QSC LA108 | Do I have the worst luck when it comes to new gear?
I just bought four QSC LA108 speakers with QSC cases and of course I have issues... I am quite positive I have the worst luck ever when it comes to buying new gear. I mean seriously if we analyze failure rates of equipment based on my purchases. I don't know how anybody has gear that works 🤣

Yamaha STAGEPAS 1K mkII - Pre-release Thoughts On This Upgrade
Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
Long story short I think the STAGEPAS 1K mkII is what the mkI version should have been. There just isn't much that has been changed but for some reason the output is significantly better without swapping out speaker components. I am confused and I'm going to have to buy one when they are available to figure out if there truly is much of a difference. If you would like to support my channel and ...

I’ve got nothing against Taylor’s, but I don’t like them. All highs and lows, but no mids. Doesn’t work for me, but loads of other people like them. It is what it is.
But these are much much louder than the EV Evolve 50 !
Love the FBT Sound, but even with 2x the number I think the CS1000 would struggle, maybe go up to the VN2000/VN2500 system.
This vs the Yamaha Stagepas 1k mk2 ?
Mine arrive tomorrow - main thing for me, was the mk1 was the only PA that ever got asked to turn up, didn't have the same issue with the RCF J8, but the sound on these is soo much nicer than the J8. Have you got details of you DIY Karoke rental setup ?
I'll be right down. Let me throw on some clothes😮
We've got about 10 OM5s at church - half are about 20 years old, and the other half about 10 years old. I haven't had any die so far.
I love your honesty. Can you pls recommend a bang for buck speaker that i can ise for a big wedding maybe 300 or a small school dance ag the same time do a full band live sound? Can an ev etx12 with a 15 inch sub or a yamaha dzr12 with 15 inch sub handle that? Or would u recommend anything other that these options? Im looking for a 12inch top and 15inch sub combo bec i have limitted space in cargo. Appreciate your inputs. Thanks!
Holy shit. Get to the point. 5 minutes in, and you've talked about everything BUT the mixer you're supposed to be reviewing. Please don't ever post another video.
I can't. 5 minutes in and we're still talking about the case? Ads every 2 minutes just so it can return and I can hear name drops of other equipment? I can't. I give up.
As an older female muso i find the bass unit way too heavy, and have difficulty loading it into my suv wagon, so much so I've used it twice and now thinking of selling it.
Did you ever solve the vibration issue?
Our church bought the same unit in 2020 and have had the exact same problems. We also bought a back up but are having to get one repaired every few months. Not good. Do not recommend.
Watch at 2x
can you hook this up to studio one DAW and play drum backing tracks through the stagepas 600?
Good info, will watch out for any of these gadgets with auto gain, hard pass.
I have a 4D that has lasted for 6 years... then took a shit on my gig last weekend. Replacement heater part is over $200... ugghhh
Ya, but i need some 21" subs there sugar doll?
Hey, possibly a stupid question but here goes…do the Yamaha covers impact the sound output from the subs?
With RCF I feel is like Mercedes Benz, the reason one pays more is for the Shipping and import fees. I always wonder if the prices in Italy or EU for that matter are much cheaper. I agree with the Evox12, used it 3-4 times, if you can get the tops as high as you can, and you're not clipping the lows you get good coverage, however there's no uhmf behind it. I bought initially a pair of DXR15's (first gen) and have been doing private events with those two by themselves for close to 8 years they have been solid with clear sound. The only thing I've had issues with is the DXS18XLF. I bought one just over 1.5yrs ago, and another 9 months ago (because of back order issues). I kept getting the Alert 20 Code error, which made it inoperable. Sent it back for repair and it was replaced with a band NEW one, about two months later had the same issue with the replacement. they referred me to a local repair contractor which was a pain (limited hours, can only drop off in person, not open on weekends), weeks of back and forth, to the point i went back to the dealer, and after a few calls, i found out they had 12 more open tickets with 18XLF's with the exact same issue as mine, so they offered to take it back and give me store credit. I was very surprised considering how solid my DXRs have been. However, since i bought them recently i suspect (yes only a theory) that with the chip shortage and supply chain issues i suspect maybe they took a different approach to make these (maybe other chips or parts) or perhaps just a bad batch out of the factory. anyhow, I sent it back and got my money back. really hoping to hear that they figured out what the issue was if so I would buy another yamaha. I currently only kept One 18XLS, with my two dxr15 tops, but might be considering a different setup. It's a 7 year warranty, but living in Miami I was surprise that there's only ONE approved repair center by Yamaha and it is within a hour ride away. Been patiently waiting to see if they will have an update to their lines DXR and DXS. a mK XX to whatever we currently have.
Just got four QSC LA108's the sound is amazing but the paint on the front grill chips off for no reason at all.
I once was playing this very punishing 808ish song on DXS18XLF (x2) for a minute or two. Compressed legato subtones hitting 35hz and 50hz contantly. But then I started smelling something that for sure wasn't anyones perfume. Checked the back of the Yammie's and did hit the red light much too often.. Fortunately they kept on working after I lowered the bass level and up till today they still do. But this video made me aware to tread this bad boys very gently, and if possible let them cool down for half an hour first before moving them or tilting them back on their casters. Thank you sir ;-)
thanks for the review. i've been looking at getting a DI box to plug into the board at my jam sessions and this was the ticket!
This is just what as i need for an introduction to allen and hearh mixers. Brilliantly done. 👏
I did a party on sat and ran my DJ controller to an analog mixer. I had my sub on aux and my tops through the main output. My EV 15” tops were set to the sub EV 18” and I was still getting way too much bass from it. Any tips? Or is that how it’s supposed to be?
I think the question should've been Yamaha DJ tops vs RCF DJ tops.
good day sir. what is the proper way of connecting using this direct box from the instrument to the stage monitor and mixer? thanks
I’ve got a 18 inch version and it does have a built in crossover. Maybe it wasn’t the standard when the video was released.
If you hear a rustling sound its loose voice coil turns! It got too hot and the glue melted. Yamaha stuff is pretty bulletproof and 7 year warranty is amazing!
Mine works most the time but every once in a while it won’t connect - and it reads “Bluetooth initializing…” forever.
Damn, you sure can ramble on and waste people time and not say shit!

