The History & Influence of Cinema's Greatest Vampire | Nosferatu
1922's Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror has stood as my absolute favorite movie since I first saw it 18 years ago.
With Robert Eggers's adaptation on the horizon, I figured now would be a great time to look back at the film that gave birth to the cinematic vampire, exploring its influences, impact, and lasting legacy.

Predator: A Monument in Masculine Cinema
Переглядів 8 тис.Місяць тому
1987's Predator is one of my favorite films. It's rich, it's groundbreaking, and it's a shame that the franchise has been struggling ever since. "Predator" follows a team of commandos led by Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a skilled mercenary, who are sent to rescue hostages from a guerrilla group in a Central American jungle. However, after successfully dealing with the enemy, they realize they...
We Need More Films Like Juror #2

Juror #2 is easily one of the best films of the year and it is absolutely criminal that Warner Bros has limited its release to just 50 theatres in North America. Justin Kemp, an average family man, is summoned for jury duty in a high-profile murder trial. The case involves a man accused of killing his wife, with overwhelming evidence pointing to his guilt. As the trial progresses, Justin begins...

SPOILER WARNING Terrifier 3 was AWESOME! Terrifier 3 takes the horror franchise into the festive season, where 5 years later, Sienna Shaw is attempting to mend her life following the traumatic events of 2019's Terrifier 2. As Christmas approaches, she and her brother try to embrace the holiday spirit, hoping to leave their nightmarish past behind. However, their peace is shattered by the return...
Joker: Folie à Deux Blows (No Pun Intended)

As someone who was actually kind of optimistic about Joker: Folie à Deux, this movie was immensely disappointing. Joker: Folie à Deux is a sequel to 2019's Joker, wherein we find following the events on the Franklin Murray show, Arthur Fleck has been imprisoned at Arkham Asylum while awaiting his trial. As the courts try to determine whether Fleck is competent to stand trial, Arthur finds himse...

Exhuma, Devil's Bath, First Omen, even Lisa Frankenstein was a nice one. Damn, Vex you are tops. These were some cool films (that most mainstream yt critics didn't even check) you promoted! I should've checked your channel & subbed sooner!
2024 did have some good films, you really have to know where to look
For real! Even then you don't have to look far TBH.
what I dislike the most is that they used the "multiverse" concept to stop another character from dying. Theres no point to anyones death anymore because they just get brought back from another multiverse.
VeXXXy 🔥
"I want to rip out my own uterus and wear it as a face mask" had me DYING for like 5 mins straight - this was awesome Vex, thank you.
LOLOLOLOL you're welcome 🤣
Reminder for the " the glory " show😊
Thank you 😊🙏🏾

