I have a 1951 model 43 in 22 hornet. Drilled and tapped from the factory. Incredibly accurate out to 200-250 yards on a calm day. I enjoyed your video and especially the articles. You’re right, not much info on these great rifles out there. Thanks
I was just given my grandfather’s 22 hornet Model 43. It’s a 1950 drilled and tapped from the factory. I actually found your articles earlier today! I’m going to start reloading for it and see if the barrel is still decent. Visually just looking down the barrel it’s pretty rough on the chamber end. Still in great shape besides small surface rust spots and bluing missing along the barrel. If the barrel still shoots ok I think I’ll eventually have it taken apart and refinished. The stock just needs a light sanding and recoating. I just took my time and cleaned and lightly coated everything to stop further deterioration. Good articles and videos. I really want to get a redfield 1 piece mount for it but we will see how that works out!

Just bought one in 218 bee it was perfect and was drilled and tap from the factory.
Very cool, nice looking piece
Think they started production in 1943 (Model 43)
They actually didn’t, Winchesters models didn’t go off of year. For example the model 70 started production in 1936
Started in 48. Doubt if many civilian guns were made during WW2.
