I would recommend that you remove the buttstock and the butt plate and wax what is essentially bare end grain wood. Also the inside of the forend that is also somewhat unfinished wood.
I have shot 1,000’s of Barnes 168gr ttsx through my 30-06. . As far as copper build up. I have seen a lot of copper build up. But that’s due to the amount of of ttsx and tax bullets I have used over the years. Every one e and a while it’s good to remove the copper build up. You’re not going to get all the copper out. As far as accuracy goes. 1/4” inch at 100yd 1/2” to 3/4” at 200yd 1”- 1 1/2 at 300yd. Barnes ttsx and tax 168gr is what I hunt with.
The FCU looks pretty close to that of the P320 and enough reason in my book to stay far away. It's a nice, small package but being I value my package I'm not carrying one of these.
Yes, watch for build up but the gun community tends toward fanaticism on many things. You want barrel imperfections “ironed” over. Also, the gilding metal used for cup and core bullets can scrape a monolithic bullet so I just shoot copper solids in my rifle. It would be good to clean if going from one to the other. IMHO
Tikka T3x with Caliber 300 WSM. Short or Long Action?
Thanks for sharing the knowledge brother my wife was wanting one as well but was scared to go without a safety. I really appreciate the video!!!
Their current slip rings are light gray and shiny. I did not like mine so I bought a black one and sprayed it with moly resin.
HOLY CRAP!!! That's GENIUS!
Nice work!
I inherited that exact same firearm. What year is that thing?
Pleas can you give me the exact diameter of that bolt,I hope came some vedio thank you
Nicely done video. Very helpful.
Can a H&R .410 shotgun be relined to a .38 special or .357 magnum?
This pistol has no safety at all, only safety it’s your brain and I like that 😎
This happened to me before, awesome tutorial 🤘🏽
Thank you so much
THXS
Thank you sir! I cleaned my pistol for the first time and couldn't figure out what was wrong... You nailed it.
How a P365 go off in a holster?
.270 win with 130 TTSX, is my favorite. got mine going 3050 out of a weatherby Mark V. Longest shot was a pronghorn at 385 yards.
There is a trick to glass bedding these. Afterwards, it will shoot like a house afire. No need for a torque wrench, or anything like that. Just bed it, and tighten down those action screws. Trust me on this one. It's all mechanical.
Debating on reloading these with the 110gr or even 95gr for the .270. Whitetails only, 99% of the time less than 200 yds. Any thoughts?
So you accept chechering job
Nice featherweight stock. You go good work. Thanks for the video!
Great idea.
In old style SW with square yoke retaining screw you can fix peening the yoke button. In this case I use shim at last chance because a washer keep the yoke forward reducing the cylinder barrel Gap. If you have a really tight gap was not the best idea.
Excellent Video, I have a problem when I reassembly the secure pin, it doesn´t work until I reassembly like the video : (
hi :) i am struggling with the first step. in your pistol looks so easy to pull the little button, rotate that thing and pull it out, but in my pistol is too hard to pull it out i don't know why
same to my glock 19x
Just happened to me after first time cleaning the gun, wanted to bring it to the range for help but thought maybe I look it up if someone has the same problem. Thank you so much for posting vid's like this, you guys have no idea how much of a help this is, thanks.
Have you tried bonded bullets to compare? I know you said you don't like bullets exploding which implies using normal cup and core lead bullets but bonded bullets are much better at holding together.
Are the SIG’s safe now ? I just bought one but I’m worried about all the problems they used to have
Where do you order one of these safety kits at? I’m looking to add one to my x macro
Hm, I would say: longer the bullet (length to width ratio) better ballistic coefficient. Thus: solid copper bullets have ballistic advantage over lead and lead/copper bullets. Examples: 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 Norma magnum etc.
Welp, I guess I have to learn to solder because this is the exact problem I have, and this is the only solution that I've found on this issue . Replacement parts are always sold out, and from the looks of it, no one offers an already upgraded shell stopper
I was looking at the p365-XL Spectre comp. But they all don’t have safety. I think one that come with safety is the p365-XL rose gold one. Can I just buy a new handle with a safety space already on it and buy the safety manual switch. Do what you did in the video but instead of cutting the handle. Just replace with a new one that already have one?
Please learn to pronounce the German. It’s not that hard. 😂
Thank you!!
I have a 1951 model 43 in 22 hornet. Drilled and tapped from the factory. Incredibly accurate out to 200-250 yards on a calm day. I enjoyed your video and especially the articles. You’re right, not much info on these great rifles out there. Thanks
The Barnes TTSX is an absolute beaty. its accurate and hits like a truck.
I’m not a You Tube poster but do you realize you have that Arrowhead on the weapon backwards???
Great video helped me immediately.
Great video. Can you make one for a C.Sharps 1875 sporting rifle? I just purchased one and would like to see how to change the firing pin.
Some precision bolt gun builders will use a go gauge with a single layer of scotch tape on the base as their no go for more precise head spacing. Is that ever done with ARs?
Motor oil on recoil tube......runs all year
I do have an interesting question that no one has been able to answer. I have a new sig p320 but there is slide moment up and down on the last round and during dry fire. I have sent the gun into sig and was told this was not an issue at 10 yards so they will not replace the fcu. This is not an issue with any of my other p320's and short of getting a new fcu, I do not know a work around. It seems the tolerance between the fcu and slide is the issue, and since the slide doesn't have that issue on the other FCU's that I have put it on, I am let to think I have a bad stock FCU housing and sig is refusing replace this. I again am open to thoughts and options
What would you recommend using to paint it. Personally not a fan of the green. (Thanks for the great video)
