- We decided to risk our lives on a $50 HOT AIR BALOON ride in Luxor, Egypt to compare it with the $350 experiance we got in Cappadocia, Turkey. It didn't start quite right and I hope you stick till the end to find out how it ended.

We did this in February. I Had the same safety concerns, but we had our tour guide book for us, which helped. IT WAS AMAZING. So so worth it. Absolutely gorgeous. And we lived through it so, yay. My only issue is how many people they pack into the basket. You couldn't even turn around you were packed in so tightly.
Right!? I could believe how amazing it was - might have been better than our Cappadocia ballon ride. And, it was a fraction of the cost! Our basket wasn’t too overfilled, but I think it totally depends on the day. Some times they have fewer people book, sometimes they have more.

We were there in January! It was cold in the morning before the sun came out but warmer as the day went on. You’ll have so much fun - just bring a jacket with you just in case!
Why didn't you guys visit at least one coastal city, the beaches are insane, dahab, marsa matroh, Hurgada, etc
We'll have to visit those places next time. We learned after our visit that Egypt has some of the best diving in the world - we'll definitely be back!
We did go to Dahab and Sharm. While I wouldn't do Sharm again, Dahab was AMAZING. So I want to go back, and see Marsa Alam, and Hurghada too.
