Hi everyone,
Dutch history is not always great. The Dutch East India Company was trying to get the monopoly on some of the worlds most expensive spices in the 17th century. And Jan Pieterszoon Coen - or J. P. Coen took it to the next level with the genocide of the Banda Islands in the Moluccas in modern day Indonesia- but he did succeed in creating the monopoly and was rewarded for his actions. I think it's important to talk about these kind of stories, so I hope you found it interesting.
