What a miserable and beautiful day at the same time! That landscape...pfff...amazing.. I hope you did not get a cold...
I only got wrinkly feet.
I really like the scenes where it micked you taking photographs and the one part with you jumping was particularly well done. Chris Wilson does some similar stuff in his videos and I always thought it was a nice touch.
I had fun making it look like I was taking the photo.
Sun and rain.......
North island is on the bucket list. Maybe this summer. Thanks Salty!
It's not going anywhere... :)
Fantastic gravel roads!
They are pretty nice. And in general logging guys are all pretty cool.
I really enjoyed watching that one 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy to have you along for the ride :)
Riding in the rain brings 30 yr old memories. The crappy gear we had then, crickey. Keep rolling.
Oh, man... don't remind me of wet canvas. LOL
Another geat video rob thanks 😊.
As for power I picked up a biolite stove works geat can change your battery bank and anything with usb I change my power banks and cook food make coffee and if it's raining and cool it works as a heater little to no smoke and no gas to carry.
I have a buddy with one (no while cycling) - he even had the grill attachment, and we cooked stakes. It was pretty cool. I was always wondering how that would work for bikepacking.
Very groovy!!!!!
Thanks 😊
Great video as usual. I've enjoyed watching this series as I grew up in Sayward and also lived 10 years in Port Hardy. We got used to the almost daily rain and fog in Port Hardy. It keeps everything so beautifully green and we seldom had to mow our lawn because it was mostly all moss. Looking forward to more videos.
Thanks for watching. And yes, rain, rain, oh and more rain. Plenty of adventures still to come. Spread the word to your peeps.
🤜🏼🤛🏽
This takes me back to my ride up to Hardy/Haida Gwaii. I kept having flats near Port McNeil. Fortunately there is a bike shop there. They found one of my spokes was proud of the nipple. When I hit a pothole it was enough to puncture the tube. Probably had too much weight back there too. So I got new strong rim tape and they filed down the protruding bit. Moral: always carry a file. And INSPECT.
We had a great breakfast at the resort run by the local tribe just north of there. Should have camped there too. And fished. They were practically jumping into nets.
Traveling on a heavier touring bike has its own set of mechanical issues. Yeah the Cluxewe Resort is pretty awesome, and great food.
Welcome to my bsck yard!! The Center main road is a big climb and connects to different areas which are absolutely remote and beautiful!! Really enjoy your content. I love those areas !!
So many places to explore. I’ll be back up that way in 2022 to finish more of the north island series
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures if im around i could show you some amazing beach camping in various areas ! Truly beautiful beaches
This particular trip I had planned to do a good sized loop head out to San Josif, Grant, Naka, and Elk Bay, but the weather really worsened, and the last week was going to be very ugly, so I cut the trip short. It's really quite hard keeping all your camera gear operational while riding day after day rain... on a bike. Things were already failing on me, and it would be a shame not to launch the drone to show what lovely areas I would be in. Just means I have to head back up to shoot some more.
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures exactly the route i was thinking. Its a beautiful area !! There are a now cabins in Holberg which makes it kind of nice in case of weather.
yes, I stayed at the adventure cabins and enjoyed a major feast with the owners and their new chef from Austria. OMG I was full! -- you'll see in one of the next episodes.
Like the music you picked for the video!
Thanks Winnie, I always try hard to find the right music. Sometimes that can be a big challenge. Glad you're enjoying watching.
It would be great of you decided to meet Ryan Van Duzer, one day, and ride together for an eppic trip (and make videos out of it, of course !)
Yes, some day. We've chatted about it.
Thanks for taking us along, those drone shots are great. Persistence , perseverance, precipitation, and panning!
Glad you enjoyed it
Lol. I wondered why they were serving pale toast. 😆 You’re a strong willed man Mr Salty Beard. 🤙
LOL
Fantastic photography while dealing with all that rain, I love the trees and that knot/ barnacle was a monster , I wonder how big the tree was ? It amazing how humans can see a flash of light with eyes closed and sleeping.
The tree was 6ft in diameter and 271ft tall. As for seeing flashes at night while sleeping... I guess I have holes in my eyelids. LOL
Sheesh this trip is full of endless lakes and rivers! Good job making a fun video despite the conditions. It's tough to get out the camera when it's cold and wet! Really enjoyed this one Salty!
You got that right! ~ I'm really behind on getting vids out. Life just gets in the way some times. Working on #10 right now, hope to be up by end of the week. WARNING - more sloppy rain ahead! LOL
Awesome! Thanks for taking us along.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it! More adventures to come!
Always enjoy your videos. Might have to change your name to Soggy Beard !
- LOL 😆
That was a good edit SB!
I really enjoyed it!
Thanks 😊 - ya ol’fox
Hahaha
does it never not rain down there lol enjoyed
Yes, sometimes, every so often... they call it heavy mist. LOL
hello my friend, I'm listening to your video through headphones and the sound is really a bomb, unfortunately I don't understand you, the subtitles don't work
Hmm... I had done subtitles prior to making public, and it seems there are no long there. I'll send you a message when they are fixed - my apologies.
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures don't apologize, i go back to your videos anyway so i know if they are there or not
Hey, ever biked from vic over to van, if so how long does it take?
Depends on where your talking about going to/from ~ big cities you know. If your talking downtown to downtown? Or are you talking airport to Victoria. And what traffic your comfortable with. But if really ballpark it… 3hr on the Vancouver side, 2hr ferry, 45min to downtown Victoria.
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures i mean like, downtown vic to downtown van
- there are a few different ways to ride into the Vancouver from the ferry, but I would budget about 3 hrs + 2 hr for the ferry and 1hr into victoria = 6 hrs total.
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures alright cool thanks bro!
