I thought the mood of my dorfs looks a bit bad, even though they had excellent food, excellent drink and lots of leisure activities. So I built a mist generator. Took me a bit to get it right of course, but eventually it worked, generating the waterfall impression on dorfs. However it did not appear to improve the overall mood and then a tantrum spiral happened with 20 dead, 70 wounded. Must have been the mist generator malfunctioning.

Necromancers killed my fortress... not by attacking, they were my guys because I had found one of the life & death books. But by killing my FPS down to a slide show until the game simply didn't progress.

I love finding Irish content creators. Thanks for the tips! I'm being driven crazy by dwarfs becoming miserable and I've been focusing a lot on trying to get them to pick up items they like. I think I'll give them better quarters and make the tavern bigger, and see how I get on.

It’s a real shame we can’t put in a work order condition to check for item quality. I would like to have 10 of each clothing item in reserve but it counts all the broken and super broken clothing items…

I made 100 guys crossbow army one time and train it by trapped invincible monster. This is really funny but bolts still bugged

Just so you know for future, there's an option when interacting with the golem to "direct [f]ollower to enter". It's pretty easy to miss, but you can see at 2:03:02 it's the option that is highlighted when the window opens. You select that one, pick the follower you want entering, wait a turn or two, and the follower will pop over and hop in.

Note that by choosing the plastic recipe instead of the rubber one this is actually a 5 GW power plant. I forgot that plastic generates less heavy oil

Feels like cheating tbh. I tend to just use a single row of cage traps in front of any entrance. Maybe 2 on untamed wilds. Actually, that bit at the end about using diagonals for forgotten beasts might be a lot more helpful for me, time will tell.

There's a really cool extradimensional version of the Turbow which gives it the vibro property. It still adds its PV bonus, though, and your strength bonus to PV, so you get a base PV of ≈ +8, resulting in a hard minimum of 4 penetrations per shot, 5 pens more often than not, and 6 pens half the time. All with wooden arrows. It goes up as you use better arrows.

After a run that made it through the entire (current) main quest line, I did not at all expect that the most powerful opponent would be.... a hendecasludge. Not even giant salt krakens strike as much terror...
