Adding a powered USB hub might help. I’m adding a powered USB hub to try and give a mini PC a little boost for USB devices.

A three month timelapse need different equipment than i had so i bought an ALTI T100 camera. Timelapse is a lot of fun and you can do them with your phone or an action camera BUT to do an extended Timelapse it ties up your device. The other issue is the timing of shot intervals. I really wanted this to work. My plan was to use the Bluetooth into my Insta360 Ace Pro for voice control and to keep the camera waterproof. If you don’t plan to use a Lav mic with it it will probably work fine. It just doesn’t work for my intended use. Hello will this camera connect to hdmi and wire to a tv and able to see live video? Will this video connect directly to usb tv works? Turn the video on and live video will be shown on my tv thru hdmi?
@@1bek yes you can connect the 12v supply to the camera and the HDMI out to the HDMI in on your TV. The USB out will power the camera and output video through the USB but I don't think it will output over USB and HDMI while powered by USB. I think you will need the 12v supply for HDMI output. If you just want USB you would need to go through a computer.
Thanks for the video, just wanted some backup batteries without spending too much on them and my only concern was compatibility and to make sure they won't screw up the camera. So it looks like a perfect buy for me.

I think you're dealing with USB bandwidth, too, not just power. I often saturate my ports, because of my 4k cameras. Check if your mini PC has 5, 10, 20, or 40 mbps ports. In USB 3 terms, that's usually 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3 or 4. You probably need 3.2.
@@DeployJeremy thanks for the feedback. According to specs it has USB 3.2 gen 2. It's 6C/12T with 16G DDR4 running a ryzen5. I haven't tested the ports for speed yet. I'm running the cameras at 1080p through OBS. I'm probably going to only have two cameras on here anyway, I'm just tinkering to see what all it will do. Thanks again for your help. @@onlymyopiniontech Cool. 3.2 Gen 2 is at least 10 Gbps. (I had mbps before, but it's Gbps thankfully 🙂). That *should* happily drive at least 2 1080p cameras, but theoretical limits are often higher than actual limits.
@@DeployJeremy one other thing is I'm only using one camera at a time through OBS although they are still powered. I'm guessing the port still sees the video stream. I could always go to a physical HDMI switch and just one capture card. Both HDMI cameras are powered by 12v but the USB camera and audio interface are powered from the USB port. At this point it's all an experiment.

The problem isn't the cameras or the quality. The problem is that a sponsored video is basically an infomercial. An unsponsored video is more accurate. When you get free stuff it can corrupt an influencer. A sales person who represents the company wanted it to appear that it was unsponsored. I subscribed to your channel because you're not sponsored and that means you're not corrupt. People want an honest review about a product. I bought a makose camera because of your review. If you were sponsored by makose I wouldn't have bought it because it's just an infomercial disguised as a review. I hope this clears it up. Thanks for the video. I skirted the edge of the storm. It did look pretty cool. If you search the camera, there are several people claiming to never review the brand again. We'll see. I have worked for and around big companies and I've dealt with "individuals" that had a thought process of "anything goes" to get more sales. Insta360 responded to the emails appropriately and said they would fix the problem. I just don't think the company had any knowledge it was happening and it seems unfair to throw them under the bus for bad low level marketing. It's only 1080p but you really can't do this without this type of camera. It's still going in the same spot. Once the leaves turn and fall off the tree I'll do another video. After that I might try and catch a big snowstorm if we have one this winter. Have a great night and be safe out there!

@@conman20000 not like a actual dashcam would. You could do a time lapse with a really slow frame rate but it would stay in that mode even if the car gets bumped. I wouldn't suggest using this in place of an actual dashcam. I think for people that want to use it to document their travels and don't have a dashcam or want higher quality travel documentation would be a better option. For vacation travelers you can record things along the way just by having it in this mode then take it as an action camera when you stop. Thanks for stopping by. I want to use my GoPro Hero 4 Black as webcam, at the moment I am waiting for my hdmi to usb Adapter. In best case, I could use it as webcam within my motioneye enviroment

I'm very close to buying the 360 x4 so does it have a built on setting to click on saying "dashcam"? This looks totally amazing and a no brainer to buy. Are the visuals for speed etc built into the camera setting? Thank you good video
I haven't looked at the specs on the X4 yet. On the Ace Pro you have to use an external source for the GPS information. I normally use my old iPhone to control the camera and it gets the GPS info from there. You can also use the Insta360 remote, Apple Watch or I'm told a Garmin watch. I think I paid the same or just a little more for a dashcam than the AcePro so this isn't out of the ball park to use...

What kind of setup you're using for the mic in this video? It sounds great
Thanks, it's made by Shokz. It is just a Bluetooth mic I use with my phone. It won't work with the stock iPhone camera. I use Filmic Legacy to record on my phone and there are a couple of other apps that will work with Bluetooth. It's a bone conduction headset. I really like it. I can wear it all day and it doesn't bother me. If you do get one be sure to get the one with the boom. It puts the mic closer to your mouth and works much better than the model without the boom. How do you solve for the flowstate stabilization moving the video left and right? Whenever I turn the car right the camera stabilization compensates the opposite direction which I don't want. I want the center vertical line to always be centered. I want it vertically locked.... Actually since I have a hard mount to the roof I can turn off most stabilizers. I'll try that.
