    As far as guides go, yours have been the best, and my go-to resource for new tips. Your videos are clearly explained, concise, and include super helpful information. So many other creators are riding the dorf fort algorithm wave with content that is frankly convoluted and many times unhelpful. Yours are totally the opposite and refreshing exception to that trend. Thanks for your content! Subbed for sure

    Could use a magma smelter construction tutorial

      Needs to be placed above atleast one Magma tile and the center needs to be on solid ground.

      @@user-to7ds6sc3p I know but I am not sure how to channel magma safely to a spot without burning a dwarf. A visual demonstration would be helpful. Also how do you keep magma crabs away?

      @@SpicyTake just channel them below(preferably without any neighboring walls below so it doesn't make a ramp), the dwarf pathing is very smart, they avoid holes

    FR, love your stuff. Bituminous is a crazy word to say in English, and I am sure to screw far more words in your language than you are in mine, but I wanted to be a little helpful. Bituminous is pronounced one of two ways. The only difference is if the first vowel "i" is long or short. I pronounce it "bit-tomb-men-us" as this is how I have heard coal workers pronounce it. However, the dictionary says the first "i" is long and it should be "bye-tomb-men-us". I got to tell you I laughed hearing you say "bitch-you-men-us". Just little more emphasis on that first syllable and it would sound like a pimp asking his hoes a question about the subject of their conversation. .. LOL

      Depends on where you are an English speaker. I'm guessing you're from the US. To my ear it was said quite well apart from the ch sound, and some native speakers may blend the t with a ch sound... but I'm Canadian

    any tips on finding Flux Stones??

    • @FurtherReadingTV
      @FurtherReadingTV  Рік тому +2

      Not really I'm afraid. When you embark if there's a mention of "flux stones" in the region then they'll be there somewhere, usually as an entire layer.

    I have the mechanics down, but I can't manage any more than 50 dwarves before I fall apart. Can you make a video on how to utilize growth? Or did you already make a video about expansion?

    • @FurtherReadingTV
      @FurtherReadingTV  Рік тому

      It really depends on what is making you fall apart. Aside from crazy random stuff it's a case of just making sure you have the essentials up and running ASAP (food, alcohol, clothes, soap), ways for your Dwarves to chill (Tavern, a generic temple, a couple of guilds, bedrooms with at least a bed + a cabinet), get a basic military (20% or so of my Dwarves training) and just keep an eye on unhappy Dwarves.
      I've been trying to build a standard start plan to get a fortress running and I'm feeling pretty close

      @@FurtherReadingTV I'm usually a fan of keeping pure vanilla settings but I think I'm going to start adjusting my population cap. I don't want to turn away migrants, but I think it will be better in the long run to experiment and see exactly when I reach my productivity limit. People just seem to have individual needs I can't meet. Someone else suggested moving everyone into a second larger fortress in the same embark once you have heavy dwarfpower and I think I'll try that idea too.

      @@chaotickreg7024 My method is: Conquer and Occupy a settlement(enemy or ally idc) and you can send some dwarves into that settlement when you press the expel button.

    • @chaotickreg7024
      @chaotickreg7024 Рік тому

      @@leuchgaming3080 That's a very fair suggestion. I'm mostly pacifist but I don"t mind squashing a Goblin or Kobold settlement in order to evict all my useless or grouchy dwarves.
