My husband has to help me 😩 how long did it take for the pain to go away for you?
@@wendykonopelky8112 I am sorry you are feeling pain sis. For me the worst part it was about 4-5 days. Are you taking pain pills? They did wonders for me the first two days. After that I managed with Tylenol.
@wendycopeland2.0 Thanks, girl. I'm not starting dialysis yet. I have to do 2 flushings starting next Tuesday, then go for the training and then start dialysis. Right now, I'm only taking Tylenol extra strength. What other pain meds did you take besides Tylenol?
Another amazing video and great pic at the end ☺️🥰 im learning so much watching your videos!

The cramps never go away but your machine will only pull 13 to 15 mills in small amounts and you’ll get used to it
O but it's so painful😢 I'm only starting with the flush

What’s the best sleep positions for this should I buy a bed wedge pillow set
I have inclined my bed to about 12 degrees. Just the head half. Improved draining significantly.