I knew something was wrong when only a specific crowd of people liked this show. Watching it myself was the most painful slog of my life, didn't even make it pass episode 3. Thank you for saving my time
Complete hot garbage of the hottest kind. Could you imagine being such a dork that this is your favorite movie just cause wolverine is with deapool
the plot made no sense and it was too fast paced, i could barely keep up. also, the voice acting is just TERRIBLE. i watched it in a different language and turned on english subtitles so i didnt need to listen to that shit while watching..
its so funny seeing ppl seethe over this movie. genuinely its better than alot of previous Marvel movies. This and Guardians 3 are signs they KNOW how to make good movies but choose to make slop.
I absolutely hated the movie, 2024, it’s beautiful though. It’s nice to hear your love of the old film though, good history lesson 🐮🖤
AI nonsense
LMFAO 😂😂😂
It was a damn fine movie
This was FANTASTIC! Super interesting and helpful for a normie like me!
While Sunrise is my favorite Murnau film, I do enjoy a Nosferatu revisit every few years. Ebert once put it wonderfully: To see Nosferatu is to see the vampire film before it had seen itself. It's a movie that feels as though it truly believes in vampires. Oh, Carl Theodor Dreyer's Vampyr is also a rather fascinating, expressionist look at the subgenre, just in case you haven't seen it.
I really enjoyed Vampyr!!! It's been a hot minute since I watched it so now might be a good time for a rewatch. Sunrise definitely shows Murnau's growth as a storytelling. It's probably his peak, I'll agree there, but everything about Nosferatu is just amazing. Something so beautiful I can't let it go. Cheers bud!
The end justifies the means. What the juror had to do in the first place, was to vote the same as the other jurors. Yet the juror’s own emotional guilt and his wanting to do the least of harm by putting doubt into the guilt of the defendant, leads in the end to more pain and sorrow for his baby and his girlfriend, and lets a criminal come back to his abusive relationship. Society, here represented by the 11 other jurors, has its right in the first place, as their nonchalant thinking of bad guy needs to be behind bars, would have led to the juror’s child not being raised fatherless and have a beautiful life. The juror is a symbol for the judeo christian belief system seeking truth, and this movie surprisingly does show this ideal is fading over time in preference of a more egotistical and utilitarian ideal
Yeah, well when your gonna mock a crippled, and people who like this movie. Then your credibility is gone, and you watch EFAP, makes your credibility even worse. Plus the fact you sound like an ai trying to be human. You sound like a watchmojo host. The plot doesn’t establish stakes 😂😂😂. What do you mean, the stakes are, Deadpool’s universe will die if he fails. That’s the stakes, I guess universal threats isn’t enough for you. Your a joke. ah yes, the plot of a team of superhero’s breaking apart and fighting in a civil war is so original. And every superhero movie isn’t based on a comic. And all those characters are totally not ripped from pages. Yep, all those totally original movies. Yeah, everything is similar to something else. Your point falls apart when you think. I know, you haven’t done that in a while. Do you not understand anything. Did you watch the movie. The “Time Machine” is not even close to what you call it. If you actually understood the words that TVA man said. He said, it’s a time ripper that deletes timelines. Now, let’s use context clues, a machine that can rip apart an entire timeline. Can also rip apart a person 😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯. So there go’s another point of yours. Ahh yes, no legitimate villain, it’s not like there’s one person who’s constantly being a problem for the protagonists. Please explain to me how there is no legitimate villain. What’s your reason, because the villain loses in the end. You know that happens a lot in movies. You see, the TVA don’t know that their trying to kill Deadpool. The TVA has not been informed about that, so with that knowledge. You can assume, that the TVA guy doesn’t have the right resources. Even better, the series that set up the TVA, didn’t have guns. So Deadpool 3 is just following the rules set by Loki. Use your brain, I think you have one. Please tell me how they rewrote blade. Well again, I’m loki, the TVA stopped destroying universes. They even explain this in the movie. Not that hard to understand. But then again, you make fun of crippled people, so you might need a little more time to think about it. The universe doesn’t die because its basically living on the fact that Wolverine will be born. If somebody where to disrupt that event, then the universe would die. Again, not that hard to understand. Every movie is a product your meant to consume. That’s the point. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
I saw this in the 80's, but I was a teenager and didn't really appreciate it at the time. In the 90's I saw the Klaus Kinski version and hated it. So I watched the 1922 original again and found a new love for the film.
There's a lot of things I can appreciate about the Herzog adaptation, like Kinski's portrayl and restoring a lot of the deleted bits regarding Lucy/Ellen that didn't make it into Murnau's final cut. But I agree, I'm not as much of a fan. The blend of Stoker elements in the Herzog adaptation dilutes basically all the horror that Murnau's had. Merry Christmas Franko 🎄🎅🏻
@@VexElectronica Oh yes, Kinski's portrayal and make up was great. Just didn't like the film.
You clearly researched the heck out of this and all that hard work is appreciated! Excellently done! I give this 10 sets of fangs out of 10!
Awww thank you! This was purely a passion project. I love everything aboit this film. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏻
I had NO idea about the backstory of this film! So enjoyable to listen to as I do last minute cleaning before getting to sleep (otherwise Santa won’t come!). Great work Vex!
Thank you so much Tai!!! There's so much more history behind this film I glossed over. Truly an impressive feature. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏻
I really need to see the original, I’m ashamed! 😅 Merry Christmas Vex 🎁❤️
It's definitely not for everyone, but as a key piece of cinema history, a must. There's quite a few versions in circulation. If you can, I recommend BFI's version. Merry Christmas Lovett 🤗🎄🎅🏻
You have a active Conflict against Christians by various Muslims/Islamist Groups, that killing and kidnapping Christians, in particular Children even uptill present time of 2024!
Gang gang
Sorry to hear its a rough morning for you!! Btw you have a adorable laugh! Btw have a Great Awesome Christmas!
Fascinating! Just so much history in the film even coming back to the public
Genuinely a marvel that this survived. Blows my mind. Merry Christmas Whitemus 🤗☃️🎄

Thank you so much Gourdison!!!! Merry Christmas 🤗🎄
Your unabashed love of this film is refreshing
I could do a whole series on this movie. I stuck to the big stuff here. I appreciate it Zaxxy! Merry Christmas to you and your family 🤗🎄
@VexElectronica Merry Christmas right back VeXXXy. When the brown Canadian girl says her favorite film is 1922's Nosferatu, don't let her escape 😁
saw this movie for the first time last year. definitely was pretty unsettling. crazy how it was almost lost to time. shout out to movies lost to time damn shame.
It consistently blows my mind that this survived against all odds. It makes me wonder what other gems were lost to time. Cheers Cassie and Merry Christmas 🤗🎄
