Expensive BURGERS in MONTEVIDEO and... | A Uruguay travel vlog (subtítulos en español)
Want to know what Montevideo is really like? Join us on a 2-day adventure through Montevideo, Uruguay! From the historic stadium where the first-ever World Cup match was played to strolling along the vibrant Rambla (with a few unexpected smells along the way! 🤢), this city was one we never thought we'd make it to but couldn't pass up an opportunity to see on our way out of South America.
Day 1 kicks off with a visit to Estadio Centenario, where football history was made in 1930. We then wander down the Rambla, enjoying the chill atmosphere and coastal views, despite a smelly surprise along the way.
On Day 2, we take in panoramic views of the city, explore the Ciudad Vieja (which was a bit different than what we expected) and visit two of the city's largest markets with some VERY expensive burgers...
Let us know what you think of Montevideo in the comments! Have you visited?

      Hi, that's not true. Look at these indicators: 1. it has the largest amount of black land in the world. 2. maritime surface larger than the country full of resources. 3. 4 cows and 3 sheep per person. 5. Third exported raw software in America. Education for all beginners including master's degree and free health. 6. An Anesthetist has a salary of $10/20k per month. Leader in digital government in the world. 7. 98% of energy is renewable. 8. Uruguayans have 3 times the GDP in savings. 9. The Urugayans own 20,000 km of fields in Paraguay. 10. manufactures satellites. 11. Montevideo GDP by 2022 according to Wikipedia: 30k by 2024: 40k. If you have health problems in America, sometimes the insurance deductible can leave you bankrupt, or if you have to pay for school or university. That in Uruguay is guaranteed by the State. If you have to get a mortgage in the United States you have private banks, in Uruguay that is public and managed by the State, it is called BHU in Spanish. Now tell me: which of the two countries is from the third world? Cheers.

Saludos

      I wouldn’t say third wordless - it’s a developing country. And, of the developing countries - I’d say it’s comparatively high up there in terms of economic success.

      @@gonzaloperez6508 I am American (L.A.) living in Montevideo. Uruguay has a better quality of life and is richer than the United States. In fact it has more blackland land than Georgia (U.S.) The houses are built with concrete.

    hello, You tried try dive right! I am planning to do try dive and snorkeling. I donno swimmig neither having a scuba certification. Is it a good idea to try with try dive? Or good to go only with snorkeling? Suggestions please

    • @kineticpassports
      @kineticpassports 16 днів тому

      Yes! This was a try dive. We are both certified divers now, but we weren’t at the time. You don’t necessarily need to be a good swimmer to dive - you just need to be comfortable enough in the water to not panic. When you’re at the surface, your bcd (buoyancy control device) is filled with air and keeps you afloat - it kind of acts as a life jacket. Your guide/instructor will help you as you go under water by deflating your bcd and helping you control your buoyancy through adding/removing weights (usually in your bcd vest). On this dive, our guide swam in front of us and we followed him, but we’ve seen some try dives where the guide swims above you and holds on to you with a strap. Either way, your only jobs under water on a try dive are to keep breathing, kick your legs to move forward, stay close to your guide and keep calm. The guide will do a quick overview of some common hand signals for underwater communication before the dive, so just make sure to remember those so you communicate any issues along the way. Try dives are typically at much more shallow depths than standard dives to reduce risk. On this particular tour, we did our try dive at one location and then snorkeled at a couple of other spots. So, we were able to do both. And, that’s pretty common with try dive tours. You get to dive once and then at other stops you get to snorkel. In my opinion, snorkeling requires a bit more skill with swimming than diving. But, typically, snorkelers who are not strong swimmers are given life jackets. And, if you’re really not comfortable with swimming, guides will often have you hold on to a ring buoy they pull to guide you along.

    I am planning a trip to either Oman or Jordan in February. Which one would u pick? Which one did you love more? :-)

    • @kineticpassports
      @kineticpassports Місяць тому

      Well, my answer would be you should try to visit both in your lifetime! Jordan is a bit more set up for tourism (definitely look into the Jordan Pass) than Oman. Oman is lesser-visited, but that’s why we loved it - there were parts of the country we saw where there were legitimately no other people around. So, if you’re looking for a lot of natural beauty with less of a crowd, Oman definitely wins. If you looking for amazing food, we liked the cuisines in both countries - but, I will say we had a better food experience in Jordan. Another thing you might want to consider - Oman is a bit more conservative than Jordan. So, modest clothing is something you’d need to think about when traveling there.

    As you got so many views on Instagram with that one video I am wondering if that would be a better platform than UA-cam to make money on? What do you think? 😊

    • @kineticpassports
      @kineticpassports Місяць тому

      Great question! So, UA-cam is generally easier to monetize on than Instagram. We tried for a while to create both long form and short form content but found we liked creating long form better. Re the futbol video on Instagram - we found that the people watching it were mostly people into sports-related content. So, they weren’t the type of followers really interested in the travel content we produce and kind of dropped off in engagement with a lot of the other content we were creating. Hope that answers your question!

    This is like the greatest ad for Península Valdés one could ask for, it's amazing you guys don't have more views. Keep up the great work!

      Thank you so much! It definitely feels great to get a comment like that. Sometimes UA-cam loves you, sometimes not so much. The algorithm is still a mystery to us

    First thing you need to do when traveling is not to be cheap. Egypt is one of my all time favorite place to visit.

      Man if you’re living somewhere longterm you should definitely be careful with how you invest your money. It’s not being cheap to budget and think longterm.
