Hey mate, where do you buy your parts for your Disco 1? I'm looking at buying my first one in QLD this week and looking for sites for parts etc.

What sort of pump are you running ? Diaphragm or ?

That is a dana 60 or 70. Ring gear is too large to be a 44 and the rhs spring perch has 2 studs in it and only 1 u bolt, which identifies it as not a 44

I’ve just bought a 1995 300 TDI only 124000 k . One owner never been off roaded it’s mint condition always been garaged except last few years . The motor is strong and plenty of grunt for what I want to do . I just cruise around ,l love how high up I’m seated excellent for touring

Have you considered having the drum upright.? That would mean you could use the existing cap to fill and also a flat surface for attaching additional fittings

Great build, Terrance! Thank you! The grinder seems like a well-made tool...nice and smooth! Clever idea to face the nuts upwards to keep an eye on them for loosening. You could also use "Nyloc" style lock nuts instead of regular nuts if vibration becomes an issue. Or in a pinch,take the regular nuts, place them on edge on one of their flats, on a firm hard surface ( concrete floor,anvil, etc.) and give them a firm rap with a heavy hammer. This will distort them out of round just enough to get them to lock on to the bolt to prevent loosening. This takes some practice to get a "feel" for so start with a light rap and gradually increase until they thread on with some force.

need a help. have the same model, but some how lost the carb. Please share the # (pilot jet, main jet, slide, needle =?) Thanks.

As a firefighter I commend your use of a 2 stage pump. They can easily generate the 60psi required by the nozzle to operate properly.

I took a tip and use grease instead of oil on the filter seal and it doesn't come loose in service.

Greatly appreciated good set-up brother...probably best for the mask when you are closer to the sprayers lol..good job..I have a bobcat..I have a forklift attachment..I am going to put a ibc on a plastic pallet with a 12 volt water pump pvc piping and sprayer nozzles..thanks again Terence..

Just saw this video - great job. One side note that you may find helpful is that the crank and crank end on that side has a grease port in it where you can grease the clutch bearing without having to remove it. If you look close on the crank behind where the bearing sits you will see the discharge port...use a small grease pump and pump grease in through the hole in the end of the crank (where you'd placed the end of your pliers when reinstalling the C clip) and it'll come out directly into the bearing.

What keeps the oil in the rear end from getting into the grease?

I'm not a big fan of what people refer to as "Petina". I have a 1955 series 1 in a million parts but I want to try and reproduce the equivalent of a new vehicle...if that makes sense. I still allow dings and dents.

Nice video Terrance👍thanks for sharing. Had any thoughts on fitting a roof? after getting roasted in the summer one time, it was the best thing I ever did on my Ford 3000. Have liked, Subscribed and hit the bell icon😀.

Also you might want to add some tools to your kit and I'll still rake a flat head shovel a spade shovel hand saw and possibly chainsaw if you're in an area where you need that also I know a lot of the areas frustrated that have fires they're in the grasslands so maybe battery powered or gasoline powered weed trimmer. Let me help and get yourself a flashlight and this is going to sound stupid get yourself some lights around the vehicle so you can see at night because you know these fires don't only burn during the day they burn at night don't have any lights there I don't know if you have them in your country it's called Wayland they make fire service emergency lights as well as DC powered flood lights or spotlights that might be something you want to think of or get a inverter and put a couple of 250 watt lights on the back just to see with at night

I know this is a couple years after you first posted this video you said that you wanted to put a solenoid valve in and mount the nozzle up to the roof you know that that waste a lot of water would you like to do is get a couple of sprinkler heads and mount them upside down underneath your vehicle and then run a hose back and connect it to your solenoid valve on your pump also give me one I put your research valve on assuming I go too that way you can hit both of them from the vehicle.. if you get the right sprinklers you'll save a whole lot of water but you'll put out a whole lot of fire in a fire service we call them sweeps you might be able to make your own you just want to keep the gallon engine per minute down low but you don't want to lose the pressure have a nice day.

Sorry I'm new to international stuff... If it was a land rover id be fine... Got a few.. but need a truck... IH all the way...

Try a small flat block of wood under the bench it may be just not sitting properly on the ground my has a piece of 3x2 bolted to the back of the frame along the bottom of the bench also you can wind the arm with the winder to maybe get the belt to run correctly .

Nice one, I used to use these old finger movers years ago in the late 60s. If you keep the revs no higher 1200rpm, you will not have any problems apart from cheeking the sharpness of the blades after each hector. The modern way of life was to get everything done as fast as posable! Then of course the revs had to go up, - Yes then the shear bolts would keep breaking. I know one thing, you get a better cut if you go steady. Thanks for the memories. Have a great day.

Impressive setup how does 200l weigh up against a grassie as I'm at the start of building a trailer unit for next fire season/summer here in South Australia currently have a 25mm x 20m ozito fire hose and a 19 metre fire hose, 235 cc 8 hp fire pump once the trailer outlet on my rav4 is repaired a 400 litre poly tank for water supply but am looking at possibly getting a 220l tank for swap over

Curious what you did to clean everything up? did you soak parts you took off in degreaser? And what'd you do to clean up the ball left on the truck, just wipe away large amounts of grease then degreaser and wiping?