If you haven't discovered it yet, you can reverse the knob scroll direction in the settings. I have 3000 series IEMs and had the same odd frustration with the scrolling direction when I first had them. I stumbled on the setting one day and am much happier that it scrolls more logically for my brain.
Thank u very much sir. This is very helpful for begginners like me
Can these actually compete with point source 15s and 18 subs for rock bands?
Thank you
To add power you can add a speaker by the link output isn't it?
Hi, is this deeper and louder than QSC KS112 or Bose SUB2?
Yup. I found the same issues. The only exception is their 150ce 12-string. I found one with lovely bass response and it records great. Sadly, their Expression pickup is almost useless.

How is it this thing doesn’t have phantom power? Dealbreaker.
My thoughts exactly. Guess I‘ll take a closer look at the Evolve 30m.
I just had an OM5 get knocked over on a stand from an outdoor stage, and it took about a 9 foot drop on to concrete. No damage other than a scratch on the windscreen.
Having overlapping bass frequencies drives me nuts, personally. The average listener might not notice the difference, but I am in nirvana knowing there is a discreet crossover doing its job. This said, I recently purchased a iQ15B with an IP300 top knowing full well I would be faced with the overlap syndrome. Honestly, my first listen was a positive one, albeit being tested in a small dining room. The sub is no doubt a far cry above anything else I've been using the past 40 years, BUT the lack of a built in discreet crossover was nagging me because I know that the IP300 will be using all it's amplifier headroom to fill the bottom unnecessarily. My fix for this issue was to place a Shure inline 100hz high pass XLR filter coming out of the subwoofer going to the IP300 top speaker. The result was a cleaner less mushy sound. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing the subwoofer will now do its job properly while the top speaker can use its full amplification power for the mid/highs. YESSSSSS!!! Of course I am open to other suggestions, but this is working quite well.

Nice video. I've been doing this for years but, instead of changing the position of my left hand, I simply rotate the cord in the other direction, creating the inside loop. IMO, it's faster and more efficient.
ok I got it now
