The hills are temporary. And be prepared for unsettled weather. There's lots of places to grab food, so enjoy those cool little towns, especially in Quebec, some awesome food. If you do camp at campgrounds, be prepared... I found them all a little pricy.

Tires, always the hot debate. I'm a big fan of Specialized Pathfinder Pro for mixed riding, but there so many others that are good.

This was my first try at making ANY bag and it worked out pretty good. Working with Xpac is like sewing paper, very weird. My mom always told me, sewing is 90% prep, 8% sewing and 2% undoing stuff

So true, there's always a stiff price of admission to pay, and sometimes you have to pay again after each intermission. 🤣

After all said and done, I was enjoying my ride too much and short on some footage... sometimes I just forget. Too busy smelling the roses. Need to up my game.

Yeah, I think 7-8 days is just perfect for this route. Shooting video takes up valuable time when going on trips ~ makes for long days and mediocre milage.

@@SaltyBeard_Adventures I can only imagine how challenging the additional time to film, set up the drone, and sort out the logistics of recording the journey must have been! We appreciate your efforts!!!

They do.. it's the rail grade path, but everyone's gotta get to the cafe patio somehow. And on weekends, they shut down a section of road for bikes only (no bikepath along that section)

I do all my own stunts... LOL -- I create maps, overlays, etc, in my editing software Davinci Resove. Did you watch the Bike Packing BC videos.. those had my own hand painted maps, brought into the same software, with motion overlays, but built in spacial 3D so I could "fly" the viewer through the map.

I miss that about Ontario/Quebec and all those red maple trees in the fall.

I'm a die-hard Oakley fan, since the Razor Blades. The ones I'm wearing now are the Plazma with prescription transition lenses. If you check out the very last scene in this video, they are on the picnic table, and the lenses are completely clear. In my old videos I'm wearing Jawbones (they lasted almost 10 years).

When riding just the GoPro mic with a full body foam cover. Voiceover is a RODE NT direct into my editing software. Both get a little "special sauce" remastering in Fairlight.

Another quick trick... your iPhone with a cloth or sock over the whole thing and just use the memo-app.

@Bikepacking / what software are you running? I used to use Lumafusion on an old iPad a good while ago. I don't have a new enough Ipad to try DaVinci Resolve mobile, which I think could be pretty good. I run Davinci Resolve studio on a Mac Mini M1 16GB. Speaking of mics, I can also run my RODE GO II wireless lav on my iPhone or Sony Mirrorless. But, I like to go simple when out cycling.

It was pretty nice. I secretly wished I had my fly fishing gear with me.

Yeah, I've been wanting to do it for a while. I used to live in the area and rode many section, but it was nice to piece it all together and discover some new places. It was a nice vacation. Jen & Eric did a great job creating the route. Easy enough for everyone, hard enough if you want to do it fast.

Yeah, from looking at peoples pictures, didn't look any drier.
